Chapter 78 Going Home

Chapter 78 Going Home

The area at the top of the mountain is neither very large nor very small.

After Pei Ning and his group went up the mountain, they immediately occupied the best viewing area. Several men sat lazily together, talking and playing on their phones, but their gazes drifted away intermittently.

An Jin was tying a silk scarf, and after she finished, she started taking pictures.

She stood under the tree taking pictures, and the autumn sun made her skin whiter than the winter snow.

Pei Ning looked at it from afar without saying a word.

"You're so beautiful, Yan Yan. Did you find out anything?"

The speaker was Chi Weinian, and the Yan Yan he mentioned was the taller of the two girls.

The moment he started asking Yan Yan about An Jin, all the men sitting together turned their attention to Yan Yan. This sent a chill down the spines of Yan Yan and the other girl.

Yan Yan: "I found out. The man's name is Yan Qing, the prettiest girl among the three is An Jin, and the other girl is Zhang Yuanyuan. Yan Qing and Zhang Yuanyuan are cousins."

"An Jin is a popular streamer, would you like to see her game account?"

Upon hearing the word "anchor," Chi Weinian raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, "She's an anchor?"

Yan Yan glanced at Pei Ning, who had been listening to her without saying a word, and nodded.

"Hmm, she's a game streamer on the Tadpole platform. Would you like to check out her profile?"

Chi Weinian laughed: "I never expected to run into my fellow traveler while hiking. I also never expected that you, Yan Yan, would be able to find out An Jin's live streaming account."

Yan Yan smiled slightly, and another girl chimed in, "An Jin didn't want to tell us at first, but as soon as Yan Yan mentioned sending her gifts, she immediately gave us her account information. You didn't see it, but when she heard us say we wanted to send her gifts, her eyes lit up."

Upon hearing this, Pei Ning actually smiled.

After listening to the information gathered by the two girls, Chi Weinian turned to the other men present and asked, "How is it, everyone?"

Is anyone interested in An Jin? If so, let's compete fairly; otherwise, I'll have to make my move.

Pei Ning looked into the distance, and the other men did the same.

Chi Weinian didn't react at first, but followed their gaze and saw An Jin changing clothes under Zhang Yuanyuan's cover.

However, because of their high vantage point, even with Yan Qing and Zhang Yuanyuan blocking their view, they could still vaguely see An Jin changing her clothes.

Pei Ning: "It's quite a coincidence, I know this An Jin."

Chi Weinian turned to look at Pei Ning, her tone slightly barbed: "What a coincidence?"

Pei Ning nodded and said to his friend, "Do you remember that little streamer I told you about last time?"

His friend, whose name was mentioned, widened his eyes: "It's her?"

Pei Ning: "It's her."

Chi Weinian and the others looked at the two who were speaking in riddles with complete bewilderment.

Yan Yan spoke up at the opportune moment, asking, "Brother Pei, what are you talking about?"

When a girl starts off, these men who are speaking in riddles always have to give her some face.

"He didn't say anything. Your brother Pei told us a long time ago that he had his eye on a small streamer. We just didn't expect it to be such a coincidence that we ran into each other while we were hiking."

Is it really that much of a coincidence?

Yan Yan didn't believe it.

She subtly glanced at Pei Ning and Chi Weinian.

A group of men started talking about the coincidence, and Chi Weinian chimed in, saying, "Since it's such a coincidence, I'll be the one to bring them together this noon."

Pei Ning looked at Chi Weinian: "Okay, then you can play matchmaker."

Chi Weinian stood up and winked at Yan Yan: "Yan Yan, come help me."

Yan Yan readily agreed and stood up: "Okay."

She followed behind Chi Weinian, walking step by step toward An Jin and the other two who were taking pictures. The further she walked, the more determined she became.

What a coincidence!

It's such a coincidence that An Jin was noticed by Pei Ning, and it's also such a coincidence that Chi Weinian is a live streamer just like An Jin.

An Jin, who was taking pictures, stopped and looked at Chi Weinian and the other person who were walking over.

"What's up?"

An Jin frowned.

Chi Weinian smiled and took out his cigarette case to offer cigarettes, but he was met with three rejections in a row. None of the three people smoked, so he had no choice but to put the cigarette case away.

Chi Weinian: "It's nothing serious."

An Jin slapped a mosquito to death. Impatient with beating around the bush with Chi Weinian, she said directly, "So it's a small matter?"

Chi Weinian nodded: "I heard that you're also a streamer, An'an?"

An Jin glanced at Yan Yan and nodded, "Mm."

Chi Weinian laughed and said, "What a coincidence, I'm also a Tadpole streamer, but I heard you're a game streamer, so our categories aren't the same."

Not only are they not together, but their target audiences are completely opposite, which is a major reason why Chi Weinian has never heard of An Jin, the anchor.

When An Jin heard the word "tadpole," she finally lost some patience.

She looked up at Chi Weinian: "It is quite a coincidence."

However, with countless tadpole streamers, An Jin's reaction to encountering a fellow streamer was rather indifferent.

Chi Weinian hadn't expected An Jin to be so difficult to talk to. Perhaps An Jin had no intention of getting to know them well at all. In their conversation, not a single sentence from An Jin could get Chi Weinian to respond smoothly.

Chi Weinian smiled and immediately dropped a bombshell: "Not only that, there's something even more coincidental."

