Chapter 1: An Unexpected Trap
The afternoon sun filtered through the dappled leaves, casting its light on a corner of the bustling city street. Ah Yu, as usual, finished her part-time job at the coffee shop and was heading home. She was slender, her shoulder-length hair swaying gently with her steps, and her eyes revealed a resilient and simple spirit.
Ah Yu is a hardworking girl in this city. Her parents passed away early, and she relies on her own hands, working part-time at a coffee shop while teaching herself fashion design. Although life is not wealthy, she cherishes her hopes for the future.
Meanwhile, in another luxurious villa in the city, Gu Yanting sat in his spacious study, a gloomy expression on his face. Gu Yanting was the president of the Gu Group, young and promising but also cunning and ruthless. Recently, his company was facing a business crisis, and he urgently needed to find a scapegoat to divert attention.
By chance, he noticed Ah Yu. It turned out that Ah Yu's good friend, Lin Wanqing, had once crossed paths with Gu Yanting. Lin Wanqing, with her straightforward personality, ruthlessly exposed the dark side of Gu Yanting's business tactics at a business gathering, which made Gu Yanting hold a grudge. Knowing that Ah Yu and Lin Wanqing were close, he decided to start with Ah Yu and teach Lin Wanqing a lesson.
Gu Yanting meticulously planned a trap. He arranged for his men to deliberately leave a folder containing confidential company documents in a place Ah Yu frequented, then let the security personnel "discover" that Ah Yu had "stole" the documents. Ah Yu was completely unaware that it was a trap. When she picked up the folder and curiously looked at its contents, the security personnel swarmed in and arrested her on the spot.
"What are you doing? I didn't steal anything!" Ah Yu struggled in panic, her eyes filled with fear and confusion.
"Hmph, caught red-handed, still dare to argue! Come with us!" The security personnel were forceful and, ignoring Ah Yu's explanations, forcibly took her away.
Chapter Two: The First Blows of Imprisonment
Ah Yu was taken to the police station. Facing police questioning, she anxiously explained what had happened, but all the evidence was against her. The confidential document had her fingerprints on it, and the process of her picking up the document was also captured on surveillance footage. Although she claimed that she only picked up the document out of curiosity, to onlookers, it was a premeditated commercial theft.
The interrogation room at the police station was dimly lit and the atmosphere was oppressive. Ah Yu sat in a chair, her hands cuffed, tears welling in her eyes. She never imagined that her ordinary life would suddenly plunge into such a terrible situation.
"I've really been wronged! I have no idea what's going on!" Ah Yu cried, her voice filled with despair.
The police officer stared at her expressionlessly, taking notes of her statement. "We only look at the evidence, and now the evidence is conclusive. You'd better tell us honestly who else is behind this."
Meanwhile, Gu Yanting sat in his office, watching Ah Yu's panicked expression on the surveillance footage, a cold smile curling at the corner of his lips. "Lin Wanqing, this is what happens when you offend me. I'll make you taste what it's like to lose everything."
As for Ah Yu, after some interrogation, due to insufficient evidence, she was temporarily detained in a detention center awaiting further investigation and trial. The detention center was small and damp; Ah Yu huddled in a corner, filled with helplessness and fear. She didn't know what her future held, nor how to escape this terrible predicament.
Chapter Three: Lin Wanqing Receives the Devastating News
Lin Wanqing was busy in her design studio. She was an up-and-coming fashion designer with her own unique design style. Suddenly, her phone rang urgently, and the caller reported that Ah Yu had an accident.
"What? You're saying Ah Yu got arrested for commercial theft? How is that possible!" Lin Wanqing's paintbrush fell to the ground with a "thud," she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
After hanging up the phone, Lin Wanqing was extremely anxious. She immediately dropped what she was doing and rushed to the police station. All the way, Ah Yu's kind face kept appearing in her mind. She firmly believed that Ah Yu would never do such a thing; someone must be framing her behind her back.
Upon arriving at the police station, Lin Wanqing met the officer in charge of the case. She anxiously inquired about the situation, and the officer shook his head helplessly, showing her the evidence they currently possessed.
“Ms. Lin, the current evidence is very unfavorable to her. Unless new evidence proves her innocence, she is likely to face imprisonment,” the officer said.
Lin Wanqing bit her lip, her eyes shining with determination. "I believe she has been wronged, and I will definitely find evidence to clear her name."
After leaving the police station, Lin Wanqing began searching around. She first went to the coffee shop where Ah Yu worked, asking her colleagues about Ah Yu's whereabouts and any unusual behavior that day. Her colleagues all said that Ah Yu was the same as usual that day, with nothing particularly unusual.
Next, Lin Wanqing went to the place where Ah Yu had been captured, trying to find some clues. She carefully examined the surroundings, not overlooking any detail. However, after searching for a long time, she found no useful clues.
Chapter Four: The Arduous Rescue Journey
Lin Wanqing didn't give up; she decided to start with Gu Yanting. She knew that Gu Yanting was inextricably linked to this matter and was very likely the mastermind behind it all.
Lin Wanqing arrived at the Gu Group building, hoping to see Gu Yanting. However, the receptionist stopped her.
"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked politely.
"I need to see Gu Yanting, it's important," Lin Wanqing said anxiously.
"Sorry, you can't enter without an appointment." The receptionist maintained her smile, but her attitude was firm.
