He Meiling and Gao Jinfeng returned to the archives room, where Sang Feiyu had already gotten up to wash the cups and fill them with water.
The two walked over with their cups, and Gao Jinfeng took the initiative to ask, "Xiaoyu, what's going on?"
"We saw you walking together with Yang Qiuju today."
Sang Feiyu said frankly, "She wanted to be my friend, and I felt that having more friends wouldn't hurt, so I agreed."
"You two had a fight before, and you just forgave her like that?" He Meiling gossiped.
“The people I had conflicts with before were Grandma Lin and Yao Dabao. Yang Qiuju also failed to discipline her children properly, but now the military region has punished their family. I can’t keep bringing this up, can I?”
"Besides, I can get along with people if we can't, and if we can't, we'll just nod to each other when we see each other. It's better than becoming enemies, right?"
After hearing Sang Feiyu's words, He Meiling and Gao Jinfeng gave him a thumbs up, saying, "It has to be you."
"When it comes to interpersonal relationships, you're very direct and skillful!"
Sang Feiyu was both amused and exasperated. "What are you trying to pull?"
"Only by being sincere to others can I earn their sincerity in return; there's no way to manipulate that."
He Meiling replied, "You're the one manipulating Bill."
“I can’t control other people either, but I know that when I feel uncomfortable around someone, I won’t fawn over them and will automatically distance myself.”
This is Sang Feiyu's way of getting along with others.
Gao Jinfeng pulled Sang Feiyu aside and said, "Xiaoyu, you are the most perceptive and understanding person I have ever met."
"My cousin is going on a blind date this weekend. Why don't you come with me to the state-run restaurant to meet the boy?"
"You can give us some feedback then."
Sang Feiyu frowned slightly, "So many of us going to see him alone, that puts a lot of pressure on the young man."
“I’ve already thought it through. You and Meiling will both go. The three of us will sit at the next table, and my cousin and that young man will sit at another table. We won’t interfere with their blind date.”
“That’s no problem,” Sang Feiyu readily agreed.
She hadn't been outside the military region for a long time, so she could take advantage of the weekend to get some fresh air.
Before they knew it, it was the weekend, and Sang Feiyu and the others took a supply truck to the commune.
Cousin Gao Jinfeng was already waiting at the agreed location. When she saw Gao Jinfeng, her tense expression eased a little. "Cousin, you've finally arrived."
"Oh my, why are you nervous?"
"A family with a daughter has a hundred suitors; you're in high demand, what are you afraid of?"
Sang Feiyu wondered what a novel metaphor it was to describe a hot commodity.
However, she showed no expression on her face, and no one knew what she was thinking at that moment.
Gao Jinfeng gave her cousin a few instructions before remembering Sang Feiyu and He Meiling. She quickly introduced them, saying, "These two are my colleagues. You can call her Sister Meiling, and this is Sister Xiaoyu."
Gao Jinfeng's cousin didn't greet them, but she smiled at them as a way of saying hello.
Sang Feiyu and He Meiling didn't mind and smiled at her. Then they heard Gao Jinfeng ask, "Is there still half an hour before your blind date?"
"Yes, I wanted to get here early; it wouldn't be good to be late for our first meeting."
“That’s true, but it’s not good to come too early either. I suggest you go when it’s almost time,” Gao Jinfeng suggested.
