Chapter 86
Ling Yin felt a pang of panic when he heard the word "lie" coming out of Qu Xing's mouth, but he didn't show it. He just smiled slightly and rubbed his forehead against his: "Can you stay alone for a while, baby? I'll go call the doctor."
Qu Xing nodded, suppressing the inexplicable panic in his heart, and watched Ling Yin go out. The moment his figure disappeared from his sight, he stared at the ward door and waited for Ling Yin to come back.
In the inexplicable panic and vaguely confused memories, Qu Xing seemed to realize that he seemed to be sick, the kind of sickness that was in his brain.
Yet, he couldn't think much further. His illness wasn't even a fraction as important as Ling Yin's departure. He was clearly aware that this was an illusion brought on by his chaotic mind, but he couldn't resist the darkness that was devouring his sanity and happiness. He could only let his mind weave a web of horrifying fantasies—Ling Yin seemed to have left him alone in this strange, terrifying little room. He opened that strange, cold, and unpleasant door and entered a place he had never seen before. Where would he go next? Qu Xing knew he was going to see a doctor. But his imagination also made him feel that Ling Yin had gone to a place even more mysterious and distant, a place where he would forget himself.
He is really sick.
Qu Xing thought numbly.
He even wanted to immediately take off these things and run away, but he remained calm and let his inner panic go, staring at the door quietly waiting for Ling Yin to appear.
The doctor's office seemed twenty thousand meters away. He felt like he had been waiting for two hundred years, until he was so discouraged that everything in the ward had lost its color. Only then did he see the door move slightly.
Qu Xing's eyes lit up, and his gaze passed directly past the white-coated leader to Ling Yin in the back. He waited for the person to approach before grabbing him. Ling Yin took his hand in return, shaking it soothingly.
The doctor looked at the machine data and said, "The blood pressure is fine, but the heart rate is a little unstable."
As she spoke, she looked at the young man lying on the bed, his eyes glued to the handsome guy.
Although he was already a grown-up child, looking at his innocent eyes, he inexplicably felt that he was still young. He said, "Come, little friend, look at me."
Qu Xing looked over.
"Do you know who you are?" the doctor asked.
“…”
Qu Xing was confused and said, "I know."
"Who is he?" The doctor pointed at Ling Yin.
Qu Xing: "My boyfriend."
The doctor choked: "..." He thought it was his brother.
In order to make sure that Qu Xing's words were not lies uttered while unconscious, the doctor looked at Ling Yin inquiringly.
Ling Yin: "Yes."
Doctor: "Okay."
After saying this, the doctor looked at the two people holding hands again. He raised his hand to touch Qu Xing's left hand. Qu Xing didn't know what he was going to do, so he withdrew his hand without thinking.
Doctor: “…” Pretty quick reaction.
"Give me your hand, little one." The doctor said gently.
"Oh." Qu Xing extended his hand again.
The doctor grabbed his hand, squeezed it twice like a toy, and asked, "How does it feel?"
Qu Xing: "...It feels like someone is pinching me."
"Your awareness, attention, and perception are all fine," the doctor said to Ling Yin, then turned to Qu Xing. "Do you know why you came to the hospital?"
Qu Xing: “…”
Ling Yin looked carefully at Xingxing's reaction.
Qu Xing seemed to find it difficult to understand his question and thought for a long time.
He felt that he knew why he came to the hospital. The ferocious face and the blood on the ground seemed to be right in front of him, but he just couldn't remember what it was or what had happened.
"Is it because it's been so long that you can't remember?" the doctor asked gently. He bent down slightly and looked at Qu Xing: "Can you remember? What happened before you came to the hospital and before you fainted?"
Ling Yin looked at his own Xingxing with some heartache, and saw a flash of pain in her eyes. Qu Xing first turned to look at him, then looked at the doctor.
Qu Xing struggled to piece together his fragmented memories, which were completely chaotic. He first realized that the ghostly face that kept flashing through his mind was Qu Hongfei. His ghostly words came back one after another, out of order. He temporarily ignored what they meant. And then there was the cold feeling of the knife tip piercing his flesh.
