The Mystery of the Beauty and the Candlelight
I. Scene Rendering and Character Introduction
Night fell, heavy and dark, pressing down on the Gu family's suburban villa. The European-style villa exuded an air of mystery and tranquility under the moonlight. The surrounding trees stood like silent guardians, rustling occasionally in the breeze, as if whispering untold secrets. Inside, candlelight flickered, casting dappled shadows on the walls, a stark contrast to the darkness outside.
Lin Wanqing wore a black silk nightgown, her figure graceful and alluring. The hem of the dress, like inky clouds, gently brushed against her ankles. The neckline of the nightgown was slightly open, revealing her delicate collarbones and smooth skin, which shimmered softly in the candlelight. She was barefoot, her fair toes peeking out from among the rose petals, and the air was filled with the fragrance of roses mingled with the scent of tuberose perfume.
She held a wine glass in her hand, the red wine inside swirling gently with her movements, leaving streaks like bloodstains on the crystal rim, as if telling of the undercurrents hidden beneath the calm surface. She stood in the center of the bedroom, surrounded by a sea of crimson rose petals, like a queen in the night.
Just then, Ah Yu walked in from outside. He was wearing a white shirt, the collar slightly open, the cuffs casually rolled up, revealing his muscular forearms. His hair was a little messy, and his deep eyes showed a hint of fatigue, but it couldn't hide his unique charisma. As he stepped into the room, his gaze was immediately drawn to Lin Wanqing, and he frowned slightly, seemingly surprised by the scene before him.
II. Verbal Confrontation and Hints
When Lin Wanqing saw Ah Yu enter, a faint smile appeared on her lips. She slowly raised her wine glass and said, "Ah Yu, the surveillance footage shows that a man wearing cufflinks entered the finance department that night." She swirled her wine glass slightly, a sly glint in her eyes. "Perhaps we can find evidence in the study."
Upon hearing this, Ah Yu's heart tightened, and his eyes instantly sharpened. He took a few steps forward, approaching Lin Wanqing, and asked, "Are you sure it's a man wearing cufflinks? Did you see the style of the cufflinks clearly?"
Lin Wanqing took a small sip of red wine, her gaze sweeping over the rim of the glass towards Ah Yu. She said leisurely, "Those cufflinks... they look somewhat familiar, like the same Van Cleef & Arpels that Gu Yanting often wears. However, the surveillance footage is a bit blurry, so we can't be completely sure."
Ah Yu frowned, lost in thought. Gu Yanting seemed to have an intricate connection with the deficit of Project 203, and if this news was true, it would undoubtedly be a crucial key to unlocking the mystery. But why would Lin Wanqing tell him this now? He was filled with suspicion about Lin Wanqing's motives.
Lin Wanqing seemed to sense Ah Yu's doubts. She put down her wine glass, walked to his side, gently took his arm, and said coquettishly, "I know what you're thinking. I'm doing this to help you. Think about it, if we can find evidence to prove that you have nothing to do with the losses of Project 203, wouldn't that clear your name?"
Ah Yu glanced at Lin Wanqing without speaking, but he was weighing the pros and cons in his mind. He knew that the relationship between Lin Wanqing and Gu Yanting was complicated and he couldn't easily trust her, but this clue was too tempting, and perhaps it could really help him get out of his current predicament.
III. Unexpected Interlude and Ambiguous Atmosphere
As the two were talking, Lin Wanqing suddenly swayed, as if she had tripped over a rose petal, and stumbled towards the candlestick. She gasped and instinctively reached for something nearby, but accidentally knocked over the candlestick.
The candlelight flickered, and scalding wax dripped onto the white sheets, sizzling as it did so. The dark red liquid seeped into the pristine fabric, resembling a strange, blooming flower. Lin Wanqing steadied herself, turned around, her brows slightly furrowed, and looked at Ah Yu with a delicate, almost aggrieved expression: "Ah Yu, help me unzip my skirt—there's wax dripping on my back."
Ah Yu paused for a moment, looking at Lin Wanqing with some hesitation. But the situation didn't allow him to think too much; if Lin Wanqing was burned by the wax, things would become even more complicated. He slowly walked behind Lin Wanqing, his hand trembling slightly as he reached for the zipper on her back.
Lin Wanqing leaned forward slightly, bringing her back closer to Ah Yu, her hair gently cascading down, releasing a faint fragrance. Ah Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and pinched the zipper pull, slowly pulling it down. The sound of the zipper sliding was exceptionally clear in the quiet room, each click like a hammer blow to Ah Yu's heart.
The zipper of her nightgown slowly slid down, revealing Lin Wanqing's fair back, which gleamed alluringly in the candlelight. Ah Yu saw the burn scar beneath her shoulder blades and felt a pang of pain in his heart; the scar was in the same spot as the girl next door he remembered. His hand paused involuntarily, his thoughts drifting away.
Lin Wanqing sensed Ah Yu's pause, turned her head, and asked softly with a hint of doubt and ambiguity in her eyes, "What's wrong?"
Ah Yu snapped out of his daze and quickly said, "It's okay." He sped up the unzipping, then quickly took a step back and said, "All done."
Lin Wanqing adjusted her nightgown to cover her back, turned around to look at Ah Yu, a hint of smugness flashing in her eyes. She picked up her wine glass again, took a sip of red wine, and said, "Let's go, let's go to the study and see if we can find the key evidence."
IV. Exploring the Study and Unveiling Hidden Secrets
The two left the bedroom and walked down the corridor to the study. The study door was ajar, letting in a faint light. Ah Yu gently pushed the door open, and a musty, bookish smell wafted out. The room was filled with tall bookshelves, overflowing with various books and documents.
