Chapter 1: The Moment of Decision
Ayu and Lin Yu stared at the mysterious text message on their phones, their brows furrowed and their eyes filled with seriousness. They fell silent, the air around them seeming to freeze, only their slightly rapid breathing echoing in the quiet space.
Lin Yu broke the silence first, stroking his chin as he slowly said, "Ayu, this text message is too suspicious. We have no idea who sent it. If it really is a trap set by the mysterious organization, we'll be in grave danger if we go." Ayu bit her lip, her heart filled with conflict. She knew that this auction was an excellent opportunity to obtain the core secrets of the mysterious organization. If she gave up now, all her previous efforts might be in vain. But if what the text message said was true, it would undoubtedly be like lambs to the slaughter.
"Lin Yu, I'm hesitant too, but we've come this far, and if we back down now, it'll be hard to find another opportunity like this. Besides, this could be a tactic by the mysterious organization to scare us away." Ayu's eyes were filled with resentment; she really didn't want to give up so easily.
Lin Yu sighed and paced back and forth in the room, pondering the various possibilities. "What you said makes sense, but what if it's not? We can't gamble with our lives." He stopped and looked at A Yu, his eyes full of worry.
Ayu clenched her fists, as if she had made up her mind, and said, "I think we should stick to the original plan, but we need to be extra careful and be prepared to deal with any unexpected situations." Lin Yu looked at Ayu's determined eyes and finally nodded. Although he was still uneasy, he didn't want to miss this opportunity.
Chapter Two: Stepping into Danger
That evening, Ayu and Lin Yu, dressed in exquisite formal attire and looking like ordinary wealthy businessmen, walked nervously and expectantly toward the auction venue—a seemingly low-key but mysterious manor located on the outskirts of the city.
At the manor's entrance, luxury cars lined the streets, and guests chatted and laughed as they gracefully entered. However, Ayu and Lin Yu had no interest in appreciating this seemingly glamorous scene; they were constantly on guard, alert to their surroundings. After showing their invitations, the two entered the manor smoothly. In the brightly lit hall, exquisite works of art were displayed, and people around them conversed quietly, seemingly appreciating the art, but each harboring their own thoughts.
Lin Yu leaned close to A Yu's ear and whispered, "Stay alert. Let's wander around and see where the document might be hidden." A Yu nodded slightly, and the two pretended to casually admire the artwork as they began to move around the hall, while discreetly observing the surrounding environment and the movements of the people.
Soon, the auction officially began. The host stood on the stage, eloquently introducing each artwork to be auctioned. The guests below the stage frequently raised their paddles to bid, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere. However, Ayu and Lin Yu were not paying attention at all. While pretending to participate in the bidding, they were keeping an eye out for clues leading to the location where confidential documents were stored.
Chapter Three: First Clues Emerge
Just as Ayu was getting anxious and feeling clueless, she noticed a waiter loitering near a side door backstage at the auction, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings as if he were on guard. Ayu's heart skipped a beat, and she quietly tugged at Lin Yu's sleeve, giving the waiter a meaningful look.
Lin Yu understood immediately, and the two of them discreetly approached the waiter's location. Once close, Lin Yu deliberately bumped into the waiter, then quickly apologized, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention." The waiter was about to get angry, but seeing Lin Yu's elegant attire, he swallowed his words and simply said in a low voice, "Please be careful."
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lin Yu stuffed a wad of cash into the waiter's hand and said with a smile, "Brother, I'm new here and quite curious about this place. Can you tell me about it? Are there even more amazing works of art backstage?" The waiter looked at the money in his hand, hesitated for a moment, and then lowered his voice and said, "Please don't ask around. It's not a place that ordinary people can go to. There are important things there."
Ayu and Lin Yu exchanged a glance, secretly delighted. It seemed the confidential document was likely hidden in the backstage area. Lin Yu then chatted with the waiter for a few more minutes, subtly inquiring about the general layout and security situation of the backstage area.
Chapter Four: Perilous Atmosphere
After obtaining the clue, Ayu and Lin Yu made an excuse and left the auction hall, heading backstage. The backstage corridor was dimly lit, exuding a depressing atmosphere. Guards patrolled past from time to time, so the two could only cautiously hide in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity to advance.
However, what they didn't notice was that a dark figure was silently following them not far behind, its eyes filled with malice. This figure was a sentry planted by the mysterious organization, specifically responsible for monitoring whether any suspicious individuals were approaching the backstage area.
Just as Ayu and Lin Yu were getting close to the room where the documents were stored, the shadowy figure quietly notified the other guards. In an instant, the alarm sounded, and the entire manor's security system was activated. The once peaceful place suddenly became heavily guarded.
"Oh no, we've been discovered!" Lin Yu whispered. A Yu's heart jumped into her throat. The two hurriedly looked for a place to hide, but the guards had already surrounded them from all sides, and the situation was extremely critical.
Chapter Five: A Desperate Breakthrough
Lin Yu pulled out a specially made smoke bomb from his pocket and threw it at the guards. Instantly, thick smoke filled the air, obscuring everyone's vision. "Ayu, let's go!" Lin Yu shouted, pulling Ayu along as they rushed towards the room where the documents were stored.
