Chapter 87: Thick Fog
Just as the two of them were arguing, Lin Pinyan suddenly remembered something. She gave Lin Yilan a devilish smile and said, "I forgot one thing. You must be in a difficult situation now, right? I see that Chu Xi has been quite popular with Huo Juncheng lately. Aren't you worried that your position as fiancée will be handed over to someone else someday?"
"Don't worry, I'm not worried at all. Even if it's given to Amao or Agou, it's better than letting you marry Huo Juncheng. However, you've worked hard for so many years, but Huo Juncheng still doesn't even bother to look at you, right?" After saying this, Lin Yilan glared at Lin Pinyan and turned to leave. Peter Zhang was here today, and even if there was a big conflict between her and Lin Pinyan, she didn't want to make it known to everyone.
Don't air your dirty laundry in public.
Lin Pinyan, however, was stubbornly clinging to Lin Yilan like a dog-skin plaster. Lin Yilan was almost reaching the door of the box, but she was still chattering away.
"What do you mean by that? Do you think Huo Juncheng won't abandon you now that he's accepted you as his fiancée? Lin Yilan, don't be so naive. In the adult world, everything is unknown!"
Lin Pinyan stood behind Lin Yilan like a shrew.
Lin Yilan took a breath. Since she refused the toast and had to drink the penalty wine, it was not her fault.
There happened to be a large vat next to them, with blue and white porcelain patterns printed on it, but it didn't look like porcelain but more like jade or something.
Immediately, Lin Yilan was so angry that she had no time to hesitate. She grabbed the big vat on the ground with one hand and threw it into the sky effortlessly. In an instant, the big vat shattered into pieces.
This was accompanied by Lin Pinyan's shrill scream.
"What are you doing!" A group of waiters came out from the side and surrounded Lin Yilan.
Originally, Lin Pinyan wanted to take advantage of this critical moment to follow Lin Yilan into the box so that she could take the opportunity to get close to Huo Juncheng.
But she hadn't expected Lin Yilan to have such a quick temper. She frightened Lin Pinyan so much that she stumbled backwards. Then she started cursing, "You're simply a lunatic. The Huo family actually approved a woman like you as their daughter-in-law. Anyone who marries you will be doomed!"
As he spoke, Lin Pinyan was still walking towards the door at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if he was afraid that if he walked a step slower, he would be caught and beaten by Lin Yilan.
Of course, Lin Yilan had that idea, but now she was surrounded by waiters and she really couldn't do anything else.
"This water tank is my husband's favorite. It cost more than five million when he bought it. How can you be like this! If you don't explain it clearly today, don't even think about leaving." The waiter called out, and suddenly several men who looked like thugs or bodyguards appeared from behind Lin Yilan. More than a dozen people surrounded Lin Yilan.
More than five million. Lin Yilan looked at the fragments on the ground in surprise. She never thought that she would get into trouble. She originally thought it was just a water tank.
"Are you guys taking this opportunity to blackmail me? You've left things worth over five million here. Aren't you afraid that they'll be broken by other customers?" Lin Yilan was furious. She looked at the broken pieces on the ground over and over again with a feeling of grievance.
Although those broken porcelain pieces look like jade, they have delicate patterns and a warm pottery texture.
But it is actually ceramic, so it seems that this big vat must be really valuable...
"How could you be so bad? The people who eat here are all well-known and influential. I don't know how someone like you can even eat here. You broke my husband's water jar, but instead of apologizing, you blame us. Did my husband know you would break the jar and deliberately leave it there, waiting for you to come and blackmail you?"
The waiter pointed at Lin Yilan and kept talking.
The quarrel outside attracted the attention of the people in the box.
When Huo Juncheng pushed open the door and came out, he saw Lin Yilan surrounded by these people. Although he didn't know what was going on, Huo Juncheng walked straight towards Lin Yilan.
"You two are in this together, right? This young lady broke my husband's favorite water tank. How are you going to solve this problem?"
"However much it costs? I'll pay you." Huo Juncheng said as he was about to take out his card and give it to the waiter. He didn't want to make things too complicated as long as the problem could be solved with money.
The waiter rolled his eyes at Huo Juncheng and scoffed, "This is my husband's favorite piece of art. It can't be measured by money. I need to ask my husband what he thinks."
After the waiter finished speaking, he took out his cell phone and walked to the side.
Peter Zhang and his group in the box had already eaten and drunk their fill, and just at this moment they walked out.
"I really want to thank Mr. Huo for his hospitality this time. It is our honor to eat such authentic Chinese food. I hope our future cooperation will be smooth!" Peter Zhang's cheeks were as red as persimmons. Before leaving, he held Huo Juncheng's hand tightly and spoke excitedly.
Huo Juncheng just responded with a faint smile. He gave Chu Xi a look, indicating that Chu Xi should take them out.
"I'll leave Peter Zhang to you." Huo Juncheng instructed Chu Xi, then returned to Lin Yilan, waiting for the owner of the club to respond.
After a long while, the waiter came back and said, "My husband said that for Mr. Huo's sake, we can let this matter go on. But at least you have to compensate me with an identical celadon porcelain vase."
Huo Juncheng agreed without a second thought. The waiter then added, "My husband has kept this jar for 25 years. Mr. Huo agreed so quickly, and I hope you can be just as quick and efficient in handling matters."
Twenty-five years, that is to say, this green-glazed porcelain vase was bought by the owner of this club twenty-five years ago. Perhaps the person who made this thing has already passed away?
Lin Yilan was stunned with surprise, she stared at Huo Juncheng in a daze.
This is an impossible task.
After receiving some instructions from the boss, the waiter did not make things difficult for Lin Yilan and Huo Juncheng and let them go directly.
On the way back, Lin Yilan looked at the scenery outside the window and was unhappy. "If I had known it would be like this, I shouldn't have messed with the tank. I will definitely learn my lesson and never mess around with things outside like I did today..."
Lin Yilan's tone was very lonely when she spoke, and it was obvious that she really knew she was wrong.
But what Huo Juncheng couldn't guess was that the owner of the club actually knew him?
