Chapter 20 Pregnant with a Fool's Child

"Mom, something big has happened, something big has happened again!" After Zhao Lai Di finished paying New Year's greetings, she was the last one to return home, shouting as she ran.

"It's New Year's Day, why are you making such a fuss? Didn't I give you anything to eat or drink?" Tang's mother couldn't help but want to pick up the broom again.

"Mom, something really happened. Our Guo'er... coughs... coughs..." Zhao Lai Di coughed because of the cold air.

"Our Guo'er is doing fine at home, what happened?" Tang's mother became anxious when she saw that she couldn't explain clearly.

"The police just came and took our Guo'er's parents to the police station." Zhao Lai Di finally explained the situation clearly.

"Ah? Why was he taken away when he was fine?" Tang's mother muttered to herself.

"The police didn't say anything, just said they were taking him back for investigation."

Everyone in the room had heard roughly what had happened. Wen Guoer, standing at the door, had also heard it, her expression natural, neither sad nor happy. Tang Zhan held her hand, and she smiled back.

She had no feelings for her parents. The original owner's memories of her past with them were becoming increasingly hazy, with only some very sad moments left to recall.

Wen Guoer couldn't help but wonder how indifferent the original owner was to this world, so that there were only a few memories left in his memory.

Seeing that Wen Guoer didn't react much, everyone went back to the house.

Tang's mother was preparing things with several of her sisters-in-law for their return visit to their parents' homes on the second day of the Lunar New Year.

Wen Guoer held the grown-up wolf cub in her arms and stroked its fur. The little thing's fur was becoming smoother and smoother.

"Do you want to go out for a walk?" Tang Zhan asked her.

"Okay, let's go for a walk at the foot of the mountain. It snowed all night yesterday. There are not many people at the foot of the mountain, so let's go build a snowman." Wen Guoer suggested excitedly.

In fact, Wen Guoer wanted to go skiing. She had a full set of ski equipment in her space. In her previous life, skiing was also her favorite sport, but she couldn't reveal anything!

The two of them took precautions against the cold, walked on the thick snow, and wrapped themselves tightly as they headed towards the mountains.

Standing at the foot of the mountain, looking at the towering mountains that blended into the snow, Wen Guoer suddenly wanted to shout:

“Humans are so insignificant!”

She broke free from Tang Zhan's hand, lay down in the snow willfully, and looked up at the sky.

In such a pure scene where only white was left, she suddenly missed her family from her previous life.

Her father, mother, and three brothers who were always unreliable but loved her very much.

I wonder if she is dead in that world? Are her parents and brothers doing well?

She looked up at the sky, hoping that the sky could help her convey a message. She wanted to tell her family far away: Don’t be sad, live a good life.

Tang Zhanping lay beside her, turned his head to look at her, and just saw a tear sliding down the corner of her eye.

He turned over and hugged her, kissing away her tears.

He didn't understand why she shed this tear, why it was impossible!

He lifted her up from the snow, carried her on his back and walked slowly at the foot of the mountain, leaving behind a trail of deep footprints.

"Fourth brother, look!"

Not far ahead, I saw a series of lonely footprints extending into the mountains.

Tang Zhan also noticed something was wrong. Who would go up the mountain alone during New Year's Day?

The two men approached.

"Judging from the size of the footprints, they should be from a woman or a child," Wen Guoer said as she measured the footprints.

"It's a woman." Tang Zhan said with certainty.

"Woman? Isn't it dangerous to go up the mountain alone now?"

"There is no snow in the footprints. They must have been stepped on not long ago. They should not have walked far. Let's follow them and see." Tang Zhan took Wen Guoer's hand and walked up along the leg prints.

Sure enough, after walking a short distance, I saw a woman standing on a small hill with disheveled hair, who was about to jump down.

Wen Guoer was about to call for a stop when she saw Tang Zhan give a helping hand and then a flying pounce, so fast that only an afterimage was left.

The woman heard the noise and was taken away from the danger zone before she could react.

"Why did you save me? You want me to die. If I live, I will only be despised and laughed at." The woman struggled and tried to jump down the hillside.

"Can you first tell us why you want to die?" Wen Guoer asked.

When she saw her appearance, she knew who she was. The original owner had some impression of her.

"My reputation is ruined, and I'm pregnant with that idiot's child. I'd rather be dead than alive." A person who is determined to die has no reserve at all. Sun Zhiqing answered her question truthfully.

"If you didn't have this child, could you survive?" Wen Guoer asked directly.

"No children? Is it possible to live without children?" Sun Zhiqing fell into thought, a bewildered look on her face. Perhaps she could persist in living without children...

People are always like this. When they reach a dead end, if there is a chance to make a choice, no one is willing to hit the wall directly unless it is absolutely necessary.

"If you are willing to live well without this child, I can help you." Wen Guoer looked at her and waited for her answer.

"How are you going to help me?" Sun Zhiqing got the answer and asked with confusion.

"I have a pill here. After taking it, the baby will be aborted on its own. It will just be a little painful..."

"I'm not afraid of death anymore, so pain is nothing." Sun Zhiqing lowered his head dejectedly.

"It's too cold, let's go down the mountain. I'll give you the medicine when we get home." Wen Guoer stepped forward and helped Sun Zhiqing walk down together.

Tang Zhan looked at his young wife, who was clear-headed and had assessed the situation well, and saved a man who was determined to die. He felt extremely proud in his heart.
