Chapter 136: Falling into a Trap?

The car stopped at the school gate, and everyone started to get off.

Gao Chunhua and Li Yue'e helped take Lin Ying's two children downstairs, and the group went to take a bus nearby.

However, Gao Chunhua and the other two were on a different bus than her, so they parted ways at the station.

The bus from the town to the city only runs once an hour, but it's too cold outside now, and the roads are all icy, so many people who go to work have switched to taking the bus.

So there were a lot of people coming to take the bus.

Before the car even arrived, a crowd had already gathered around it. Lin Ying had two children with her, so she couldn't possibly compete with them.

After thinking about it, she decided not to rush and simply take the children to have breakfast first, and then deal with it after the peak period.

Upon arriving at the state-run restaurant, Lin Ying ordered food with her two children and then sat down to wait.

I had barely sat down when an acquaintance walked in.

Lin Ying had just gotten hot water to make formula for Er Ya and hadn't seen anyone coming. The person who saw her initially hesitated to recognize her, but after approaching and confirming, they recognized her.

"Comrade Lin Ying?"

Lin Ying looked up and saw it was the commune director. She quickly smiled and greeted him.

"Director Wu, you're here for breakfast too?"

Wu Bo said, "Oh dear, I have some goods to ship out this morning, they're loading them over there, I came over to grab something to eat. What are you doing here?"

Wu Bo actually wanted to ask about the two children, but he felt that asking would make him seem like a busybody.

Lin Ying said, "I took the kids to the city to buy some things. I didn't expect there to be so many people at the station, so we came here to eat first and then change trains."

Upon hearing this, Wu Bo said, "Oh dear, what a coincidence, this shipment is destined for the city. Here's what we'll do, have a meal and come with me. You can squeeze into the passenger seat; it's better than taking the bus."

Lin Ying was very happy to hear Wu Bo say that: "Really? Thank you so much, Director Wu."

Wu Bo waved his hand: "No need to thank me, it was just a small favor. You're practically an external employee of our commune."

Wu Bo wasn't wrong about that. In fact, because Lin Ying was quick at doing the accounting, Director Wu would occasionally pull her out to be the temporary accountant. It was just something that happened incidentally.

However, after talking to him for a while and getting to know each other better, Wu Bo finally couldn't hold back: "Um, are these two children yours?"

Lin Ying was chubby before, could it be because she gained weight during pregnancy? But this little girl looks like she's not even a year old yet, so that doesn't make sense.

Lin Ying explained with a smile, "He's from my brother Lao Zhao's family. They had some trouble at home recently, so the child will be living with us from now on."

Although Lin Ying raised these two children, she never intended for them to be her own, nor for them to call her "Mom" in the future. Besides the fact that the two children were indeed endearing and lovable, the main reason she raised them was because of Zhao Qinghuai.

Shuanzi still had her parents' memorial tablets hanging around her neck; they had their own parents. No one could replace them, and she didn't want to.

Not to mention that Lin Ying plans to have her own children in the future, even if they are her own children, Lin Ying has never thought that she will have to rely on her children when she gets old.

She was never a mother, but she was a child.

After her parents divorced, her mother's departure became a topic that no one would mention in front of her.

Because everyone thinks, which child doesn't need a mother? A mother leaving is bound to be a pain in a child's heart.

But she's not a princess trapped in an ivory tower; she'll grow up and learn about the outside world.

Lin Ying knew that Lin Rong's mother wasn't her own, but Lin Rong's father was her own. No one told her the truth; she only believed that her mother's departure led her father to marry Lin Rong's mother.

Lin Ying hated her mother as much as she hated her father after learning the truth. How could she, consumed by hatred, see the love her grandfather had for her?

Therefore, she wouldn't consider herself Shuanzi's mother, nor would she think it was wrong for the children to miss their own mother. Nor would she expect them to compare themselves to their own mothers.

She wouldn't deliberately hide anything from the children because they were sad. She would only let them know that some things have already happened, and that's a fact. Their lives shouldn't be lived in the past, but in the future.

Now, except for the initial period when Shuanzi first arrived, when the unfamiliar environment and language barrier made him subconsciously afraid of others discussing these things and of being abandoned, he now understands that Lin Ying will not abandon him, and he has become more confident.

Lin Ying believes that Shuanzi will be able to face their relationship calmly in the future, because from the beginning, this relationship has never changed.

Sure enough, after hearing Lin Ying's words, Shuanzi didn't focus solely on the content of her previous statement. Instead, he was happy to hear Lin Ying admit that they would always stay with their aunt from now on.

Seeing Shuanzi smile at her, Lin Ying patted his head.

Upon hearing Lin Ying's words, Wu Bo suddenly realized that something might have happened in her family.

The two children are so clean, with fair and delicate faces. They're even more well-cared for than children in the city, which shows how much care Lin Ying has for them.

Wu Bo admired Lin Ying for raising two children who were not related to him by blood so well.

Raising a child isn't like throwing a bun to a beggar on the street; it's for years, even decades, where they'll eat and drink your food every day. They'll need your food, clothing, shelter, and transportation, and they might even bleed you dry in the future.

Lin Ying is so smart, how could she not know this? But she still did it even though she knew, how could Wu Bo not admire her?

After dinner, Lin Ying took Er Ya to the corner of the wall outside and peed there.

Shuanzi also urinated next to him.

Lin Ying then took her two children and went to the commune with Wu Bo.
