Chapter 368: No Rain, No Sunshine

March 26th!

This day is the second day of the Wu Dynasty Hanling Temple Literary Meeting!

This was supposed to be an ordinary day, but it was recorded in great detail in the history of the Wu Dynasty. Of course, this day was also recorded in the history of the world!

Emperor Wu Changfeng of the Wu Dynasty announced Fu Xiaoguan's identity to all officials at the morning court session on this day. This small landowner by the river, who originally grew up more than 3,000 miles away, and a fourth-rank Taizhong doctor and Jianyi doctor of the Yu Dynasty, suddenly became the son of Emperor Wen of the Wu Dynasty because of Emperor Wen's words!

After the arrival of Empress Dowager Wu Chao, the heated debate in the court ended with a few light words that confirmed Fu Xiaoguan's identity and laid the foundation for Fu Xiaoguan to enter the Eastern Palace.

Even though all the officials still had thousands of grievances in their hearts, they had to accept this reality - Emperor Wen had only two sons left. The original crown prince Wu Gan was deposed from the crown prince position on this day, demoted to Prince Ning, and left Guanyun City, the center of power, and went to Changning County.

Then the position of crown prince would have to fall on the head of his illegitimate son.

Some people felt sorry for Xiao, as her self-righteous actions only made things worse for Fu Xiaoguan.

Some people are also worried that after Fu Xiaoguan takes over the Eastern Palace, there will probably be several more shocks in the palace.

Of course, there are also people who do not care, believing that with Fu Xiaoguan's talent, he will lead the Wu Dynasty forward in the future, which will be even more brilliant and glorious.

Fu Xiaoguan, who was in Hanling Temple, and everyone here were unaware of all this at the moment.

Hanling Temple was closed for three days because of this literary gathering. The gathering was held at the Big Buddha Square on the back mountain, so the front mountain where Hanling Temple was located became extremely quiet.

None of the pilgrims who used to come here could come up. The incense and paper money that used to burn vigorously in front of the Buddhist temples had long been extinguished. Only the eternal lamp in front of the Buddha was still lit, and only the few incense sticks in front of the Buddha were still burning.

Fu Xiaoguan handed in the paper in a shorter time than yesterday, and he had nothing to do, so he took a group of people to the front mountain - because Yu Wenyun and Dong Shulan said that there was no Buddha in the Yu Dynasty, and since they were here, they should go and pay homage to the Buddha.

Fu Xiaoguan certainly had no objection to worshiping Buddha. It was a spiritual belief. However, he did not expect that the Hanling Temple was too big, and they were not familiar with the roads here, let alone the rules of worshiping Buddha. So it took a lot of time to worship all the way there.

At this moment, in the Boxue Building, none of the nine great scholars could speak after seeing those ugly and unbearable poems.

No compliments, no comments.

There are no words that can praise such poetry.

And they are not qualified to comment on the people who wrote such poems.

After a long time, the heavy sigh of Shangshu Chongshan in the ceremonial hall broke the silence.

"There's no need to continue this literary gathering."

Old Master Du stroked his goatee, nodded slightly, and sighed, "I went to walk around the square. Over a thousand students were still deep in thought, not a single one had put pen to paper. Yet, this young official, Fu, has already completed three questions. And... I really pity those young men. They're still at the foot of the mountain, talking about climbing to the top to look down at Fu Xiaoguan. Haha..."

He laughed at himself and shook his head, "Little Master Fu is not only at the top of the mountain, he's even in the clouds. Let alone catching up to him, even looking up at him would be difficult to catch!"

Even Master Mei, who had always protected the students of the Wu Dynasty, did not say a word in their defense.

His face showed a desolate expression as he thought that this was probably the pinnacle of literature, a gifted talent that no other student in the world could surpass.

No matter how picky he was, he could not find any faults in those five poems. On the contrary, he benefited a lot from reading them every time. Therefore, he had to admire Fu Xiaoguan's talent!

The eyes of Mr. Zhuang, the dean of Mount Li Academy, lit up at this moment. He did not say anything, but took out paper and pen and carefully copied the five poems on five pieces of paper.

Wen Xingzhou was a little surprised and asked, "What did Dean Zhuang do...?"

These five poems will surely be sung all over the world and will soon become familiar to everyone in the world. What's the point of copying them down?

Old Master Zhuang's brows widened, and he chuckled, "Everyone, Little Official Fu will leave the Wu Dynasty after the Empress Dowager's birthday. We don't know when he'll return, let alone whether you and I are dead. So, I'll go find Little Official Fu and ask him to sign this poem I copied, frame it, and hang it in his study. This is the signed poem of the world's top scholar, a valuable asset that can be passed down to future generations!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the other eight great scholars suddenly woke up. This is what is called calligraphy.

Then the eight old men became lively and went to get their pens, ink, paper and inkstone. Wen Xingzhou thought about it, smiled and went to the second floor.

The paper on the three floors was too small, so he wanted to find bigger paper, write bigger words, and hang it in the middle hall!

When Wen Xingzhou spread this huge piece of paper on the table, the other eight great scholars became upset. What the hell, why should your handwriting be bigger?

Master Zhuang was the first to run to the second floor, and then the seven old men all ran to the second floor, as if they were afraid that they would not have such a large piece of paper!

Wen Xingzhou took a brush as thick as a fist, dipped it in ink, and wrote as his heart stirred:

Ding Fengbo, Don't Listen to the Sound of Leaves Blowing in the Forest

It was the twenty-sixth day of the second month of the ninth year of the Xuanli calendar. It was raining in the border town. My companions were all in a state of panic, but I alone was oblivious. Later, the weather cleared up, so I composed this poem.

Don't listen to the sound of leaves being blown by the wind. Why not sing and walk slowly?

A bamboo stick and straw sandals are lighter than a horse, so who is afraid?

A raincoat to protect you from the wind and rain in your life.

The chilly spring breeze sobers me up, it's a little cold, but the slanting sunlight on the mountain tops greets me.

Looking back at the desolate place, I return.

There is no wind or rain, and no clear weather.

This is the calligraphy of Wen Xingzhou, which is majestic and powerful.

This is a poem by Fu Xiaoguan, which is free and unrestrained!

Such words, such lyrics, plus the signature of Fu Xiaoguan... Wen Xingzhou smiled with satisfaction. These five lyrics, these five pieces of calligraphy, are unique in the world and are worth millions of gold!

Nine great scholars in the Boxue Building were copying five poems by Fu Xiaoguan. At this moment, Fu Xiaoguan and his group of six were worshiping Buddha in the Hanling Temple.

"No, this seems to be the Earth Bodhisattva. Why worship him?"

"Of course, we worship him to bless you, a small landowner, to have a good harvest on your fields."

"...This looks like the Goddess of Childbirth. Isn't it a little early for you to worship now?"

The two girls blushed and glared at Fu Xiaoguan, but they didn't expect that Susu would also step forward and bow after hearing it.

"What do you mean?"

Su Su's delicate face flushed. She took out a dime from her sleeve pocket and threw it into the donation box, saying lightly, "I want to have a baby too!"

“……!”
