Episode 122: A Banquet with Undercurrents

"Ah Yu, go quickly, don't worry about me!" Zhong Hua shouted anxiously.

"I won't abandon you!" Ah Yu gritted her teeth and continued fighting the man in black.

Just as the situation became critical, a police car arrived with sirens blaring. It turned out that local police had received an anonymous report that a group fight had broken out. Upon seeing this, the men in black, not daring to linger, scattered and fled.

Ah Yu and Zhong Hua, panting heavily, watched the departing man in black. They knew they had escaped this time, but Gu Yanting would definitely come back.

Just then, Ah Yu received an anonymous text message: "If you want to know the truth, meet me at the abandoned factory in the west of the city at noon tomorrow."

Ah Yu and Zhong Hua exchanged a glance. They didn't know whether the text message was from a friend or foe, but for the sake of the truth, they decided to risk going there.

The next day at noon, Ah Yu and Zhong Hua arrived at the abandoned factory in the west of the city on time. The factory was silent, filled with an old and worn atmosphere.

"Is anyone there?" Ah Yu shouted loudly.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a middle-aged man, his face haggard, but his eyes resolute.

“You’ve finally arrived. I was one of the people who knew about the fire back then. I was hired by Gu Yanting’s father to participate in the arson and the theft of documents. But for all these years, I’ve had a guilty conscience. Now I want to tell you the truth,” the middle-aged man said.

It turns out that back then, Zhong