"There was a man..." Qu Xing paused, "My biological father, he cut my hand with a knife."
He stopped talking at this point, and the doctor remained silent, waiting for him to continue. After a long while, Qu Xing finally said, "They want to take me away."
"Want to take you away?" The doctor looked at him and asked slowly, "Where do you want to take you?"
"Take him back to his home." Qu Xing said.
"Take him back home?" the doctor asked. "Isn't he from the same family as you?"
"..." Qu Xing touched and held Ling Yin's hand again, completely ignoring the identity of the person in front of him as a doctor, and said irritably: "Why are you asking these questions?"
The doctor glanced at Qu Xing's hand that was holding Ling Yin, straightened up, and asked another question: "Then do you know who I am?"
Qu Xing didn't want to pay attention to him anymore.
Ling Yin held Qu Xing's hand tightly.
Although I couldn't tell what was wrong with this conversation, I could tell from the doctor's thoughtful expression that things weren't going well. After a while, he leaned down slightly and asked, "Are you nervous now? Are you trying not to put in the effort to understand what I'm saying?"
Qu Xing didn't even look at him.
"I took him away." The doctor pointed at Ling Yin.
Qu Xing suddenly grabbed Ling Yin tightly, then looked at him with a frown, "Why?"
"I want to speak to him," said the doctor.
"Just talk about it here." Qu Xing's face was fierce: "Aren't you talking about me? I know I'm sick, why do you have to avoid me? What gives you the right to take him away?"
The doctor was scolded by him, but laughed instead: "Yes, your thinking and logic are quite clear. It's good that you can lose your temper, as it doesn't cause internal friction."
He turned to Ling Yin and said, "He's clearly showing signs of anxiety right now. Family members should stay with him first and ask him fewer questions to avoid exacerbating his anxiety. Let's talk about light topics."
Ling Yin: “Yeah.”
"Be patient and give him time to adjust." The doctor smiled and looked at the reclining patient. "Today, he'll mainly rest in bed. If he wants to sit, he can sit for a while with support. If he's thirsty, give him some water, in small sips. He's been in a coma for two days, so his functions may not have fully recovered. Feed him a little at a time, slowly. Once he has swallowed properly, you can have a small amount of warm, soft liquid food in two hours."
Ling Yin nodded.
After the doctor left, Ling Yin touched Qu Xing's face and asked, "Would you like some water?"
Qu Xing's ferocious demeanor disappeared completely, along with his inexplicable irritability. He said quietly, "Drink."
Ling Yin went to get some warm water and sat down. He took a small spoon, scooped only a spoonful of water, and brought it to Qu Xing's lips. The water seeped into the cracks between his lips and disappeared. Qu Xing smacked his lips. He didn't need to swallow this little bit of water at all; it only served to moisten his mouth. He wanted to lose his temper, but when he saw Ling Yin's serious face, he calmed down. He sipped the second spoonful of water and grabbed Ling Yin, saying, "Brother, kiss me quickly."
Ling Yin chuckled, set the cup down, and leaned forward to press a kiss to his lips. The already scant moisture on Qu Xing's lips was now absorbed by the kiss. Ling Yin parted her lips slightly, met his radiant gaze for a moment, and smiled again as she kissed him. Then, closing her eyes slightly, she kissed the tip of his nose, each stroke gentle, as if afraid to break it. She continued kissing along the bridge of his nose, until Qu Xing closed his eyes, letting his cherished kiss rest on his eyelids.
Warm breath fell on his face, the touch of soft lips, the body temperature of Ling Yin, close to his skin. He didn't even need to open his eyes to confirm that Ling Yin was real and beside him. Qu Xing suddenly felt that there was nothing to fear. If he got sick, he got sick. If his hand was injured, his memory was messed up, he disappeared. It didn't matter, as long as Ling Yin was by his side.
Ling Yin's last kiss fell on the tear on his cheek. He felt extremely heartbroken, but he couldn't ask Xingxing to stop crying.
"Cry, baby." Ling Yin opened her eyes a little and looked at him: "I'm here with you."
