Seeing Wen Guoer open the door, Chu Ying picked up the net bag with difficulty and walked into the yard.
Wen Guoer moved aside to the door and then followed him into the yard.
"What are you doing?" She was a little confused. This was Miss Chu!
"Hurry up, let me wash my face! I'm so tired! I didn't expect two melons to be so heavy. If I had known, I would have only carried one!"
Chu Ying unceremoniously picked up the basin on the ground and carried it to the well to pump water.
The freshly drawn well water splashed on her face. The cool and refreshing feeling made her stand up, raise her head, and take a deep breath.
The morning sunlight shone through the rose trellis onto her smooth profile.
The undried water droplets on the face sparkled with fluorescent light, emitting the youthful vigor and energy everywhere.
"Why are you staring at me?" Chu Ying lowered his head and saw Wen Guoer sitting under the flower stand, staring at him.
"Look at you!" Wen Guoer glanced at her and joked.
"I'll chill the watermelon for you with well water. Come try it later. It's so sweet!"
Chu Ying said this as he picked up the bucket and went to pump water, completely ignoring Wen Guoer's opinion.
Wen Guoer was speechless about her outspoken temper and smiled secretly with her head down.
"Just soak the watermelon by the well! Yi Ru and I just made some delicious food, come and try it."
Wen Guoer went to the kitchen and brought back a plate of prepared lotus seed cake, and sat with Yi Ru at the round table under the flower stand.
"You know what, this little courtyard of yours is really nice! Smell the flowers, enjoy the cool breeze, and even have delicious food!"
Chu Ying walked over, picked up a piece of lotus seed cake, and took a bite!
"Mmmmm~ So fragrant and sweet! Did you really make this yourself?"
Chu Ying couldn't help it, so he stuffed the half piece in his hand into his mouth and muttered.
