Chapter 62: Cloning Factory (4)

Although he had eaten less earlier, for some reason, it seemed as if the food was digested very quickly. Not long after walking, Xu Qianxing's stomach began to growl.

"When I think of Bai Shi and Chen Bao eating their fill, I get so angry that my teeth itch." His eyes were filled with hatred, revealing a mixture of hunger and hatred. He covered his stomach with his palms and gritted his teeth as he uttered a cruel word: "If I see them again, I will definitely beat them up!"

"Didn't they say the next room is the restaurant?" Qin Dai was ahead of him. His situation was not much better than his, but he still wanted to encourage him: "Maybe we won't have to starve in the restaurant."

"That would be great." Xu Qianxing continued to walk forward with one foot deep and one foot shallow, with unsteady steps.

Yu Qirong thought he would not feel hungry, but at this moment, he actually had some signs of hunger in his stomach.

He knew he didn't need to eat, but his physiological reaction told him that he was as hungry as everyone else.

Yu Qirong tilted his head, pressed his hands on his abdomen, and touched it with a frown. From the appearance alone, he was no different from other hungry players, so naturally there was nothing eye-catching about him.

Su Tang noticed his movements, took a few quick steps, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Are you hungry? I still have some leftover food."

Yu Qirong looked up at him strangely, "You don't need to eat?"

Yu Qirong then remembered that he didn't seem to see Su Tang eat anything. He just pretended to drink a few sips of water, but he appeared to be full of energy and seemed to be in much better condition than the other players who were too hungry to walk.

But even I can feel hungry, but Su Tang can’t?

Su Tang noticed his look and was a little surprised. After a few seconds, he explained, "I have other food stored in the warehouse."

Yu Qirong's eyelashes drooped, and she shook her head, rejecting Su Tang's kindness.

This is not a question of whether to eat or not. Perhaps it is the setting of the copy, so eating is useless.

Lin Huanhuan held the map and walked in front with Liu Ke, comparing with reference objects while looking for the direction they should go.

Although there are conspicuous tables and chairs everywhere, most of them look similar, making it difficult to distinguish them.

At first I walked confidently and with direction, but as I walked I slowed down.

"It should be here." Lin Huanhuan stopped and compared the paper map in her hand repeatedly. Looking at the decoration in front of her that was exactly the same as other places, she became less and less confident in herself, "Could I have taken the wrong direction?"

"Don't tell me that we've been walking for so long and are walking the wrong way?" Xu Qianxing was already very hungry. When he heard Lin Huanhuan say this, he immediately got anxious. He snatched the map away and said, "What architecture student? Why don't I take a look myself?"

"..." Lin Huanhuan looked at Xu Qianxing a little aggrieved. She felt that the path she was taking was right, but the scene before her told her that it was wrong.

Xu Qianxing put the map on the table, unfolded it, propped himself up on the office chair, and stared at the map with bloodshot eyes.

Others also gathered around and looked at the map, which was not very complicated.

Yu Qirong looked at them from a distance across the crowd.

Looking at this map is enough for high school geography. Remember the landmarks along the way and you shouldn't be wrong.

But why are there no restaurants?

"Could it be that there is something wrong with the handmade map..." Qin Dai guessed.

"Impossible. Yesterday we compared the electronic map with the paper map. They are exactly the same." Fang Qian pushed the professor along the way, no more relaxed than anyone else. Her gray base top left a large dark mark on her back. "If we are wrong, then Chen Bao and the others won't be right either."

Relatively speaking, the professor is the most relaxed one among them, both mentally and physically.

He confirmed Lin Huanhuan's judgment, "Our direction should be correct. At least according to this map, we are always on the right path."

"What about the restaurant?" Xu Qianxing couldn't listen to these words. He was so hungry that his head hurt. When he spoke, some veins on his neck were exposed. "If that's right, why can't I see the restaurant?"

"Maybe the restaurant here is different from what we subjectively judged." Yu Qirong said behind them.

Everyone turned around and saw Yu Qirong standing there, analyzing seriously, "If this is the restaurant on the map, then it must be different from the parasitic room in front. Why don't we search separately first, maybe we can find some clues."

"This..." In fact, Fang Qian was already a little tired, and it was a bit difficult for her to continue searching under such circumstances.

"Let's split up," Yu Qirong found a pencil on the table and drew a few lines on the map. "Send one or two people out to look for clues and mark the lines along the way. The others can rest here and keep their strength. I can be the first group."

"I'll go with him." Su Tang said immediately.

This seems to be the most reasonable approach so far.

The professor was silent for a moment and then affirmed Yu Qirong's proposal.

The others sorted out the papers on their desks to see if they could find any useful clues. Yu Qirong and Su Tang set off with the hope of the group.

The way to make a mark is to wrap a small rubber band.

Everyone searched through the warehouse but couldn't find any colored pens or ropes to mark things. Finally, Liu Ke took out the rubber band she used to tie her braids.

