A desperate counterattack amidst surging undercurrents
I. Industry shrouded in gloom
Behind the hustle and bustle of the metropolis, an invisible war has quietly begun. Ah Yu, a once promising young talent in the industry, is now facing an unprecedented predicament—an industry blacklist.
It was a seemingly ordinary workday. Ah Yu was preparing to go to the company to handle some business as usual, only to find the company doors tightly shut and a crowd of employees gathered around, gossiping amongst themselves. He learned from others that the company had suddenly received a joint boycott from major industry giants for some unknown reason, all cooperative projects had been halted, and the cash flow had instantly dried up. Not only that, but a flood of negative news came in, portraying Ah Yu as a morally corrupt and unscrupulous businessman.
Ah Yu knew perfectly well that Gu Yanting was the mastermind behind all of this. Ever since Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing left the engagement banquet, Gu Yanting had regarded him as a thorn in his side, trying every means to destroy him. This industry blacklist was undoubtedly a ruthless move by Gu Yanting, attempting to completely drive Ah Yu out of the industry and ensure he would never be able to recover.
Back home, Ah Yu sat in the dark living room, the cigarette in his hand glowing intermittently. His heart was filled with anger and resentment, but he was not defeated by his predicament. On the contrary, his eyes revealed a firm resolve; he decided to fight back and make Gu Yanting pay the price for his actions.
II. Secretly searching for clues
From that day on, Ah Yu began a secret investigation. He knew that to bring down Gu Yanting, he needed irrefutable evidence of his commercial crimes. However, Gu Yanting was cautious and had been adept at navigating the business world for many years, concealing his crimes meticulously. Finding evidence was no easy task.
Ah Yu started by targeting Gu Yanting's business partners. Leveraging his existing network, he located individuals who had previously collaborated with Gu Yanting but whose relationships had soured. While these people harbored resentment towards Gu Yanting, they were initially reluctant to reveal much information for fear of his retaliation. Ah Yu patiently communicated with them, assuring them of his safety and promising to deliver justice once Gu Yanting was brought down. After a long period of effort, several individuals were finally moved by Ah Yu's sincerity and provided him with some vague clues.
Based on these clues, Ayu discovered that Gu Yanting's company seemed to have some improper financial transactions. To further verify this, Ayu began to study Gu Yanting's company's financial statements. He stayed up until the early hours of the morning every day, carefully comparing each account, trying to find flaws. In this process, he encountered many difficulties. Gu Yanting's financial team was clearly well-trained, and their accounts were very cleverly made, making it difficult for ordinary people to spot the problems.
But Ah Yu didn't give up. He searched everywhere for professional financial experts to help him. After making inquiries, he found a retired senior accountant, Mr. Chen. Mr. Chen was once a renowned figure in the industry and had a keen insight into issues such as financial fraud. Ah Yu told Mr. Chen in detail about his experience and the situation he had investigated. Mr. Chen was moved by Ah Yu's persistence and decided to help him.
Under Mr. Chen's guidance, Ah Yu finally discovered some clues. Gu Yanting's company had transferred large sums of money to seemingly unrelated overseas accounts through a series of complex related-party transactions. Behind these transactions, a huge business conspiracy seemed to be hidden.
III. A Perilous Investigation
As the investigation deepened, Ah Yu gradually approached the truth, but this also alerted Gu Yanting. Gu Yanting discovered that a mysterious force was secretly investigating his business activities, and he immediately realized that Ah Yu might be behind it all. Therefore, he dispatched his trusted subordinates to closely monitor Ah Yu.
One evening, Ah Yu left Old Chen's house as usual, intending to go home and organize the newly acquired evidence. As he walked down a secluded alley, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. His heart tightened; he realized he might be being followed. He quickened his pace, but the footsteps behind him quickened as well.
Ah Yu pretended not to notice and continued walking forward. When he reached a corner, he suddenly turned around and found two men in black approaching him with sticks. Ah Yu had a bad feeling, but he didn't panic. He quickly surveyed his surroundings and found a construction site nearby, so he turned and ran towards it.
The men in black pursued relentlessly. Once inside the construction site, Ah Yu used the building materials and the terrain to outmaneuver them. He would sometimes hide behind construction debris, sometimes climb scaffolding, making it difficult for the men in black to find him. However, the men in black didn't seem to intend to give up easily; they searched the construction site, shouting threats from time to time.
Just as Ah Yu was feeling his strength waning, he suddenly discovered an entrance to the basement. A thought struck him, and he decided to hide there. The basement was dark and damp, filled with a pungent odor. Ah Yu cautiously made his way forward, trying to make as little noise as possible. Once the men in black entered the basement, the dim light caused them to lose track of Ah Yu for a moment.
Ah Yu hid in a corner of the basement, barely daring to breathe. He listened to the sounds of the men in black moving around, silently praying they would leave soon. After a while, the men in black seemed to lose patience; they left the basement cursing. Ah Yu waited a long time, making sure the men in black were far away, before cautiously emerging from the basement.
This experience made Ah Yu realize that the investigation was becoming increasingly dangerous, but he did not back down. On the contrary, he became even more determined to expose Gu Yanting's crimes.
