Episode 105 - Anonymous Delivery

"Zhong Hua!" Ah Yu wanted to chase after him, but Lin Wanqing, who suddenly appeared, grabbed her arm.

"Stop chasing her, let her go. Explaining now will only make things more complicated," Lin Wanqing said softly, a hint of smugness playing on her lips.

Ah Yu stood at the door, watching Zhong Hua disappear at the end of the corridor, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He knew that Zhong Hua's misunderstanding of him had reached its peak, but he didn't know how to clear it up.

Zhong Hua ran back to her apartment, crying all the way. She slumped onto the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling. Everything around her seemed so unfamiliar, as if the world had abandoned her.

"Why...why did you do this to me..." Zhong Hua murmured to herself, tears streaming down her face.

Outside the window, the night deepened, and darkness seemed poised to engulf the entire world. Zhong Hua, like a lost lamb in the darkness, couldn't find her way or see any hope. She didn't know where her relationship with A Yu was headed, or how she would face the future.

Time flowed slowly amidst pain and confusion, Zhong Hua unable to pull herself out of her grief. But the turmoil sparked by the pink USB drive seemed to have only just begun. Like a giant whirlpool, it swept Zhong Hua, Ah Yu, and Lin Wanqing into its grip, and the gears of fate began to turn mercilessly, heading towards the unknown…

After an unknown amount of time, Zhong Hua's phone suddenly rang. She numbly picked it up, glanced at the caller ID—it was her best friend calling.

“Hello…” Zhong Hua’s voice was hoarse and had a strong nasal tone.

"Zhonghua, what's wrong? You sound so strange, did something happen?" Her best friend's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone.

Hearing her best friend's concerned words, Zhong Hua could no longer hold back and told her everything that had happened that night. As she spoke, she broke down in tears again.

"What? How could this happen... Ah Yu, how could he treat you like this! It's too much!" Her best friend's voice trembled with anger on the other end of the phone. "Zhong Hua, don't be too upset. Maybe there's some misunderstanding. Calm down first, don't hurt yourself with anger."

"But... but when I saw those images and that message, I really didn't know what to do..." Zhong Hua said, crying.

"Don't cry, crying won't solve anything. How about this, come see me tomorrow, and we'll think of a way together to see if we can figure out what's going on. Maybe someone's behind this," her best friend comforted her.

"Um... okay..." Zhong Hua sobbed as he agreed.

After hanging up the phone, Zhong Hua calmed down a little. She got up and went into the bathroom. Looking at herself in the mirror, with red, swollen eyes and tear-streaked face, she felt a pang of sorrow. She turned on the tap and washed her face with cold water, trying to clear her head.

Back in the living room, Zhong Hua sat on the sofa, staring at the empty pink delivery box on the coffee table, a surge of resentment rising within her. She picked up the box and threw it forcefully into a corner.

"Lin Wanqing, did you do all this? Why did you do this..." Zhong Hua said through gritted teeth.

She decided that she must find out the truth with her best friend tomorrow. No matter the outcome, she wanted to give herself and this relationship an explanation.

That night, Zhong Hua spent in anguish and turmoil, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Moonlight streamed through the curtains, casting shadows on her face, as if silently sighing for her plight. Meanwhile, the city continued its clamor under the night sky; no one knew that in some corner, a girl was experiencing betrayal in love and a painful struggle…

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window and shone on Zhong Hua's face, stinging her eyes. She slowly opened her eyes, her head throbbing with pain, and the events of the previous night flooded back like a nightmare.

She struggled to get up, quickly washed up, and went out to find her best friend. The streets were bustling with people and cars, everyone busy with their own lives, but Zhong Hua felt completely out of place in this world.

When Zhong Hua arrived at her best friend's house, her friend had already prepared breakfast. Seeing Zhong Hua's haggard appearance, her friend said with concern, "Zhong Hua, eat something first, don't ruin your health by going hungry."

Zhong Hua shook his head: "I can't eat. Let's think of something else quickly."

Her best friend nodded helplessly: "Okay, so where should we start investigating? That USB drive is definitely the key. Have you looked at it carefully? Besides that video, are there any other clues?"

Zhong Hua recalled for a moment and said, "No, when I saw that video and that message, I was completely stunned and didn't have time to look at anything else."

"Let's take another look," her best friend said, taking out Zhong Hua's computer and inserting the USB drive.

The two carefully examined the files on the USB drive, but found no other useful clues besides the video.

"It seems this USB drive has been carefully modified, leaving only this video that's advantageous to them," my best friend said, frowning.

"What should we do? Is there really no way out for us?" Zhong Hua asked anxiously.

After thinking for a moment, her best friend said, "There's a way. We can start with Lin Wanqing. Since she gave you this gift, like the USB drive case, we might be able to find some clues from it. Do you remember if she said anything special or did anything unusual when she gave you the gift?"

Zhong Hua tried hard to recall: "At the time, she just smiled and said it was a small gift, without saying anything special. But... but I remember her eyes looked a little strange at the time, as if she was observing my reaction."
