“We’ve been through so much together. If it were really as bad as people outside say, how could we have achieved those results? Don’t worry about us,” Zhong Hua said patiently.
After hearing her words, her family still had some concerns, but they no longer insisted as strongly as before that she break off all contact with Ah Yu.
Su Yao then had an in-depth heart-to-heart talk with her husband. She explained the situation at the company, the cooperation model with A Yu and Zhong Hua, and their respective division of labor to her husband in detail.
“Darling, I know the pressure from public opinion is immense and has left you feeling uneasy, but can our years of relationship really be defeated by those baseless rumors? I hope you can continue to believe in me and support me as always,” Su Yao said, her eyes reddening.
Looking at Su Yao, the husband felt guilty. He held Su Yao's hand and said, "It's my fault. I shouldn't have been affected by those rumors. Of course I believe you, and I won't overthink things anymore."
Chapter Four: A New Crisis
Just when they thought they could gradually quell the rumors and ease their family and emotional ties, a new crisis quietly descended.
The company had an important project tender, and a competitor somehow learned of the rumors about them and secretly sabotaged them by spreading messages in the industry, saying that their team had chaotic internal relationships and that their cooperation was unreliable, in an attempt to make them lose the opportunity to bid.
When Ah Yu and the others learned of this news, they were extremely anxious.
"This is outrageous! They're using those rumors to try and ruin our project!" Ah Yu slammed her hand on the table in anger.
Zhong Hua also looked worried: "This bidding is too important for us. If we lose the opportunity because of this, all our previous efforts will be in vain."
Su Yao frowned and said, "We can't just sit here and wait to die. We have to find a way to clarify these rumors and let our partners see our strength and sincerity."
So they began collecting various materials from their daily work, including project results, team collaboration records, customer testimonials, and so on, preparing to compile a detailed document to explain the situation to the bidding party.
Just then, Ah Yu's parents heard a new version of the rumor, saying that Ah Yu and her team had used any means necessary to secure this project and had incurred a lot of favors. This made the elderly couple restless again, and they began to question Ah Yu's actions once more.
"Son, tell us the truth, is there really a problem with this project? Why are there so many negative rumors circulating?" Ah Yu's mother asked anxiously over the phone.
Ah Yu said helplessly, "Mom, those are just rumors spread by others. We rely on our own abilities to win projects. Don't listen to those things."
Zhong Hua's family, worried that she would get involved in even bigger trouble, began to persuade her to withdraw from the project, which made Zhong Hua very distressed.
Chapter Five: Firm Belief
Despite facing numerous difficulties, Ah Yu, Su Yao, and Zhong Hua showed no sign of backing down.
After comforting her parents, Ah Yu said to Su Yao and Zhong Hua, "No matter what others say, we know what's really going on. We must win this project and shut those people up with the facts."
Su Yao nodded: "That's right, we can't be defeated by these rumors. Our team is capable, and as long as we work together, we will definitely overcome this difficulty."
Zhong Hua clenched his fist: "Yes, I believe we can do it. Those who want to sabotage us will only be able to watch us succeed in the end."
They worked overtime to perfect the materials for the bidding party, checking every piece of data countless times, and detailing their efforts and achievements for each project case.
At the same time, they also decided to hold a small briefing, inviting some influential people in the industry, partners and media to participate, to publicly respond to the rumors and show the true side of their team.
As Ah Yu was preparing his speech for the briefing, his eyes welled up with tears. He recalled the hardships he had endured along the way, and the days and nights he had spent with Su Yao and Zhong Hua. Their feelings and cooperation were so pure, yet they were being maliciously slandered.
Zhong Hua was busy contacting various people and inviting them to attend the briefing. She called them one by one, patiently explaining the situation, hoping that everyone could witness their clarification.
Su Yao also used her personal connections to ensure the smooth running of the briefing. Everything, including the venue and equipment, was arranged in place, and they were just waiting for that day to arrive.
Chapter Six: The Briefing Controversy
Finally, the day of the briefing arrived.
Ah Yu, Su Yao, and Zhong Hua arrived at the venue early. As the guests arrived one after another, they felt both nervous and expectant.
The briefing began, and Ah Yu stepped onto the stage, took a deep breath, and started his speech. He talked about the original intention of their team, their efforts and achievements along the way, and also frankly responded to the rumors about the relationship between the three of them.
"We are simply partners and good friends. Those malicious speculations are baseless. We hope everyone can see our sincerity and strength and not be misled by rumors." Ah Yu's voice echoed in the venue.
Some people in the audience looked understanding, while others still looked on with suspicion.
Next, Su Yao went on stage to present the company's project information. The detailed data and successful cases were impressive.
Just as Zhong Hua was about to go on stage to share his teamwork story, a person claiming to be an insider suddenly stood up and interrupted the meeting.
“You’re all lying. I know what you’ve been up to. It’s not as innocent as you claim,” the man shouted.
