Lin Ying has been too busy lately. She thought that it was Er Ya who found Liu Zi back then, so even if they had a disagreement, they shouldn't really be at odds.
I didn't expect Er Ya to be beating Liu Zi up quite a bit lately.
Seeing Er Ya turn her head away and remain silent, Lin Ying asked Liu Zi, "Liu Zi, what happened to your sister?"
Liu Zi cried, feeling extremely aggrieved: "Every time I say I want to find my mother, my sister beats me. Every time I say I want to find my mother, my sister beats me."
Lin Ying comforted her, "Your sister doesn't want you to interfere with Mom's work. As you can see, Mom has been very busy lately."
Liu Zi was furious: "No, that's not true. Last time I said I'd save the good food for Mom, and my sister beat me up. Every time I call for Mom, my sister beats me up."
Lin Ying noticed that Er Ya's body stiffened for a moment, and instantly understood what was happening.
She hugged Er Ya, who stiffened for a moment before resting her head on Lin Ying's shoulder.
Lin Ying said to the villagers who had followed her, "Sisters, rest today and come back this afternoon."
They exchanged glances, understanding each other's situation. Everyone knew about Lin Ying's circumstances; apart from Liu Zi, none of the other children were her biological offspring.
It's said that Er Ya was raised by Lin Ying. Hearing Liu Zi call her "Mom" and she call her "Auntie," she probably understands that something's different here.
"Okay, then we'll come again this afternoon."
After everyone left, Lin Ying picked up Er Ya and found Shuanzi: "Shuanzi, can I borrow the name tag on your chest for a moment?"
Shuanzi, not understanding why, still handed the small memorial tablet, which was already patina-covered, to Lin Ying.
Lin Ying held Er Ya and told her the story of her parents.
After she finished speaking, Lin Ying asked, "Er Ya, is your aunt good to you?"
Er Ya nodded.
Lin Ying then asked, "Does your aunt treat you differently from Liu Zi?"
Er Ya thought for a moment: "He's better to me than Liu Zi~"
Lin Ying smiled: "Yes, in Auntie's heart, she likes our Er Ya the most. And Liu Zi likes his older sister the most too, right?"
Liu Zi still had tears on his face, but he still nodded: "Yes."
