Lin Ying then wired ten yuan to Zhao Qinghuai's parents before leaving with her two children.
Bao Youxue said he needed to see her before she left, and although she didn't know what it was about, Lin Ying went anyway. To Lin Ying's surprise, Bao Youxue saw her and immediately took her to the scrap metal recycling station.
Upon arriving at the recycling station, Bao Youxue greeted the staff and then led her inside. He then led her through a maze of turns to a back door. Outside the back door was a small building.
This place is very remote; this little house is located in a mezzanine between other houses. It's a location you really wouldn't expect.
Lin Ying couldn't understand why Bao Youxue had brought her to such a secluded place.
Bao Youxue opened the door to the small room and said, "I heard you liked these things before, so I thought they must be good things and kept them for you."
Chengcheng's illness made me realize just how terrifying a decent doctor in a hospital can be. These things are just waste paper to us, but they're treasures to a doctor. I didn't think much about it when I collected them; after all, you're a good girl, and since you like them, I figured I'd keep them so you could take them next time we meet.
Uncle believes these things are better in your hands than recycled as waste paper.
Under the beam of Bao Youxue's flashlight, Lin Ying saw a pile of what looked like books.
At a glance, she knew that it was the medical book and pulse diagnosis records she had seen when she came to buy quilts.
Lin Ying looked at Bao Youxue with surprise: "Are you giving all of these to me?"
Bao Youxue said, "Yes, but there's a lot of stuff here. If you can't take it all, you can take some next time you come."
Lin Ying nodded eagerly, "Yes, I can take it. Even if it's packed in sacks, I can take it all!"
Bao Youxue looked at it and said, "We definitely need a burlap sack. Wait a minute, I'll find you one."
Soon, Bao Youxue came over with a burlap sack. Lin Ying took her coat out of the basket, as Er Ya was moving a little stiffly in her arms. Bao Youxue helped put the burlap sack into the basket and then started putting the books inside. After all the books were in, the sack was already quite high above the basket.
Is it easy to carry like this?
Lin Ying said, "It's okay, I'll wrap my coat over it later, so it won't be noticeable from the outside."
Bao Youxue nodded: "That's fine then. I'll find you a car to take you back directly, so you don't run into any trouble on the way."
Lin Ying didn't mince words: "That would be wonderful."
The supply and marketing cooperative in the city must have a freight department. Bao Youxue is a director, so finding a vehicle shouldn't be difficult for him.
Tie the opening of the burlap sack with a rope. Lin Ying wrapped the basket in her coat. She padded the sleeves on the shoulder straps.
Although she was strong, such a heavy thing was still uncomfortable to hold.
With the basket on her back, Lin Ying smiled contentedly.
Seeing Lin Ying effortlessly lift the basket on her back, Bao Youxue couldn't help but exclaim, "You must be quite strong!"
Lin Ying smiled and said, "Yes, I still have some strength."
Bao Youxue nodded: "Let's go, I'll find you a car."
Bao Youxue led Shuanzi away, with Lin Ying following behind, and they left the place.
However, Lin Ying did not expect that as soon as she and Bao Youxue entered the compound of the purchasing station, they would see a group of people blocking their way.
A dozen or so people wearing armbands blocked them at the entrance.
“We are from the Revolutionary Committee. We received a report that you were smuggling international collective materials.”
Bao Youxue's face turned pale with fright. The things in Lin Ying's basket were nothing more than some waste paper, but in a sense, they were indeed collective supplies.
Not many people know that he came here, but one thing is certain: he was definitely framed.
Bao Youxue thought of something, and his face turned ashen.
He was framed, and Lin Ying was implicated as well.
He was too naive, thinking he could escape this predicament, but he didn't expect it would actually harm Lin Ying.
Looking at Bao Youxue's silent demeanor, Lin Ying recalled that when Bao Youxue went to find the sack, she had seen the medical books that had been deliberately stuffed into the pile of books. She subconsciously took out the book and read its contents before storing it in her space.
Is there anything else you don't understand?
What evidence do you have to support your claim?
Nowadays, when walking on the street, who wouldn't lower their head and keep their distance when they see the Revolutionary Committee? At this moment, seeing Lin Ying's fearless demeanor, they couldn't help but look her up and down.
His eyes lit up when he saw the black mink coat Lin Ying was wearing; his eyes were filled with greed.
"Evidence? Isn't it right on you?"
Lin Ying pretended not to see their looks: "On me? Are you sure?"
Those people came because they received a tip, so they weren't afraid of what Lin Ying said: "We received a report that you were secretly transferring collective property here. Isn't the evidence in the basket on your back?"
Lin Ying placed the basket in front of her, then looked at the leader and asked again, "Are you sure?"
The leader grew impatient: "What's there to be unsure about? When you came in, there was only a coat in your basket. Now there's so much stuff in it, doesn't that prove something? You lot, empty the contents of this basket. I'm not going to stop trying to play games with me!"
Just as the group was about to step forward, Lin Ying laughed and even took a step back: "If you open it now, you should think carefully about the consequences. You'll have to explain to the military headquarters yourselves."
As the group hesitated about whether to step forward, the leader of the Revolutionary Committee frowned: "Wait, what did you just say?"