It's a stack, and it's colorful. Apart from being a little small, it has great potential for use as a marker.

Yu Qirong rummaged through his pocket and randomly pulled out a small pink rubber band. He stretched it a few times and then wrapped it around the neck of the small desk lamp.

They had walked so far that they couldn't see anyone else when they looked back.

Su Tang followed him. Wherever Yu Qirong went, he followed. Apart from that, he did nothing else.

Yu Qirong took out his pocket twice and motioned for Su Tang to stretch out his hand.

Su Tang stretched out his hand in confusion, and then watched Yu Qirong put five small rubber bands in his hand.

"Go over there and take a look." Yu Qirong said.

Su Tang seemed to have not heard what he said. He stared at the small rubber band in his hand with shining eyes and answered irrelevantly: "Is it for me?"

"I'm giving it to you so you can use it as a mark." Yu Qirong replied.

Su Tang seemed to have only heard the first part, blocking out the rest. He happily put it away, then as if remembering something, he pursed his lips, "But you still didn't tell me what you gave me in the other world."

Yu Qirong pinched her brows with a headache. She didn't expect Su Tang to be so persistent.

"Did you give this to me in the other world?" Su Tang had already wrapped the rubber band around his hand. He raised his hand and shook it at Yu Qirong, as if he was showing off the particularly expensive bracelet on his hand.

"No."

Su Tang from other worlds might not like this thing either.

Yu Qirong vaguely felt that this Su Tang was different from other Su Tangs, but no matter how he looked at it, it seemed like they were the same shell.

The personality has changed so much that I feel like amnesia is not enough to explain the problem, unless it is just a different person in the shell.

Su Tang hadn't realized that Yu Qirong felt that he was possessing someone else's body. He only heard Yu Qirong say that this was something he only had, and his mood suddenly became cheerful.

Originally I just wanted something that Su Tang had, but I didn't expect that I could get something that Su Tang didn't have now.

But in an instant, his face darkened again. The main reason why he was able to obtain this thing was because...

Yu Qirong didn't notice his change of expression. He just saw him turn around to explore other places. He didn't hang around in front of him anymore, so he calmed down and continued his exploration.

When communicating clues with other players before, Yu Qirong got a very important piece of information, which was sound.

Qin Dai said that the "crunching" sound he heard in the middle of the night was like something gnawing at him. He spoke very sincerely and it did not sound like an auditory hallucination caused by nervous tension.

So Yu Qirong paid special attention to the surrounding environment along the way, but unfortunately he didn't find anything suspicious.

He took out a small rubber band and wrapped it around the lamp.

Just after wrapping it around once, I heard a very faint sound from under the table.

If there was no one around and he was concentrating so hard, he probably wouldn't have heard it at all.

Yu Qirong's gaze fell on a place slightly below - perhaps his direction was wrong. Qin Dai could hear it, but the reason he couldn't hear it was because of the height from the ground?

He squatted down tentatively, supporting himself with one hand and pressing the sunken leather seat cover with the other, and tilted his head to search under the desk.

The soft hair brushed against the hair on her neck, making her feel itchy and as if her nerve endings were being irritated.

Animal alertness reaches a high level of vigilance at this second.

It was pitch black under the table, with no light coming through, but it would be foolish to put my hand in there rashly.

After thinking for a moment, Yu Qirong took out a small flower umbrella from the warehouse.

This umbrella comes in handy right now.

Yu Qirong poked around in the shadow under the table but couldn't feel anything, so he had to admit that there was probably nothing underneath.

When he was about to grab the handle to pull the umbrella out, his face suddenly changed and he realized that the umbrella seemed to be heavier.

Yu Qirong had a cold face. He tightly grasped the umbrella handle with his right hand, slowed down the speed of dragging the umbrella, and then suddenly dragged it out. He immediately shook his right hand, threw the creature lying on the umbrella down, and then held it down with the tip of the umbrella.

"Squeak--" A shrill cry that seemed to tear the eardrums rang out. Su Tang stopped the work in his hands, frowned and walked towards the direction of the cry.

Seeing Yu Qirong's standing back from a distance, he heaved a sigh of relief, slowed down his pace, and asked as he walked: "What's wrong?"

When Yu Qirong heard the footsteps, he slightly leaned sideways and turned to look at Su Tang with a puzzled look on his face. He tapped the ground with the hand holding the umbrella handle, shaking off a layer of sawdust.

Su Tang lowered his eyes and saw a rat lying in a pool of blood on the tin-colored floor, pierced by the tip of an umbrella.

It's not quite accurate to say that it's a mouse, because in Yu Qirong's cognition, no matter what kind of mouse in the biology textbook, it doesn't look like this: six small and densely packed eyes, emitting a faint green light; the fur on its body stands upright and stiff like steel needles, and its claws are so sharp that they can easily cut human skin at a glance.

Obviously this is a rat with extremely serious mutation.
