VI. The Painful Choice
As the investigation deepened, Zhong Hua discovered that things were far more complex than she had imagined. She realized that to uncover the truth, she would have to confront even harsher realities. She didn't know if she had the courage to lift the veil, and she was afraid to see more heartbreaking truths.
On one hand, she deeply loves Ah Yu and still holds a glimmer of hope that it is all a conspiracy and that Ah Yu has been framed; on the other hand, the evidence before her makes it difficult for her to deceive herself.
In her agonizing torment, Zhong Hua made a decision. She was going to find Lin Wanqing and confront her face-to-face; even if the truth was cruel, she wanted an answer.
Zhong Hua stood up, tidied her disheveled hair and clothes, a resolute glint in her eyes. She picked up her phone and keys, left the house, and headed towards the place Lin Wanqing often frequented.
VII. When facing each other
Zhong Hua arrived at the upscale club where Lin Wanqing was staying and went straight to her private room. The waiter at the door tried to stop him, but Zhong Hua forcefully pushed him aside.
Lin Wanqing was sitting on the sofa, leisurely drinking red wine. When she saw Zhong Hua suddenly barge in, a look of surprise appeared on her face, followed by a smug smile.
"Oh, isn't this Zhong Hua? What, you can't sit still after seeing my post?" Lin Wanqing said sarcastically.
"Lin Wanqing, what exactly do you want? What does this photo mean? Why is Ah Yu with you?" Zhong Hua asked angrily, his eyes burning with rage.
Lin Wanqing put down her wine glass, stood up, and slowly walked to Zhong Hua.
"What do you mean? It's obvious. Ah Yu has fallen in love with me, and we're together. Look at that photo, isn't it clear enough?" Lin Wanqing said provocatively.
"I don't believe it! Ah Yu wouldn't betray me, it must be you who's behind this!" Zhong Hua said loudly, his voice trembling slightly.
"Playing tricks? You're too naive. This world is just that realistic. Ah Yu chose me for his own benefit. What do you think you can offer him?" Lin Wanqing sneered.
VIII. Clues to the Truth
Despite the pain in her heart caused by Lin Wanqing's mockery, Zhong Hua knew she couldn't be defeated like this. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.
“Lin Wanqing, I know there must be a conspiracy behind this. Is Project 203 related to you? What exactly are you and Gu Yanting plotting?” Zhong Hua asked, looking directly into Lin Wanqing’s eyes.
When Lin Wanqing heard Zhong Hua mention Project 203 and Gu Yanting, the smile on her face vanished instantly, and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.
“You know too much. But so what if you do know? What do you think you can change?” Lin Wanqing said, her tone laced with threat.
“I won’t let you succeed. I will expose your conspiracy and clear my and Ah Yu’s names,” Zhong Hua said firmly.
Looking into Zhong Hua's resolute eyes, Lin Wanqing felt a pang of doubt. She knew that if Zhong Hua continued his investigation, it might cause them trouble.
"Zhong Hua, I advise you not to meddle in other people's business. Otherwise, you'll regret it," Lin Wanqing warned finally.
IX. Upholding Beliefs
Zhong Hua was not intimidated by Lin Wanqing's threats. She turned and left the club, her resolve to find out the truth only strengthened.
