Sang Youde and Zhao Hui exchanged a knowing glance and then took off running.
They quickly disappeared into the night.
It was pitch black at night, but they weren't worried about being recognized.
But they were worried that this would implicate Grandma Zhang and her family.
They plan to find an opportunity to go out and explore the space again.
The man outside the space frowned. The person just now clearly came from Granny Zhang's house, and that back view looked somewhat familiar. Could it be his wife's maternal grandparents?
Ning Zhiyuan thought it was unlikely, after all, the military region was so strict, it wouldn't be easy for them to go out at night.
He was worried that the two people were bad people, so after thinking it over, he still knocked on Grandma Zhang's door.
After a long pause, someone finally asked, "Who?"
"Grandma Zhang, it's me, Xiaoyu's man."
"Zhiyuan, is there something you need from us?" Granny Zhang asked warily.
Her main concern was that Ning Zhiyuan might smell the mutton in the house.
Zhao Hui had already warned them not to tell anyone that they had been there.
Have any people come to your house?
Grandma Zhang pretended to be calm and said, "No."
Why do you ask that?
Had Zhao Hui and her group been discovered?
"I think I just saw two people come out of here."
Grandma Zhang was startled. "No way?"
"I didn't hear anything."
She fumbled around for a while, "Nothing's missing from the house, are you sure you're not mistaken?"
“We live near the mountains, and some hunters go out at night. Could it be that they just happened to be passing by and you saw it wrong?”
Ning Zhiyuan lowered his eyes. "Maybe."
He then drove back to the military base. If those two people were his maternal grandparents, they probably hadn't arrived home yet.
Moreover, he didn't see anyone suspicious along the way. Not to mention suspicious people, he didn't even see a single shadow.
When Ning Zhiyuan arrived at the family compound, Zhao Hui and Sang Youde were already asleep.
So when they heard Ning Zhiyuan come home, they came out looking sleepy. "Zhiyuan, are you hungry?"
"How about I cook you some noodles?"
Ning Zhiyuan gave Zhao Hui a deep look before replying, "No need, I'm not hungry."
"Sorry, I accidentally woke you up."
"It's alright, older people tend to be light sleepers and wake up easily."
Zhao Hui yawned. "If you're not hungry, I'm going back to sleep."
"Uh-huh."
Zhao Hui and Sang Youde pretended to be calm, but they were actually panicking inside.
If they weren't mistaken, the person who stopped them in Zhangjia Village was Ning Zhiyuan.
Judging from the look in his eyes just now, he clearly suspected them.
But Ning Zhiyuan got home so quickly, he must have driven. They don't have a car, so it's unlikely they got home that quickly. Therefore, Ning Zhiyuan probably quickly dispelled his suspicions about them.
The facts were exactly as they had thought, and Ning Zhiyuan's doubts quickly vanished.
After all, Sang Youde and Zhao Hui didn't even have bicycles, so how could they possibly get home faster than him driving?
Moreover, they looked like they had just been woken up from their sleep, not like they had just arrived home.
It seems he really mistook someone for someone else.
When Ning Zhiyuan returned to his room after taking a shower, Sang Feiyu was also woken up.
"Zhiyuan?"
"Honey, did I wake you up?"
He tiptoed onto the bed, and Sang Feiyu was now fully awake.
