Episode 325: The Silent Xiu

Zhong Hua looked at the photos and laughed along: "I remember, we almost broke the club's props that time, and the club president gave us a good scolding." The two flipped through the photos, reminiscing about the past, their laughter echoing in the studio. Those past joys, troubles, arguments, and reconciliations had become their most precious treasures.

Chapter Six: Conflicts and Reconciliation

However, even the best of friends can have disagreements. Once, they disagreed on how to post-process a set of photos. Ah Yu felt the original color tones should be preserved to show the most realistic scene, while Zhong Hua thought appropriate color adjustments could be made to give the photos a more artistic feel. Each stuck to their own opinion, neither willing to give in, their voices grew louder and louder, and eventually they fell into a cold war.

Those few days, the atmosphere in the studio was exceptionally oppressive. Although Ah Yu and Zhong Hua were still in the same space, they didn't talk much, each silently doing their own thing. Ah Yu was actually quite upset; he knew he had been a bit stubborn, but he couldn't bring himself to be the first to make peace. As for Zhong Hua, he was also holding back his anger, but seeing Ah Yu's sullen expression, he felt uneasy as well.

One day, Zhong Hua returned from taking photos and brought Ah Yu his favorite snacks. He placed them on Ah Yu's desk and said somewhat awkwardly, "Don't be angry anymore. It's normal for us to have different ideas. How about we try other ways to handle this and find a compromise?" Ah Yu looked at the snacks, and his anger subsided considerably. He looked up at Zhong Hua, and the two smiled at each other. The gloom of their cold war instantly dissipated, and the studio returned to its usual cheerful atmosphere.

Chapter Seven: New Challenges

Later, they received an important photography assignment: to shoot a series of photos about the ancient town for a travel magazine. The ancient town has a unique charm, with its cobblestone streets, old eaves, and babbling streams, every corner of which is full of stories. However, taking photos that are distinctive and can capture its essence is no easy task.

Ah Yu and Zhong Hua arrived in the ancient town several days in advance and stayed in a riverside guesthouse. Every day, they went out early and returned late, carrying their cameras and wandering through the streets and alleys of the ancient town. They tried to shoot from different angles, sometimes waiting for a long time in one place to get good lighting. But the photos they took at first were always unsatisfactory, either the composition was not perfect or it failed to capture the unique atmosphere of the ancient town.

“This won’t do, we need to think of something else,” Ah Yu said, frowning as she looked at the photos in the camera. Zhong Hua nodded, looked at the surrounding buildings, and thought for a moment before saying, “We can find some local residents to be models and incorporate them into the photos. Maybe that will make the pictures more lifelike.” Ah Yu’s eyes lit up; she thought it was a good idea. The two of them then began to work on it, communicating with the local residents and inviting them to participate in the photoshoot.

Chapter 8: The Harvest from the Ancient Town

With the cooperation of the local residents, their filming progressed much more smoothly. An elderly woman sat in the sun in front of her house, her face etched with the wrinkles of time, yet radiating a kind smile. Ah Yu quickly set up her camera on a tripod, adjusted the settings, and captured this heartwarming scene. A group of children were playing and laughing by the river, their laughter echoing through the ancient town. Zhong Hua quickly pressed the shutter, recording this playful moment.

As the shooting progressed, they became increasingly able to capture the soul of the ancient town, and each photograph seemed to tell its own story. Back at their guesthouse in the evening, they sat in the courtyard, exporting the photos from their cameras, looking at them one by one, exchanging their feelings and thoughts during the shooting, and constantly selecting and adjusting them.

"The photos I took this time all look pretty good. I think I've delivered a satisfactory result." Ah Yu looked at the photos on the computer screen, a satisfied smile on her face. Zhong Hua nodded with a smile as well: "Yes, but we still need to do some retouching to make it as good as possible." As they talked, they began to work on the post-processing of the photos again. Their focused expressions made it seem as if the whole world had shrunk to just them and these photos.

Chapter Nine: An Unexpected Opportunity

When they submitted their photos of the ancient town to a travel magazine, they were surprised by the overwhelming response. The magazine's editor-in-chief praised their work highly, not only featuring it prominently in the issue but also inviting them to participate in a series of ongoing photography projects. This was undoubtedly a huge opportunity for Ayu and Zhong Hua, signifying a new milestone in their photography careers.

"Wow, I can't believe it! Our hard work has been recognized so much!" Ah Yu jumped up and down excitedly in the studio, like a child. Zhong Hua also smiled broadly, patted Ah Yu on the shoulder and said, "This is the result of our joint efforts. But we'll be even busier in the future, we need to produce more great works."

Since then, they've become even busier, traveling to different places to capture the beauty of the world through their cameras. The restored tripod continues to accompany Ah Yu, witnessing every shoot and every unforgettable moment. It's like a symbol of their friendship; though damaged, it has become even stronger through careful restoration, bearing witness to every step of their journey.

Chapter Ten: The Continuation of Friendship

The days passed by in a busy yet fulfilling way, and Ah Yu and Zhong Hua's fame grew, with their photographic works frequently appearing in various exhibitions and magazines. But no matter how much success they achieved, their friendship remained unchanged.

Once, they were invited to participate in an international photography exchange event. In a foreign land, surrounded by unfamiliar faces and a different cultural atmosphere, Ah Yu was a little nervous. Zhong Hua stayed by his side the whole time, encouraging him to boldly communicate and share his work and ideas with other photographers.

"Don't be afraid, our work is no worse than others. Just treat this place like our usual studio and relax," Zhong Hua said to A Yu with a smile. Encouraged by Zhong Hua, A Yu gradually relaxed, actively participated in the activities, and made many like-minded friends, gaining a lot from the experience.

Back in China, they still spend their free time sitting together in the studio, flipping through old photos and discussing new shooting plans. The tripod wrapped in insulating tape still stands quietly in the corner, as if silently protecting their friendship and witnessing the countless springs, summers, autumns, and winters they will experience together in the future, as they use their lenses to write stories about friendship and passion.
