Chapter 56: Praise to Death
"Lin Yilan, you haven't taken a shower yet, so don't go to bed!" Huo Juncheng roared as soon as he came downstairs.
However, after going downstairs, he looked around and couldn't find any trace of Lin Yilan. It was Mrs. Zhang who came out and told him that Lin Yilan had gone back to school after dinner!
She doesn't take care of her body at all, and she keeps asking me to cooperate with her!
Thinking of this, Huo Juncheng became even angrier and called her. However, Lin Yilan said the call could not be connected!
"Wake me up at noon!" Huo Juncheng said this angrily and quickly went upstairs to rest.
Lin Yilan initially thought that after what she had experienced, no one in school would like her anymore. However, what she didn't expect was that after returning to school, the students' attitude towards her was even more enthusiastic than before.
"Teacher Lin, I could tell from the beginning that you're definitely not the kind of person you wrote about in the post, but I'm too insignificant to say anything!"
"Yes, yes, you always teach us to be good people in class, and I believe you would never do such a thing!"
"I defended you in class. Alas, we'll definitely learn our lesson next time we encounter this kind of gossip."
These words sounded insignificant, but the frightened looks in everyone's eyes made Lin Yilan feel uncomfortable.
Compared to the previous classes, these students now spoke very cautiously. They just did whatever Lin Yilan asked them to do, and they didn't even dare to breathe.
At first, she thought these students really cared about her and felt sorry for her, so when she came back to class, they all became well-behaved.
But after two classes, Lin Yilan realized that the so-called becoming obedient did not exist at all.
They said these flattering words because they were afraid that Lin Yilan would get angry and take her anger out on them because of this matter.
This kind of thing is what really makes Lin Yilan feel disappointed.
When the class started, the students stood in a straight line and didn't dare to say a single word.
Lin Yilan took a deep breath and spoke frankly, "I know you're all afraid of me, afraid that I'll take my anger out on you because some students previously asked me to stop teaching and resign. But, this is also human nature. You are students, and naturally you have the right to choose a famous teacher, but I don't think this is the way we should get along."
"If you genuinely feel that you're afraid I'll hit out at students who disagree with me, then you don't have to. I still have the necessary professional ethics. You can just study on your own this class."
After saying this, Lin Yilan picked up her water cup and strode towards the office building.
The students behind her were in an uproar, and Lin Yilan was no longer in the mood to care what they said.
Principal Zhang happened to run into her. When he saw Lin Yilan, his reaction was like a mouse seeing a cat: "Teacher Lin, you are finally back to class. When you were away, the students kept asking you to come back early!"
"Principal Zhang, if there's nothing else, I'll go over first. I've had a few days of rest this time, and I still have to prepare lessons." Lin Yilan looked at Principal Zhang, and her lukewarm attitude made Principal Zhang's heart tremble.
When Principal Zhang heard Lin Yilan say that she was leaving, he hurried downstairs, as if he was afraid that if he went down a step late, he would be dragged back by Lin Yilan and beaten.
Even the teachers in the school looked at Lin Yilan strangely when they saw her.
However, a student soon came to the office building and found Lin Yilan.
"Teacher Lin, we were wrong. Can you please go back and teach us properly? We promise we won't believe other people's lies again."
"Yes, Mr. Lin, this time we really know we are wrong. Can you give us a chance?"
One by one, the students looked at Lin Yilan begging desperately, and Lin Yilan naturally felt embarrassed to refuse.
It's nothing, she just wants to make everyone happy, right?
After returning, the students looked at her differently, which made Lin Yilan feel very relieved.
This class was the happiest one Lin Yilan had today. The students cooperated actively and the relationship between teacher and students gradually improved.
However, there was one thing that Lin Yilan couldn't understand. She clearly didn't ask them to train very hard, but after class, these students rushed towards the tea stove like crazy.
In just a short while, the tea in the teapot was gone.
Lin Yilan sighed. If someone didn’t know, they would probably think that she had done something to these students.
"I'm so thirsty, I'm dying of thirst. Please let me get a glass of water quickly!" A girl hurriedly squeezed into the crowd and said dissatisfiedly.
Lin Yilan didn't think it was a big deal at first, but soon a serious dispute broke out among the students because of drinking water.
"I only drank two glasses of water. How could I possibly drink up such a huge teapot by myself?"
"It's you! When I first arrived, I saw with my own eyes that you were the last one to get water. I didn't even get a drink!"
After a while, the students were arguing with each other until their faces turned red and some of them raised their hands as if they were about to hit someone.
The scene was in chaos for a while, and Lin Yilan quickly stepped forward to stop it. "It's just a drink of water, I'll treat you all. Go to the service center to buy some water later. Whatever you want to drink, it's my treat!"
"I don't want any drinks. I just like plain water."
"Who doesn't like drinking plain water? I do too. It's healthy! It's all his fault. He drank all the water and that's why we have nothing to drink!"
.......
Lin Yilan didn't expect that this was not the old society. Just for a sip of water, the students had to quarrel so fiercely.
"Stop for a moment! Isn't there no water now? If you are really thirsty, just listen to me and give me some face." Lin Yilan turned around and glanced at the students gathered around her.
But they all seemed to be possessed, looking at the last male student who had received water with fiery eyes.
"If you don't listen to me, then I can only ask the principal to come and help me!" Lin Yilan scolded again.
"Okay, if you continue like this in the future, I will make you pay for it!" One of the male classmates pointed at the student and said sternly.
After the remaining group of people criticized him verbally, they dispersed reluctantly.
When Lin Yilan was left standing there alone, she actually couldn't believe what had just happened.
