Chapter 101 The Little Tiger Gets Beaten

However, aside from a patch she used to accelerate plant growth, Lin Ying planted medicinal herbs throughout her space. She sprayed them daily with a mist of well water. The herbs were growing quite well.

Lin Ying carried a medicine bag and a basket on her back, which contained herb-gathering tools. She also held a machete in her hand as she went up the mountain.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Lin Ying arrived at the back mountain, she saw two half-grown tigers leap out from the mountain and pounce directly on her.

Lin Ying quickly threw the machete on the ground and picked up the two birds, one in each hand.

It's only because Lin Ying is strong that these two would have been able to overpower her.

With her face being licked by the two little tigers, Lin Ying looked helpless: "Niu Niu, Hu Zi! Stop licking me!"

These two are the tiger cubs that Lin Ying delivered. Although Lin Ying didn't raise them, she would give them well water every time she went up the mountain. Naturally, they remember her.

After cuddling for a while, Lin Ying took out the bowl she used to feed their parents and filled it with a bucket of well water.

After watching the two finish drinking, Lin Ying put the wooden basin away: "Alright, you two go find your parents. I'm going to gather herbs."

However, these two clearly didn't want to leave; wherever Lin Ying went, they followed.

The nearby mountains are their territory, and Lin Ying wasn't worried about them encountering any accidents, so she simply let them be.

With these two, Lin Ying's safety was further guaranteed.

Lin Ying's purpose today was to collect medicinal herbs. She crouched down to gather any rare herbs she encountered along the way. Two tigers were nearby, pawing at the grass or chasing butterflies.

After Lin Ying got up and left, they followed her again.

If Lin Ying comes across any edible fruit, she will pick it and try it. If she thinks it tastes good, she will store it in her space. If it tastes sour or astringent, she will stuff it into her mouth.

Then I watched as they reluctantly spat out the fruit.

Lin Ying laughed heartily.

Animals have very simple emotions. They are very sensitive, just like a baby around one year old. They may not understand what you are saying, but they can sense whether you are happy or sad.

So, even though they knew perfectly well that the fruit Lin Ying fed them wasn't tasty, they would still open their mouths every time. When Lin Ying laughed, they would happily jump around her.

Lin Ying traveled at a leisurely pace, stopping frequently along the way. She didn't find any century-old ginseng, but she did encounter several decent Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms. Lin Ying was quite satisfied.

Seeing Lin Ying sitting there resting, the two little ones ran off.

After a while, they came over with food in their mouths.

Lin Ying couldn't help but laugh when she saw this: "You guys can hunt on your own now? How amazing is that?"

Unexpectedly, the two rabbits were thrown at Lin Ying's feet. One rabbit was still alive, and the moment Niu Niu put it down, it struggled to escape, but Niu Niu slapped it to death.

Seeing the two push the rabbit toward Lin Ying, Lin Ying smiled and said, "You can both take care of me now, that's great!"

Deep in the mountains, Lin Ying didn't have as many worries. She might not be quick-witted enough, but the two little ones wouldn't be. They would definitely notice if someone was around.

However, in order to cultivate the habit of not relying on spatial abilities, Lin Ying still chose to go to the stream and deal with both rabbits instead of taking out anything from her spatial abilities.

She was afraid that if she developed this habit, she would be completely unguarded in front of others, especially in front of Zhao Qinghuai, and would unconsciously take something out of her spatial storage without any precautions.

After cleaning the rabbit, Lin Ying moved away from the dry grass and gathered firewood to start a fire. She then used matches to hold the rabbit and began to roast it.

Soon, a rabbit without salt or chili was roasted.

Lin Ying used her machete to cut the tiger in half and gave the pieces to the two tigers, saying, "Be careful, they'll get hot."

For the other one, Lin Ying sprinkled salt on it and then brushed on chili sauce.

This one is hers.

Lin Ying took out the pancakes she had prepared earlier, ate one herself, and gave the remaining two to the tiger.

However, it was clear that this little bit of food wasn't even enough to satisfy their hunger. After finishing, the two rabbits disappeared back into the woods. A while later, they returned with two more rabbits.

They threw the rabbit at Lin Ying's feet, and Niu Niu, ignoring that the rabbit wasn't dead, smacked it on the head.

Then they disappeared into the woods.

Lin Ying found it amusing, but she started tidying up again.

Just as she put the rabbits on the fire, the two returned.

After making three trips and roasting six rabbits over the fire, they finally sat there obediently waiting.

Aside from grilling myself another dish with chili and salt, the rest of the dishes were without chili and salt.

Lin Ying also noticed that the other tigers didn't like sweets or carbohydrates. But these two were different; they ate everything.

Lin Ying guessed that it might be related to drinking well water since childhood.

These two especially love eating rabbit meat roasted with bees.

While the two were eating, Lin Ying washed the bloodstains off the rabbit skin by the stream and squeezed out the excess water. She sprinkled salt on the skin and then put it into her spatial storage. The rest will be discussed later.

Lin Ying extinguished the fire with water, and only left after confirming that there was no more cremation and no more smoke.

Unexpectedly, she was very lucky this time. She had only walked a few steps when she saw wild ginseng by the stream.

Lin Ying excitedly ran over. Ginseng was always like that; either there was none, or there was a whole bunch. But among them, there was only one that met Lin Ying's requirements.

Besides that, there's another one that's fifty years old, which is pretty good.

Lin Ying dug out the two ginseng roots. She ignored the rest.

Digging ginseng takes a long time, and Lin Ying finished digging a little after 1 p.m.
