Chapter 101 Only Naïve and Sweet Girls Act in Melodramatic Dramas

Just then, a servant carried in more than a dozen boxes of fruit at the door. Judging from the outer packaging, they were strawberries and cherries.

Chu Ningxuan's eyes lit up. "Hey! What a coincidence! I was just about to place an order..."

"Unfortunately, I ordered it for Wanwan." Chu Ningyi's voice came softly from behind.

"Oh, then I'll plate it!"

"Need not."

"oh."

"Oh right, the dessert shop that Wanwan likes!" I opened my phone and started searching again.

"No need." Chu Xiao's deep voice came from the stairwell.

Chu Ningxuan looked up at Chu Xiao, who was helping his grandmother down from the second floor, with a puzzled expression.

"Dad... Wanwan is very picky about desserts, she only eats from that shop. If you don't let me buy them, be careful Mom finds out and scolds you again." Chu Ningxuan pouted unhappily.

"I bought it." Chu Xiao helped the old lady Chu to her special chair and gently covered her with a blanket.

"If you all bought them, what am I supposed to do?" Chu Ningxuan teased cautiously.

Chu Xiao looked at Chu Ningxuan with disdain, "So you're blaming us? You can't even cook, and now you have the nerve to blame us."

"My dishes, though not very tasty, are all made by myself with love," Chu Ningxuan said smugly, only to be met with two eye rolls in return.

"Then make another one." The father and son both looked at Chu Ningxuan.

The latter looked at the "love-filled bento" lying in the trash can, pursed his lips and said nothing. It wasn't that this thing was bad, but rather that it was extremely unpalatable.

Chu Ningxuan struggled for a long time, but finally sighed and gave up.

Turning around, Chu Ningxuan saw his grandmother half asleep in the old chair and strode over to her, pulling the blanket over her.

"Grandma, your aunt's daughter is coming back. Are you happy?" Chu Ningxuan looked earnestly at Old Madam Chu.

There was a hint of worry in her eyes. Her father talked to her grandmother about her aunt a lot, but she remained in a daze.

There are many things they cannot predict, such as the passing of their aunt; they do not know how the old lady will react.

The old lady lying on the chair didn't hear Chu Ningxuan's question; her sleeping face looked exceptionally kind.

The quiet atmosphere in the living room was broken by Chu Yuan's voice after only a few minutes.

"Dad, Auntie is here!" Chu Yuan had been keeping watch outside the villa since early morning. As soon as there was any news, she would run to the living room to report, even faster than the servants.

Everyone stood up, and Madam Chu and Chu Zhi hurriedly came out of the kitchen after hearing Chu Yuan's voice.

Meanwhile, Shi Wan was being led inside by Lu Jingyan, who was holding her in his arms.

As they approached the courtyard, Lu Jingyan suddenly stopped, looked down at Shi Wan, and asked, "Wanwan, if I lied to you, would you forgive me?"

Shi Wan looked up, "Did you do something bad?"

"I didn't do it."

"You've been hiding your illegitimate child from me?"

"No."

"So you cheated on me? I was cuckolded?"

What are you thinking!

Lu Jingyan gently flicked Shi Wan's forehead. This girl suddenly had a unique way of thinking and her mind was full of ideas.

"Wanwan, I won't do anything to betray you. If anything I've hidden from you makes you unhappy, you have to get angry with me. Don't hold it in and ignore me, okay?"

Shi Wan looked completely bewildered.

Given the Chu family's attitude towards her over the years, she had some doubts.

However, the other party may not want to talk about it because there are other reasons. Besides, she could clearly feel the care and concern the Chu family showed her during her interactions with them.

"Ah Yan, only a naive and innocent person would act out a melodramatic drama with you."

"Hmm." Lu Jingyan ruffled Shi Wan's soft hair and walked towards the villa, his steps noticeably lighter than before.

He forgot that his Wanwan, despite her seemingly gentle and easily bullied appearance, actually harbored a little fox inside.

After reporting the news to her father, Chu Yuan excitedly ran outside and immediately went over to hug Shi Wan's leg when she saw her.

"Teacher..." Because she ran so fast, her little face looked even pinker.

"Chu Yuan! What should I call you?" Chu Ningyi's deep and authoritative voice came from behind.

She pouted, her voice trembling with tears, "Auntie... Auntie."

She didn't know whether to call her aunt or grandma, and looked at Shi Wan with a pitiful expression.

Shi Wan picked up the pitiful Chu Yuan and turned to give the Chu family a bright smile.

"Newly enrolled children are curious about the title of 'teacher,' so they will unconsciously call each other 'teacher' when they meet in private."

Shi Wan explained softly.

Lu Jingyan noticed that the little girl in her arms seemed to have gotten a bit fatter, so he reached out to take her in.

This time, Chu Yuan obediently stretched out her chubby little hand to Lu Jingyan.

Hmm? This little girl has learned her lesson after only a few days of school?

Without much thought, Lu Jingyan reached out and pulled Chu Yuan away from Shi Wan's arms.

Chu Yuan wrapped her chubby little hands around Lu Jingyan's neck and murmured softly, "Hello, Uncle."

"Hmm?" Lu Jingyan's eyes lit up, and he deliberately asked, "What did you say?"

Chu Yuan lowered her head and said in a muffled voice, "Hello, Uncle."

Grandma and Great Aunt said that when they saw Lu Jingyan, they should greet him as Uncle, otherwise Little Aunt would be sad.

She endured it for her aunt's sake.

"Oh! Such a good boy!"

Shi Wan glared angrily at the shameless man.

Lu Jingyan carried Chu Yuan in one arm and held Shi Wan's hand with the other, and the three of them slowly walked towards the villa.

Upon entering the villa, Shi Wan was drawn to the elderly chair in the center of the living room.

The old woman's peaceful, sleeping face seemed somewhat familiar; she couldn't quite put her finger on the feeling of familiarity.

Shi Wan and her mother both have a red mole on the bridge of their noses, and the old man in front of them also has the same red mole on the bridge of his nose.

"Wanwan," Chu Ningxuan's voice rang out, interrupting her thoughts.

“This is my grandmother. She was also on the island last time, but she was asleep the whole time and didn’t see you,” Chu Ningxuan explained.

"Hmm, it's nothing." Shi Wan stepped forward and gently took those withered, dry hands in hers.

He called softly, "Grandma."

Since Chu Yun ran away from home, Chu Xiao and Chu Ningyi have never given up looking for her, but she seems to have disappeared without a trace.

As time went by, the Chu family still couldn't find anyone, and Old Madam Chu lived in self-blame every day, which gradually took a toll on her health.

A few years ago, after Mr. Chu passed away, his wife fell seriously ill and became delirious.

She slept day and night. Chu Xiao consulted many renowned doctors and experts, and all of the old lady's data were normal.

The final conclusion reached by the group of experts was: a psychological problem.

As time went on, the Chu family gradually got used to the old lady's state.

"Grandma," Shi Wan said softly, emphasizing her words as she called to the sleeping old woman.

"Hmm..." Madam Chu slowly opened her eyes.

The slightly stinging sunlight made her a little uncomfortable. Shi Wan squeezed the old woman's hand again and called out, "Grandma, it's me, Shi Wan. Lu Jingyan and I have come to see you."

"Hmm?" Old Madam Chu squinted, only seeing the girl's blurry outline.

Those weathered hands trembled slightly, and her voice was very low as she said, "Xiao Yun... Xiao Yun."
