After this continued for a while, Zhong Hua finally finished the project and started his journey home. On the way back, he kept thinking about Ah Yu, determined to explain things clearly to her and not let this hard-won, slightly different relationship fade away.
Back home, Zhong Hua didn't even rest before going straight to find Ah Yu. When Ah Yu saw Zhong Hua suddenly appear before her, she was initially delighted, but then she remembered the grievances she had suffered recently, so she deliberately put on a stern face and pretended not to care.
Looking at Ah Yu's expression, Zhong Hua felt a little helpless. He stepped forward, took Ah Yu's hand, and said earnestly, "Ah Yu, this business trip has really been too busy. I didn't mean to ignore you. I think about you every day, but I just can't find the time to contact you properly. Please don't be angry with me, okay?"
Listening to Zhong Hua's words and looking at his slightly tired but sincere face, Ah Yu's anger dissipated by more than half, but she still stubbornly said, "Hmph, who's angry? I'm not that petty."
Zhong Hua knew Ah Yu was just being stubborn. He gently pulled Ah Yu into his arms and said, "It's my fault. I made you suffer. No matter how busy I am in the future, I'll always let you know first. You can't ignore me again, okay?" Ah Yu leaned against Zhong Hua's chest, listening to his strong heartbeat. His eyes reddened, and the grievances and estrangement in his heart completely dissipated at that moment. He reached out and hugged Zhong Hua back, whispering, "Okay, you can't do that again."
Chapter Nine: Warm Daily Life
After that ordeal, their relationship deepened, and they cherished their time together even more.
Every morning, Zhong Hua would get up early to prepare breakfast for A Yu. Sometimes it was a simple fried egg, bread, and hot milk, and sometimes he would make porridge or snacks in different ways. In her spare time, A Yu would take Zhong Hua out to take photos and teach him some photography skills. The two of them captured many beautiful moments in the streets, alleys, and fields.
On weekends, they would go to the farmers market together to pick out fresh ingredients, and then cook together at home. Ah Yu would wash and chop the vegetables, while Zhong Hua would cook. Laughter often filled the kitchen. Occasionally, there would be minor mishaps caused by small mistakes, such as adding too much salt or burning the vegetables, but none of these things affected their enjoyment of this warm and cozy life.
In the evening, the two would snuggle on the sofa to watch movies together. Sometimes they would fall asleep together while watching, and when they woke up, they would find themselves covered with a blanket. They would smile at each other, snuggle together again, and continue to immerse themselves in this peaceful and beautiful time.
Ah Yu also uses his camera to record every little detail of their lives. He says that when they get old, these photos will be their most precious memories, and they can look at the photos and slowly savor these wonderful days.
Chapter Ten: The Continuation of Time
Days passed by, and Ah Yu remained passionate about photography. His work became increasingly outstanding, and he began to win awards in photography competitions. Zhong Hua, on the other hand, made steady progress in his work, and his career flourished.
But no matter how life changes, the deep affection between them has never changed. Every year they take time to travel together, to different places, to see different scenery, and to capture those beautiful moments that belong only to them with their cameras.
During a seaside trip, as the sun set, the sky was dyed orange-red, and the sea shimmered, a beauty that seemed otherworldly. Ah Yu set up his camera, adjusted the settings, and prepared to capture this breathtaking scenery. Zhong Hua stood behind him, quietly watching his focused expression, just as she had years ago when she waited for him at the exit of the train station in the neighboring city, her eyes filled with tenderness and love.
Ah Yu pressed the shutter, then turned to Zhong Hua, smiling as she said, "Such a beautiful view, I'm so glad you're here with me." Zhong Hua stepped forward, took Ah Yu's hand, and said, "There will be many more beautiful views like this in the future, and I'll be there with you every time." Hand in hand, their shadows stretched long in the afterglow of the setting sun, as if their story, like these long shadows, would continue endlessly in the river of time, never to end.
