"Okay, I've already made contact with the other side. Someone will meet you there. Are you sure the journey will be safe? Also, you can't send the child with you to a dangerous place, can you? What are your plans?"
Lin Ying said, "We'll see how things go when we get there. I won't go in rashly if I'm not sure it's safe. If I do go inside, I won't bring the children in. I'll bring one tiger in, and leave the other one to keep the children company."
"If you go in, will the tiger listen to anyone else?"
Lin Ying nodded: "When Liu Zi was first born, he got lost, and it was Er Ya who led the group to find him. Besides, with them around, it might be easier to go in and search for people."
Upon hearing this, Shan Yubang immediately nodded: "Yes, yes, animals have a keen sense of smell. Doesn't the army also use military dogs? Okay, I have to go out this morning, so I can't see you off tomorrow morning. Be careful on your way."
"OK!"
Although Lin Ying had already said that she had prepared enough supplies, Shan Yubang still arranged for someone to prepare and send over some more items.
As a result, the already small car was crammed full. With no other option, Lin Ying had to add a basket behind the door to hold the items.
The real journey begins now.
Because there was no restroom in the car, Lin Ying told the children to go to the toilet before she left. Originally, Lin Ying wanted to put diapers on Liu Zi, but the child was too proud to do so.
But that's how kids are; they won't go to the toilet when you ask them to, but they start nagging to go to the toilet shortly after you start driving.
Lin Ying had no choice but to stop and let them resolve the issue on the road.
Lin Ying is relatively lucky so far; no one is stopping her from driving a modified car on the road. Although she faces various checks at toll booths, she is always allowed to pass because she has military identification.
At noon, Lin Ying parked her car on the side of the road and cooked and ate her meal there. With her child around, she usually eats on time.
After the meal, each child had a bottle of milk. After they finished drinking, Lin Ying put everything away and took out the thin blankets for the four children to sleep under.
The children fell asleep in no time.
Seeing the two tiger cubs lying on the car, looking at her with innocent eyes, Lin Ying found it somewhat amusing. Then, while the children were asleep, she put the two tiger cubs into her spatial storage.
Letting them play in the space for about two hours should be fine.
Around 4 PM, Lin Ying's car finally left the province. However, she didn't continue driving; instead, she stopped.
The children played with the two tigers nearby, while Lin Ying began packing up and setting up the tent.
Lin Ying asked Haoyu to take his younger siblings to collect firewood nearby while she quickly set up the tent.
It's almost October, and although it hasn't reached freezing point yet, it's already getting cold.
So, heating was still needed at night. However, Lin Ying didn't use a stove; it was too big to fit in the car and too conspicuous. She switched to a hydroelectric heater. The solar panels had already fully charged the battery in the last couple of days, and Lin Ying had bought two hydroelectric blankets—one for the car and one for the tent. However, she would put two thin boards under the blanket in the tent to prevent the tiger from tearing it.
After the tent was set up, Lin Ying began to lay mats on the ground, then water-heated blankets, then boards, and finally blankets.
After finishing all that, Lin Ying began to move the kitchen utensils and food downstairs.
At this moment, Haoyu returned with the children, and Lin Ying led them to wash their hands at the water tank outside the car.
Then he set up the tent next to him as well.
The tent here was specially made by Lin Ying. It can be directly attached to the vehicle. Not only is there no need to worry about privacy, but it also stays draft-free.
After setting up the second tent, Lin Ying began preparing dinner. She unloaded the ingredients from the car and skillfully cooked a simple yet delicious meal on the stove. The aroma of the food quickly filled the air, and the children gathered around, watching eagerly and asking repeatedly, "Mommy, when will it be ready?" They looked incredibly adorable.
Soon the food was ready, and Lin Ying called the children over to sit down, reminding them to be careful of the heat. Everyone then happily began to eat. The two tigers lay obediently to the side, and Lin Ying would occasionally toss them some food.
After finishing their meal, Lin Ying and the children cleaned up the dishes, tidied everything up, and carefully checked the area around the tent to ensure there were no safety hazards.
That evening, due to limited resources, she didn't take a shower. After a quick wash, Lin Ying put the children to bed.
There were two water heaters in the tent, so it wasn't cold at all. Haoyu and Shuanzi slept in the front of the car, and a board was laid out where Lin Ying was driving, so there was no need to worry about the children falling off.
Lin Ying slept here with Er Ya and Liu Zi.
"Kids, you have to be good when you go to bed tonight. If you feel cold or uncomfortable, just tell Mommy right away," Lin Ying said softly as she tucked the children in.
"Okay, Mom," the children replied in unison. They were all tired after playing all day and soon fell asleep.
Lin Ying sat at the tent entrance, looking at the sleeping children and the quiet night outside. Her mind was still preoccupied with Zhao Qinghuai. She wondered what dangers he was facing in that mysterious place, and whether she could reach him safely and be of any help. She sighed silently, got up to check the vehicle again, and made sure the water, electricity, and heating were working properly before returning to the tent to lie down.
The occasional chirping of insects and the rustling of the wind through the tent made Lin Ying sleep restlessly throughout the night, constantly on her guard, fearing some unexpected situation. Fortunately, the night passed peacefully.
The next morning, before dawn, Lin Ying woke up. She got up quietly, careful not to wake the children. Stepping out of the tent, she stretched, breathing in the slightly cool morning air, and then began preparing breakfast.
After the children woke up and washed up, everyone sat together for breakfast. After tidying everything up, Lin Ying began to dismantle the tent, loaded everything back into the car, carefully checked the supplies and the car, and then called the children to get in the car to continue their journey.
Sometimes, when the road conditions were bad and the car was bumpy, Lin Ying would slow down and drive carefully to make sure the children wouldn't get hurt. The two tigers seemed to sense the hardship of the journey and lay obediently on the car, rarely fighting.
After several more days of travel, Lin Ying and her group were getting closer and closer to Shu City.
