Chapter 48 Meeting an Old Friend Again (1/2)

Sang Feiyu had no idea that the Ning family was in complete chaos yesterday. She went to bed early last night and got up early this morning to go to the commune with Wu Xiufen in a supply truck to buy vegetables.

The two chatted and laughed along the way, and it felt like no time had passed before they arrived at the commune.

The two jumped off the bus, and Wu Xiufen explained, "We always get off here, and then get back on here two hours later."

Sang Feiyu silently memorized the surrounding environment so that even if she and Wu Xiufen separated later, she could still find a place to wait for the bus.

On their way to the supply and marketing cooperative, they saw a large crowd gathered in the distance, seemingly watching something interesting.

Wu Xiufen pulled Sang Feiyu over and pushed through the crowd. Both of them were stunned by what they saw.

Several people were kneeling there, their clothes tattered, each with their heads bowed and backs bent.

The two belatedly realized that these people were receiving ideological education.

Just as Sang Feiyu was about to look away, she suddenly met a gaze that was both strange and familiar. When their eyes met, a glimmer of life appeared in those bewildered and empty eyes. She shook her head almost imperceptibly, signaling Sang Feiyu not to do anything.

It's Granny Zhang!

Sang Feiyu's eyes immediately reddened!

She never expected to meet Granny Zhang in Fujian Province!

Looking closely, the two people on either side of Granny Zhang are her daughter-in-law and her son.

Two children were kneeling in front of her daughter-in-law. The children seemed to be stunned, neither crying nor making a fuss, just staring blankly.

Sang Feiyu quickly turned her face away, and tears the size of soybeans fell down her cheeks.

Seeing this, Wu Xiufen quickly covered her face with her hands, pulled her outside, and asked in a low voice, "Do you know them?"

"Yes, they are my neighbors. After my parents passed away, they helped me with their funeral arrangements," Sang Feiyu said truthfully.

Upon hearing this, Wu Xiufen sighed softly, "The world is going to the dogs!"

"We are just ordinary people, there is nothing we can do, and we dare not do anything."

Sang Feiyu choked up and said, "I know."

But she still couldn't suppress her sadness.

Grandma Zhang was the most elegant and particular old lady she had ever met. She always used specific utensils for eating and drinking tea, and different things were served in different utensils.

It was precisely because she had seen what Granny Zhang looked like before that she felt sorry for her current plight.

She must be experiencing indescribable and incomprehensible pain at this moment.

Just then, a strange man suddenly stood in front of Sang Feiyu. "Little Flying Fish?"

Sang Feiyu looked at the other person in surprise, her face full of confusion.

"I am Ah Niu!"

A distant memory flew in, and Sang Feiyu exclaimed in surprise, "Brother A Niu?"

"Uh-huh!"

"Little Flying Fish, I never thought you'd still look exactly the same as when you were little!" Ah Niu said happily.

It's worth mentioning that Sang Feiyu grew up to the same size as her parents, and almost everyone who saw her when she was a child could recognize her.

Wu Xiufen finally understood that the two of them had known each other since Sang Feiyu was a child.

She subconsciously kept a distance from them, neither too close nor too far, so that they could catch up.

"Little Flying Fish, have you been crying?"

Ah Niu is very observant; he immediately noticed the lingering tears in Sang Feiyu's eyes.

Sang Feiyu wiped away her tears and did not answer A Niu's question directly. "Brother A Niu, I never thought we would meet today."

"You've changed so much, I almost didn't recognize you."

Ah Niu scratched the back of his head sheepishly, "I'm getting old, how can I not change?"

He suddenly realized something, "Are you crying because of those people?"
