Chapter 54 Tigers Don't Eat People

Lin Ying almost instinctively dodged to the side, only to see a huge object land where she had just been standing.

Its fangs were already deeply embedded in the trunk of the pear tree in front of her.

Seeing the struggling wild boar, Lin Ying didn't hesitate to swiftly cut it down and send it away.

Seeing the pig's head stuck in the pear tree, Lin Ying thought for a moment and then cut down the pear tree and brought the wild boar into her space.

This place is full of pig's blood; she can't stay here long. Besides, the wild boar in the space is still bleeding, so she needs to go in first and collect the blood.

After finishing with the pig's blood, Lin Ying glanced back at the pig's head, thought for a moment, and then pulled it off. As for the pear tree full of fruit, she planned to deal with it when she got back.

Just as Lin Ying was about to leave the space, she saw a pack of wolves surrounding the pear tree roots, with the alpha wolf licking the snow next to the roots.

Lin Ying instantly realized that this was still on the outer edge of the forest, where large animals like wolves and wild boars generally wouldn't come out.

Clearly, they were attracted by the well water.

While Lin Ying was still wondering how to get out, she heard a tiger's roar, and then she saw the wolves scatter in all directions.

Clearly, even this wild wolf is afraid of tigers that live year-round.

However, Lin Ying was somewhat troubled because she still couldn't leave the space.

Lin Ying believed that with her strength, killing a tiger would only take two punches at most. However, she was naturally a little afraid of such wild animals.

This fear was instinctive; after all, it was the first time either Mo Zi or she herself had ever seen such a colossal creature.

Lin Ying didn't want to stay here any longer, because she wouldn't be back before Zhao Qinghuai left, and he would definitely come out to look for her.

Just as Lin Ying was thinking that if this guy didn't leave, she would "fight the tiger" (a Chinese idiom meaning to fight a tiger), she saw the big tiger sniff around and then leave.

Lin Ying breathed a sigh of relief and emerged from the spatial dimension. However, she didn't go home immediately. Instead, she observed her surroundings and, after confirming that no wolves were circling nearby, she headed deeper into the mountains.

Before leaving, she sprayed herself with a scent-altering potion. After making sure she was far enough away, Lin Ying then took a bucket of water and sprinkled it around her before quickly leaving.

Lin Ying didn't plan to look at the food chain or anything like that; her goal was to lure the large animals back, not to let them find her.

Lin Ying hadn't expected these animals to be so alert. Even though she had completely masked her scent, the big tiger reappeared.

Lin Ying was initially startled by the large tiger that suddenly jumped out, and instinctively tried to hide in the space. However, she also wanted to test whether she could fight the tiger.

With the belief that "high skill" makes one bold and "reckless," and thinking that she could do it, Lin Ying actually steadied herself.

Lin Ying hadn't expected that the tiger's eyes didn't seem to harbor any murderous intent towards her. But it was, after all, a large tiger, and she was afraid.

So, when it came over, she instinctively jumped and used all her strength to push it to the ground.

Just as Lin Ying was about to punch the tiger, she saw it blinking innocently at her.

"Um, you're a tiger, and a fully grown one at that. Is that expression appropriate?"

She had already pinned the tiger down, and the creature didn't offer any resistance whatsoever, making it difficult for her to finish it off.

Lin Ying felt that her heartache was probably influenced by her youngest son. If it were the old her, she would have wondered where tigers could be used as medicine.

But now her mind is filled with thoughts of wild protected animals.

"Fine, you can go now. Let's just leave each other alone!"

After saying that, Lin Ying released the tiger and let it go. However, Lin Ying did not expect that the tiger would not leave, but instead sniffed around her.

Lin Ying understood; this guy must be smelling the well water.

She sighed, took out a bucket from her spatial storage, which was full of well water.

The moment the well water appeared, Lin Ying saw the urgency in the tiger's eyes, but the next scene made Lin Ying laugh.

Lin Ying saw that the tiger's head was so big that the handle of the wooden bucket was positioned so that its head was stuck there, allowing it to only lick the water inside with its tongue.

Lin Ying thought for a moment. Since there were no basins or similar items in the space, she simply made a hole in the snow and then poured water on it. Soon, the hole froze.

Lin Ying poured water into the pit.

"Drink it. But it's a deal, don't come looking for me after you drink it!"

However, the tiger was only focused on drinking water and completely ignored her.

Seeing that it was ignoring her, Lin Ying quickly left.

Lin Ying didn't expect that as soon as she arrived near the pear tree, she would see a group of soldiers running towards her, and the one leading them was none other than her husband.

Zhao Qinghuai didn't expect to meet Lin Ying here. The moment he saw Lin Ying, he quickly ran over, while Lin Ying quickly carried the basket out of the space.

Upon seeing Lin Ying, Zhao Qinghuai hurriedly asked, "How are you? Are you hurt?"

Lin Ying shook her head in confusion: "No, why do you ask?"

Zhao Qinghuai said, "A few children just came up the mountain to collect firewood. They said they saw strange footprints and heard a tiger roar. They said a tiger might be coming down the mountain..."

As Zhao Qinghuai spoke, he was stunned when he saw what was on Lin Ying's feet.

He pointed to the things on Lin Ying's feet: "Strange footprints?"

Lin Ying smiled and said, "It's probably true?"

Zhao Qinghuai couldn't help but smile helplessly.

Lin Ying said, "However, I did see a big tiger just now, but it didn't seem to bite anyone."

Zhao Qinghuai suddenly realized: "You probably met Dahuang. That tiger was raised by a local villager. How did you get up the mountain? Didn't I tell you not to come up the mountain in winter? And you even went to the back of the mountain?"

Lin Ying choked for a moment, then said matter-of-factly, "If everything in the house is gone, I have to come out and look for some things."

Now, not only Zhao Qinghuai, but also the people behind him felt somewhat guilty.

Zhao Qinghuai's tone softened: "That back mountain is too dangerous. I'll try to figure out how to get food from home."

Lin Ying wanted to roll her eyes, but considering that he had his men behind him, she decided to give him face: "Isn't there no danger? Besides, even if there are wild animals, it's not necessarily me who will be in trouble. Alright, aren't you on patrol? You guys are busy, I'll head back first."

Just as she was about to leave, Lin Ying suddenly remembered something: "By the way, do you eat pears? The pears I found this time are very sweet."

Everyone shook their heads in unison. For the past few days, they had been given a pear or apple as an extra dish in their meals. They all knew that their sister-in-law had collected those.

Now they know even better that their sister-in-law carried those things back from the back mountain.
