Chapter 144 There's Something in the Book

Lin Ying is already considering getting a swimming ring for the little guy. She just doesn't know if they sell them; if not, she'll probably have one made herself.

The second thing I like is sitting in the car and taking her around.

She doesn't particularly like looking outside; she just prefers sitting in the car.

That day, Lin Ying still took the little one running around everywhere. Since Xiao Shuai had gone to school, Shuanzi had found other friends. The slide in front of Lin Ying's house remained the children's favorite spot.

As soon as Lin Ying arrived at the entrance of the supply and marketing cooperative, someone greeted her. Lin Ying stopped her car and came out. She saw Zhang Shanlin carrying a basket on his back with another person.

"I saw your little car from far away. Is your daughter bothering you again?"

Lin Ying smiled and said, "Of course! What are you doing here?"

Zhang Shanlin said, "The stuff you carried over earlier has been inspected by the military. There were no problems, so they asked me to bring it to you. Can your vehicle handle it?"

Lin Ying looked at the basket of books and said, "It can hold up, but if we put it down, we won't be able to put Er Ya down."

Zhang Shanlin's eyes lit up upon hearing this: "Um, how about I ride it? You can carry this thing back with you?"

Lin Ying chuckled; this was quite a scheme.

However, seeing that the two of them were indeed struggling to carry this thing, he said, "Alright. This is the brake inside. Remember to release it when you ride later."

Zhang Shanlin nodded: "Don't worry, don't worry!"

Lin Ying glanced at Er Ya, who was already half asleep, and decided not to take her out.

He said to the soldier next to him, "I'll take this."

Just as Zhang Shanlin was about to get into the car, he said to Xiaobing, "You drive back."

The soldier saluted: "Yes, sir!"

Then he left.

Zhang Shanlin went inside and rode his bicycle, while Lin Ying carried a basket on her back and went home.

Lin Ying hadn't realized it before, but now that she was riding a bike, she discovered that riding a bike was indeed much faster than walking.

Although this vehicle is heavier than a bicycle, it is much faster once it starts moving. Moreover, Lin Ying wrapped the inside of the vehicle with straw mats and fur, making it much warmer inside the sealed little house than outside.

Zhang Shanlin felt that this thing was better than a bicycle, at least it wouldn't make him fall on the ice.

Before leaving, Zhang Shanlin looked at the car with lingering affection, reluctant to part with it.

But this looks like a huge project. Asking someone to do it for you? What are you thinking? How much would you reasonably pay them?

Moreover, being made of wood, its quality is a major drawback.

Lin Ying had no idea that Zhang Shanlin was thinking so many complicated things. After carrying the basket back, she went out, took Er Ya home, took off her clothes, and put her on the kang (a heated brick bed) to continue sleeping.

Lin Ying then began to pack up the basket of things.

She really didn't expect things to become so complicated. She had originally planned to transfer the items to her spatial dimension halfway through and pretend nothing had happened.

This led to such a big incident, causing everyone to find out about all of her actions.

She just couldn't resist these things. The thought of having the chance to protect them, only to have them destroyed in the end, was unbearable for her.

Clearly, she has so many medical books in her space, she really doesn't need these few.

Now, although the military leaders helped her cover it up, they have all managed to find something wrong with her.

Lin Ying felt that she was still too arrogant. Once the dark clouds above her head cleared, she felt safe and dared to do these little things.

Lin Ying covered her face, pondered for a moment, and warned herself that she must never be so careless again when going out!

After calming down, Lin Ying began to organize these things.

What started as a routine task turned into a mesmerizing experience as I looked at the case files.

Lin Ying didn't come to her senses until Er Ya started crying loudly.

Seeing the large wet patch under Er Ya's body and her aggrieved little expression, Lin Ying suppressed a laugh and apologized to her.

After calming the person down, Lin Ying still had to change their clothes. A water bottle was stuffed in their mouth.

They were barely satisfied.

After giving Er Ya some water, Lin Ying put Er Ya on the ground to play while she started washing clothes.

Halfway through washing, Lin Ying suddenly remembered something and quickly stood up and went to the living room.

Sure enough, the room was in complete chaos.

"When a child is quiet, they must be up to no good."

Despite the mess in the room, the little guy was still happily kicking his little feet.

Lin Ying was torn between crying and getting angry.

It's her fault; she was so engrossed in the medical records she had just reviewed that she forgot to put these things away.

Lin Ying has now fully recovered.

She tossed the baby into the stroller and started packing.

She stopped looking at the books and started organizing them separately from the medical records. She also picked up the papers that the little guy had scattered everywhere.

Lin Ying quickly picked up the books one by one, but she suddenly stopped when she picked up a copy of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases".

The original "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" consists of 398 articles and more than 35,000 words.

Even with the later additions, the book still contains over 80,000 words. The book's weight is clearly unusual.

Lin Ying carefully examined the book, checking the cover, the binding, and the thread binding itself; there were no problems whatsoever.

But Lin Ying was certain that there was definitely something wrong with this book.

Lin Ying thought of the things she had hidden under the covers before—money and a jade pendant. She had a feeling there was something fishy about this book.

So Lin Ying simply started searching page by page.

Once you've confirmed the cover weight is correct, you can start looking at the contents.

Upon closer inspection, Lin Ying discovered the problem.
