Chapter 205: Love on a Snowy Day

"I've been staying at your place for almost a week now, and I've never seen you cook. Your friend is really a big shot. It looks like Lu Jun and I can have something good to eat tomorrow too."

Su Xing walked into the kitchen and saw Lan Guoer pickling fish and chopping meat, and said sourly.

"It's precisely because you live here every day that I'm not being polite to you! Otherwise, why don't you try coming here once every few years and see if I'll treat you well?"

Lan Guoer rolled her eyes at him, her hands moving non-stop.

Su Xing smiled and shook his head: "Then let's not do that! For a meal, it's okay not to live in this house, but not letting me see my sister is not okay!"

As he spoke, he snatched the knife from Lan Guoer's hand and said, "You stand aside, I'll do the heavy work!"

Lan Guoer didn't bother to be polite with him. She secretly took out bamboo sticks from the space, sat down beside him, and started skewering the meat.

Su Xing and the others didn't know where they bought half a lamb. Lan Guoer felt that it would be a shame not to grill some skewers on such a rare opportunity.

So I thought, let’s have a barbecue together tomorrow!

She happened to have a barbecue grill and litchi charcoal in her space. In the winter, everyone would sit around the stove and enjoy the barbecue, which was quite interesting.

Unexpectedly, snowflakes started falling from the sky the next morning!

When Wen Guoer came out of the room early in the morning, she was attracted by the snow scene in front of her.

Snowflakes danced in the sky above the Chinese-style quadrangle. The entire courtyard was covered in a white veil, becoming a silvery white. She couldn't help but feel a strong sense of unreality!

It seems that she has been in this world for a whole year...

At this time, outside the gate, a tall figure walked in against the wind and snow.

The man looked up and saw the little woman he had been thinking about standing in the corridor wearing a camel-colored wool coat.

Her smooth black hair was lazily draped over her shoulders, and her pink little face was a little red, perhaps because she was cold. Snowflakes that had just fallen were still floating on her palms that were stretched out outside the corridor.

The two of them stared at each other across the snow, as if they had made an appointment. For a moment, neither of them spoke! But their affection instantly filled the entire yard, enveloping them both.

After a long while, Tang Zhan walked towards Lan Guoer, took off his coat, and put it on her shoulders: "Why don't you sleep a little longer? You're up so early."

"I thought it was daybreak, but when I woke up I realized it was snowing. Why are you back so early in the morning? I thought you wouldn't be back this week."

Tang Zhan held her in his arms from behind, holding her hand to keep her warm. "Something happened in the team yesterday, and it was very late when I finished, so I didn't come back. This morning, there happened to be a team car coming into Beijing, so I took a ride."

"If you're really busy, don't rush! Now that we have grandma and Qinghe to take care of us at home, my mother and I are much more relaxed and can handle it."

At that time, transportation was not that convenient and the road conditions were not good! Because of his vacation and going home, Tang Zhan did not want to always use the bus.

Lan Guoer felt that if he came back in the morning and rushed back in the afternoon, it would take him four or five hours to go back and forth! It was so tiring and laborious that it really wasn't worth it!

Tang Zhan knew his wife was worried about him, so he hugged her tighter: "I've spent too little time with you guys! I'll feel at ease when I come back to see you."

Lan Guoer knew that the man had made up his mind and there was no point in saying more, so she stopped trying to persuade him.

"Chu Ying and Yi Ru agreed to come over today. Now that it's snowing, I wonder if they can still come?"

Tang Zhan glanced at the snowflakes drifting in the courtyard: "The snow isn't heavy, and the bus hasn't stopped yet, so it shouldn't be a big deal."

Lan Guoer smiled coquettishly: "I prepared a lot of meat skewers and planned to grill them today! If they don't come, it will be a big loss."

"That's truly their loss! Xiao Gao keeps talking about wanting to eat the food you cook!"

"Then I'll prepare some more today, and you can take it back and eat with him. It's cold now, so it's easier to store the food!"

"No need! What doesn't the cafeteria have? It's not even enough for that kid to eat, so why do you need to prepare it for him?" Tang Zhan refused with some dissatisfaction.

Lan Guoer smiled and was about to tease him a few words when she heard Tang's mother's loud voice:

"I say, you rascal, you're so out of control the moment you walk in! It's so cold, aren't you afraid the fruit will get frozen?"

"Mom, we're just about to go in." Tang Zhan rubbed his nose uncomfortably, hugged Lan Guoer and walked into the house. "It's so cold outside, Mom, why are you up so early?"

"It's Xiaobai again! Seeing Xiaoling wake up, he ran to grab my blanket." Tang's mother glanced helplessly into the room, "I think the other two are about to wake up, too. You guys go in and keep an eye on them."

"Little guys, you're in such good spirits!" Lan Guoer rubbed her hands and breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll go look after them."

Having said that, he went into the house with Tang Zhan.

When Xiao Nuan, who had just woken up, saw her parents, she immediately smiled so much that her eyes curved into crescents.

"Xiao Nuan, do you miss your daddy?" Tang Zhan picked her up and rubbed his forehead against her chest.

Xiao Nuan was lifted high up by her father and then held firmly in his arms, giggling comfortably.

Xiao Ling and Xiao Lie saw their sister laughing happily, so they also hugged her little feet and laughed along.

Tang Zhan skillfully changed their diapers one by one, dressed them, watched his wife start to feed them, and then attentively prepared milk powder for them.

"Wife, since you have to feed them with formula anyway, why not just stop breastfeeding them? That way you can be more relaxed." Tang Zhan prepared three bottles of milk, stuffed one into Xiao Nuan's mouth, and discussed with his wife.

"Let's wait until they're six months old! The hospital knows I'm taking care of the kids, and they haven't asked me for anything lately. I figured I'd just feed them for a while longer."

Seeing that his wife had her own plans, Tang Zhan didn't say anything more.

After breakfast, Lan Guoer began to prepare the dishes for the barbecue.

Regardless of whether Chu Ying and the others can come, we still have two big foodies at home! We still need to prepare what needs to be prepared.

The skewers of meat and fish from last night have been marinated, and she also skewered some potato chips, sweet potato chips, tofu... and other vegetarian dishes.

As noon approached, Su Xing couldn't wait any longer:

"I wonder if your friends are coming? Why don't we light a fire and wait?"

Lan Guoer really had no idea, so she just let him go.
