On the way back, Lu Jingyan had already gone through countless brainstorming sessions in his mind.
Sooner or later, this matter concerning Ye Jiajia will reach Shi Wan's ears. Rather than being scolded by Shi Wan first, it's better to confess first and maybe avoid being scolded.
Lu Jingyan felt much more at ease after thinking about it. After all, he was Shi Wan's person, and she couldn't possibly punish him just because of Ye Jiajia.
He became increasingly smug. When he came out of the old house after taking a shower, it was already past midnight. He picked up his phone and saw a message from Shi Wan asking when he would be returning to the apartment.
It seemed the message hadn't reached back yet, so Lu Jingyan put away his phone, grabbed his coat, and headed outside.
"Stop..." As I walked into the living room, I was stopped by a voice.
"Dad, what instructions do you have now?" He was busy going home to be with his wife and didn't have time to argue with her.
"Instructions? Hmph! I wouldn't dare!" Father Lu snorted twice and stopped looking at him.
Lu Jingyan casually glanced at the screen on TV. "Why don't you two watch a little longer? I'm going back to keep Wanwan company."
"Stop!" Mr. Lu suddenly stood up.
"You brat, don't think I don't know what you've done!"
"Oh? You know?" Lu Jingyan raised an eyebrow with interest.
"Since we already know, what's the point of saying anything? The Ye family broke their promise first, and now their ignorant daughter dares to jump in front of me and insult Wanwan."
"Tonight's events are just a warning, to tell your old friends that anyone who helps the Ye family is going against me, Lu Jingyan."
After saying that, he turned and walked out of the courtyard without looking back, leaving Mr. Lu alone in the living room, fuming and glaring.
"You brat! You ran off before I could even finish speaking!"

Lu's mother lay down on the sofa, easily and comfortably took the cucumber slices that Lu's father handed her and put them in her mouth.
"Your son bullied me." Her tone was accusatory and aggrieved.
Mr. Lu repeated what Lu Jingyan had just said to his dear wife, only to be met with a glare from her.
"Serves him right for siding with outsiders!"
"Hey! I haven't finished speaking! Why are you running away!" Mr. Lu shouted from behind.
They wouldn't let him finish speaking. Why would he side with those lunatics instead of his own daughter-in-law?
When he returned to the apartment, Shi Wan was already asleep.
Lu Jingyan quietly opened the bedroom door and slipped into bed.
Shi Wan wasn't sleeping soundly. Feeling the warmth from behind her, she hummed softly, "You're back?"
"Mmm," Lu Jingyan pulled Shi Wan closer to him, burying his head in the crook of her neck to inhale her scent.
I can never get enough of the smell.
"Huh? What happened?" Sensing that something was wrong with him, Shi Wan opened her eyes and stared at him.
"Something happened, but it's been resolved and it's not a big problem." Lu Jingyan felt a little guilty and didn't dare to look her in the eye for a long time.
“Look at me and say that.” Shi Wan reached out and straightened his head so that he would look at her.
After a long pause, Lu Jingyan said in a muffled voice, "I hit Ye Jiajia."
Shi Wan looked up in shock, "You hit a woman too!" but she wasn't angry.
Lu Jingyan brushed her hair to one side, revealing her slender, fair neck, and rubbed it against her, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction, "I've given her so many chances, but she can't control her mouth."
Shi Wan sighed helplessly. In her late pregnancy, her body was getting heavier and heavier, and even the slightest movement made her feel tired. "What did she say?"
Lu Jingyan said, "Anyway, she said some very hurtful things. I warned her, but she kept challenging my bottom line. I won't allow anyone to say anything bad about you."
The last sentence was said with a hint of coquetry.

Chu Ningxuan, with his hair all messy, stormed into the living room and sat down casually on the sofa.

"Pfft! Old Lu, that's not fair! You've been standing there for ages without saying a word!"

The old house sent a housekeeper to cook for Shi Wan, but Lu Jingyan kicked her out because he thought she was in the way, so the kitchen work naturally fell to him.
