Episode 66: New Joys in Life

A Different Kind of Romance in Life

Chapter 1: The Transformation After the Busy Period

Ah Yu, Zhong Hua, and Su Yao have been working hard in their respective fields for many years and have long been accustomed to the high-intensity work rhythm. Every day, they are either busy in the office in front of the computer or rushing to various project sites. Their lives seem to be filled with work, leaving no room for other colors.

However, a chance encounter led them to reflect on their lifestyle. After completing an extremely challenging project, the three of them collapsed onto the office sofa, exhausted. They looked at each other in silence, yet each saw weariness and a hint of helplessness at the lack of enjoyment in their eyes.

Since then, they have decided to find new joys in life outside of their busy work schedules, adding a few vibrant touches to their monotonous days.

Ah Yu was always a person full of curiosity about new things. One day, he saw Zhong Hua taking pictures of the sunset outside the office window with her camera. Her focused and engrossed expression captivated him. Zhong Hua had been passionate about photography for many years and would always use her lens to record the little beauties in life in her spare time. The world through her lens seemed to have a special magic, always able to capture those subtle beauties that are easily overlooked.

Under Zhong Hua's influence, A Yu developed a strong interest in photography. On weekends, instead of staying at home or working overtime as before, they would make plans early, each carrying their cameras, and head out to explore the city's streets and alleys.

Sunlight streamed onto the ancient city walls, dappling the light and shadow as marks left by time. Ah Yu excitedly raised his camera, wanting to capture this moment, but he couldn't quite get the feel of it. Zhong Hua walked over with a smile, gently adjusting the camera settings, and patiently explained, "Look, to capture this kind of light and shadow effect, you can reduce the aperture a little. This will increase the depth of field, making the whole image clearer and more layered." Ah Yu listened attentively and took the picture again as Zhong Hua suggested. Looking at the satisfactory image on the camera screen, his face was full of joy. His smile, illuminated by the sunlight, even stirred Zhong Hua's heart for a moment.

They strolled along the street, watching street performers playing guitar and singing, surrounded by a crowd of onlookers. This vibrant, everyday scene became the subject of their photographs. After taking the photos, the two sat on a bench by the street, studying the pictures they had just taken and sharing their experiences.

"I think it would be even better if the little girl's expression in this photo could be captured more clearly. She looks so adorable when she's listening to music with such enjoyment," Ah Yu said, pointing to the photo.

Zhong Hua leaned closer to look and nodded in agreement: "Yes, we should have adjusted the angle back then, but that's the charm of photography. There will always be some minor regrets, which gives us room for improvement next time."

These moments of taking photos became warm and pleasant times in their lives, and a special feeling quietly grew between them as they accompanied and communicated with each other.

Chapter Two: Sweetness in the Kitchen

Although Zhong Hua has unique insights and talent in the field of art, he is a complete novice when it comes to cooking. Ah Yu, on the other hand, occasionally cooks some simple meals for herself, so she has some experience.

Once, Zhong Hua visited Ah Yu's home and watched Ah Yu skillfully working in the kitchen, soon bringing out several plates of delicious-looking dishes. She was filled with admiration and also had the idea of learning to cook.

"Ah Yu, will you teach me how to cook? I think it's amazing to see you make such delicious food. I want to try it too." Zhong Hua looked at Ah Yu with expectant eyes.

Ah Yu smiled and agreed. And so, Zhong Hua began learning to cook from Ah Yu. Starting with the most basic act of chopping vegetables, the way she carefully held the knife made Ah Yu chuckle.

"Don't be nervous. When you're chopping vegetables, bend your fingers and use your knuckles to support the blade. That way, you're less likely to cut yourself." Ah Yu stood behind Zhong Hua, gently holding her hand and helping her adjust her posture.

Zhong Hua's face flushed instantly. Feeling Ah Yu's warm breath on her ear, her heart raced involuntarily. Under Ah Yu's patient guidance, she gradually mastered the technique of chopping vegetables. Although the shapes she cut were still a bit uneven, she had improved a lot compared to when she first started.

Next came stir-frying. As the oil in the pan heated up and sizzled, Zhong Hua became nervous again, her hand holding the spatula trembling slightly. Ah Yu encouraged her from the side, telling her when to add the ingredients and how to stir-fry.

Finally, a simple plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes was ready. Zhong Hua looked at his "masterpiece" with a sense of accomplishment and couldn't wait to let A Yu try it. A Yu took a bite and praised with a smile, "Wow, it tastes really good! To be able to make it like this on your first try is amazing!"

Zhong Hua was overjoyed to have Ah Yu's approval, and from then on, she fell even more in love with cooking. She began to experiment with different ingredient combinations, and every time she made a new dish and saw Ah Yu enjoying it, she felt as sweet as if she had eaten honey.

They would also invite Su Yao and her husband to come and enjoy the food. On a weekend evening, the group sat around the dining table, which was laden with delicious dishes prepared by Zhong Hua. As they savored the food, they shared anecdotes from their recent lives, and laughter filled the room, making life even more enjoyable.

In the passing of food and the warmth of everyday life, the relationship between Zhong Hua and A Yu is constantly growing stronger. It's a kind of romance that's woven into the fabric of daily life, not intense, but enough to warm people's hearts.
