VI. Struggle and Awakening
Under Lin Wanqing's gentle "offensive," Ah Yu's consciousness struggled between memories and reality. On one hand, fond childhood memories of his neighbor's older sister flooded back, intoxicating him; on the other hand, the last vestige of reason in his heart kept reminding him that the person in front of him was not Zhong Hua, and that everything was eerie.
"No...this isn't real..." Ah Yu suddenly shook his head violently, trying to break free from the chaotic situation. His hands gradually loosened their grip on Lin Wanqing's shoulders, and his eyes began to clear.
Lin Wanqing noticed Ah Yu's change and was startled. She intensified her movements, moving even closer to Ah Yu, trying to seduce him again.
"Ah Yu, look at me, I'm truly sincere towards you..." Lin Wanqing's voice carried a hint of allure as she tried to salvage the situation.
However, Ah Yu had gradually regained consciousness. He suddenly pushed Lin Wanqing away, his eyes filled with vigilance and anger.
"What exactly do you want? Why did you drug me?" Ah Yu shouted, his voice echoing in the private room, breaking the previous ambiguous and eerie atmosphere.
Lin Wanqing was pushed to the ground by Ah Yu, a hint of panic flashing across her face, but she quickly regained her composure. She straightened her clothes, slowly stood up, and put on that fake smile again.
"Ah Yu, you've misunderstood. I just saw you were too tired and wanted to help you relax..." Lin Wanqing tried to explain, but her words sounded so weak and powerless.
"Relax? Do you think I'd believe that?" Ah Yu sneered, his eyes full of disdain. At this moment, he had seen through Lin Wanqing's true colors, and his disgust for her had increased even more.
VII. Escalation of Conflict
Faced with Ah Yu's questioning and accusations, Lin Wanqing knew her plan had been exposed, but she had no intention of letting it go. A ruthless glint flashed in her eyes as she decided to go all in, escalate the situation, and plunge Ah Yu into an even more complicated predicament.
"Hmph, do you think you can get away with this? From the moment you got involved in all this, there was no turning back," Lin Wanqing said coldly, arms crossed.
"What do you mean by that?" Ah Yu frowned, a sense of foreboding rising in his heart. He realized that there was definitely a bigger conspiracy hidden behind Lin Wanqing.
"Do you think the deficit in Project 203 was just a coincidence? It was all Gu Yanting's arrangement, and I was just a pawn in his game. But don't think you can stay out of it; you've already been dragged into this. If you behave yourself, you might still have a way out," Lin Wanqing said without any attempt to hide her smugness.
Ah Yu was shocked. He hadn't expected that Gu Yanting was behind this whole affair. Recalling his previous experiences, everything seemed to match up with Lin Wanqing's words. He felt both angry and regretful—angry at Gu Yanting and Lin Wanqing's schemes and regretful for his carelessness in falling into their trap.
"You bastards! I won't let you get away with this!" Ah Yu clenched his fists and said through gritted teeth. At this moment, he was filled with fighting spirit and determined to expose their conspiracy and clear his name.
"You? Do you think you have the ability?" Lin Wanqing said provocatively, not believing that Ah Yu could break through the many obstacles they had set up.
8. Perilous Situation
Just as Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing were at an impasse, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open. A group of people dressed in black walked in, their expressions serious and their eyes cold, and they surrounded Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing.
Ah Yu inwardly cried out in alarm; he knew this must be a backup plan arranged by Lin Wanqing or Gu Yanting. Faced with this sudden crisis, although he was somewhat nervous, he remained calm.
"What do you want?" Ah Yu asked loudly, her eyes scanning the men in black around her warily.
The men in black didn't answer Ah Yu's question. Instead, one of them, who seemed to be the leader, walked over to Lin Wanqing and whispered a few words in her ear. Upon hearing this, Lin Wanqing revealed a smug smile.
“Ah Yu, it seems you’re in big trouble. These people are here to ‘invite’ you to a place. As for where, you’ll find out when you get there,” Lin Wanqing said, her eyes filled with schadenfreude.
Ah Yu knew in his heart that he couldn't just go with them like this, or the consequences would be unimaginable. He quickly surveyed his surroundings, looking for an opportunity to escape. However, the men in black had him completely surrounded, making a breakout extremely difficult.
"I advise you not to struggle in vain. Just come with us obediently, and you might suffer less," the leader of the men in black said coldly.
Ah Yu ignored the man in black's threat and his mind raced, searching for a solution. Suddenly, he noticed an empty wine bottle on the table and an idea struck him.
IX. Desperate Counterattack
Just as the man in black was about to forcibly take Ah Yu away, Ah Yu seized the opportunity and quickly grabbed an empty wine bottle from the table. He smashed the bottle against the ground, shattering it instantly, scattering sharp shards of glass all over the floor.
The men in black were startled by Ah Yu's actions and instinctively took a few steps back. Ah Yu seized the opportunity to pick up a larger shard of glass and assumed a defensive stance.
"Don't come any closer, or I'll fight you to the death!" Ah Yu shouted, her eyes filled with determination.
The men in black were surprised that Ah Yu would fight back. They exchanged a glance and then slowly approached her. Ah Yu gripped the shards of glass tightly, her eyes fixed on the men in black, ready to face their attack at any moment.
Just as the man in black was about to reach Ah Yu, Ah Yu suddenly launched an attack. Wielding shards of glass, he charged at the man in black. The man in black, caught off guard by Ah Yu's ferocity, panicked for a moment. Ah Yu seized the opportunity to break through the encirclement and rushed towards the door of the private room.
