Lin Ying drew inspiration from her previous luggage cart idea.
You can put your suitcase on it and push it along the way, which definitely saves a lot of effort.
The mountains next to the residential compound aren't steep cliffs; many families use handcarts or snow sleds in winter. So, getting a cart is an option.
However, when going uphill, people pull carts; when going downhill, carts pull people.
Lin Ying plans to build one like a miniature train, with several carriages.
Lin Ying didn't plan to get a very big vehicle; she just wanted one that could hold a tree and a few baskets.
Lin Ying enclosed the carriage where ingredients were collected, so that even if the train overturned, it wouldn't make a mess.
One carriage for collecting ingredients, two carriages for storing timber, three carriages in total, just right.
It's basically similar to the stroller Lin Ying made. Arrange the three little carts and connect them with a rope.
Each carriage has six wheels. Although they are only about ten centimeters in diameter, they look very sturdy.
People pull the cart uphill, people drag the cart. With Lin Ying's strength, holding the cart is definitely not a problem.
Just as Lin Ying was busy, she heard Shuanzi come back crying.
Lin Ying looked at Shuanzi, who was soaking wet and sobbing uncontrollably, and then at Xiao Shuai following behind, whose face was also filled with anger. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief; at least it seemed that Xiao Shuai hadn't been the one bullying Shuanzi.
This made Lin Ying feel a little better.
"What happened to Shuanzi? Did he fall into the water?"
Xiao Shuai said, "Some new people have moved to the family compound, and they're really mean. They're always bullying people! They bully people when my brother and the others aren't around."
Lin Ying knew that the older children were all very sensible now and knew how to help with chores around the house. It was harvest season, so things were naturally busier. Therefore, it was mostly children like Xiao Shuai playing in the family compound.
"Where did you go? How did you get all wet?"
"I took Shuanzi and Xique to the stream to dig for crabs, but I didn't expect them to be there too. They said it was their territory and wouldn't let us go."
They also laughed at Shuanzi for speaking in a rustic way.
They even snatched Shuanzi's candy and pushed him into the water. I was furious, and we were furious too, so we fought with them.
Shuanzi mentioned a small ditch called Xiaoxilinying, which was a shallow stream that flowed down from the mountain and always dried up. Unexpectedly, it had water this year. There were even crabs, making it the children's favorite place to play.
Lin Ying noticed that Xiao Shuai's clothes were wet, but he wasn't injured: "So who won?"
Xiao Shuai said helplessly, "They are all big kids, we can't beat them. It was the adults on patrol who saw us, so we came back."
It's obvious without asking that those children must be the families of Zhao Qinghuai's soldiers.
Clearly, there are some troublemakers among them. However, since they are Zhao Qinghuai's subordinates, it wouldn't be good for Lin Ying to make a scene.
"Alright, let's go back and change our clothes. Shuanzi, change your clothes too. We'll just play here for now, don't go looking for them."
The young man sighed, "Okay, my dad also said that we're all kids from the compound, and it's not good to make things too unpleasant."
Lin Ying couldn't help but ask curiously, "Did you two have a falling out before?"
Xiao Shuai shrugged, still thinking that Aunt Lin Ying could stand up for them: "Last time they did the same thing, they tried to take our territory, and we were too small to compete. That's what my dad said. Sigh, why are they kids from the compound, not enemies?"
Lin Ying was amused by his words: "Alright, go change your clothes, don't catch a cold."
Originally, Lin Ying had planned to go up the mountain in the afternoon after the children had sat in the trolley at noon. But seeing Shuanzi's aggrieved look, and thinking that the children had nowhere to play, she changed her mind.
She didn't go out at all in the afternoon.
In the middle of the yard, Lin Ying set up a swing, a slide made of wooden planks, and a carousel. Since everyone there was a child, Lin Ying only built things for children to play with. All the sharp edges were smoothed out, so even if someone fell, they wouldn't be hurt.
To Lin Ying's surprise, her wasted noon wasn't all bad news.
While she was busy with the installation, Zhang Shanlin came to find Lin Ying with two officers in military uniforms and two officers in work clothes.
Looking at the familiar red certificate in Zhang Shanlin's hand, Lin Ying had a general idea of what was going on. After returning home, Commander Lu of the forest farm tested the saw himself.
This saw is not only lighter than a chainsaw, but more importantly, it doesn't use much oil. Its speed is no slower than a chainsaw, and the cost is relatively lower. Furthermore, the forestry farm acts as an intermediary for the blueprints; if Lin Ying is willing to have the factory manufacture it, they will definitely be able to offer her a suitable price.
So Commander Lu called Zhang Shanlin that very night, and the next day, Lin Ying called him back and told him that he would be in charge of handling the blueprints.
Sure enough, upon seeing Lin Ying, Zhang Shanlin laughed loudly and said, "Hahaha, I heard that Comrade Lin Ying specially called the forest farm this afternoon. They've been waiting a long time to personally deliver this reward to you."
Lin Ying brushed the sawdust off her clothes and walked over.
After Lin Ying passed by, Zhang Shanlin introduced her to everyone: "This is Comrade Lin Ying, whom you are looking for."
Just as the forestry worker was about to salute and introduce himself, two men in military uniforms interrupted him: "Hello, hello, Comrade Lin Ying, we've been wanting to meet you for a long time. Our factory is now overflowing with orders thanks to the table saws and hand saws you provided. It's all thanks to you."
Our factory manager was originally going to come in person today, but he was too busy at the factory and there wasn't enough time. So, he asked us to come and express our gratitude.