An Jin looked at Chi Weinian, who was keeping her in suspense, and asked with little interest, "Anything else?"

Chi Weinian: "A friend of mine has been following you since you were a small-time streamer. He really likes you. Now that we've met, I wonder if I could put in a good word for my friend and invite you to have a meal with him."

An Jin laughed: "Your friend isn't yourself, is it?"

In her past life, when she was flirting with beautiful women, the conversation techniques she used were far superior to those of Chi Weinian.

Chi Weinian: "Of course it wasn't me. Just think of me as a middleman. My friend is shy, so he asked me to invite you."

With Chi Weinian having said this much, An Jin naturally relented.

"Sure, let's have lunch together then, but I'll have to add two of my friends. I don't know if you mind."

An Jin had already become somewhat impatient when Chi Weinian approached, and now, seeing Chi Weinian's repeated invitations, even though she didn't originally want to have dinner with them, she impatiently agreed.

Chi Weinian didn't mind the request for two more: "Of course I don't mind."

He looked at the camera in Yan Qing's hand and suggested, "Would you like me to take some photos for you? I'm pretty good at taking pictures too."

Yan Qing's face darkened instantly; he understood what Chi Weinian meant.

Chi Weinian treated him like an assistant and didn't take him seriously at all.

However, he wasn't foolish enough to directly refute Chi Weinian; instead, he looked at An Jin and observed her expression.

An Jin looked at Chi Weinian with annoyance and rejected his suggestion outright.

She was already annoyed enough by agreeing to have dinner with them, and no matter how good Chi Weinian's photography skills were, she couldn't trust a stranger.

Chi Weinian was not annoyed by the rejection. He waved his hand and said, "Then I won't bother you anymore. Do you have any dietary restrictions? We'll have someone bring some charcoal over there."

An Jin shook her head: "There are no dietary restrictions. You go ahead, I'll come over after I finish taking the photos."

Chi Weinian then nodded to Zhang Yuanyuan and Yan Qing, whose faces were not looking good, and took Yan Yan back.

Once the other person was out of sight, Zhang Yuanyuan whispered to An Jin, "An'an, why did you agree to him?"

An Jin didn't hide anything from Zhang Yuanyuan. In front of Yan Qing, she said directly, "I already refused once when we were climbing the mountain. Now they're saying that if I don't agree, they might bother us later. We might as well just agree. Anyway, they're paying for it, so why not take advantage of it?"

Zhang Yuanyuan thought about it and agreed: "They're so annoying."

An Jin wasn't in a hurry to take pictures. She squatted down and started rummaging through the travel bag on her back. As she did so, she reminded the two of them, "I think all these people are here for me. I don't know if what that guy surnamed Chi said is true or false. If one of them is really my boss, you two keep an eye on me. I'll definitely have to have a few drinks with him."

Even if what Chi Weinian said was false, it wouldn't matter. An Jin would get a free meal and two memberships, so she wouldn't lose out.

Zhang Yuanyuan reacted quickly and looked at her cousin: "Cousin, don't drink alcohol later."

If you get drunk and blurt out your relationship with An'an, you're doomed. If the female anchor's relationship is exposed, the boss will run away.

Yan Qing misunderstood. He thought Zhang Yuanyuan meant for him to be on guard, so he nodded and said, "I know."

After the three of them had finished talking, An Jin changed into another set of clothes and continued filming the video.

As the photo shoot came to an end, An Jin, dressed in a white halter dress, arrived at the bustling barbecue site with two taciturn followers.

Although it's advertised as a self-service barbecue, there are actually staff members at the barbecue area to help with the grilling.

When An Jin and her group arrived, the group was sitting together chatting animatedly.

Chi Weinian was the one who stood up to welcome An Jin and her group. He stood up with a smile and immediately nudged his friend sitting next to him to make room for them.

He even shamelessly greeted An Jin, "An Jin, sit here."

An Jin glanced at Chi Weinian's seat, shook her head, and said frankly, "That won't do. I have to sit with someone I know."

She looked at everyone present and asked with a grin, "Where's my boss? It's such a coincidence that we can meet in person, I'll toast you twice."

An Jin's words were straightforward, and Pei Ning, who was called upon, said, "Sit next to me."

An Jin looked at Pei Ning.

The young man sat on a stool, his windbreaker open, revealing his abs, which were barely concealed by his T-shirt.

Pei Ning has striking features, deep-set eyes, and slightly blue pupils, clearly indicating that she has foreign genes from her ancestors.

He's a pretty good-looking guy.

An Jin thought to herself.

She didn't rush to sit down, but first arranged a seat for the flustered Zhang Yuanyuan, then coaxed the sullen Yan Qing to sit down, before sitting down next to Pei Ning without any hurry.

Seeing that she was taking so long to arrive, Pei Ning couldn't help but say sarcastically, "An'an, you're really hard to get."

One invitation wasn't enough; we had to invite them again.

Pei Ning, relying on his good looks and assets, has never experienced being rejected by a girl.

After doing live streams for so long, An Jin is practically splitting into two halves.

Half of her is An An during live streams, with an outgoing and lively personality; the other is An Jin when she's not live streaming, a quiet and lazy person.

She acts one way when she's with Yan Qing and Zhang Yuanyuan, but she acts completely different now that she's met her boss in person.

"I'm here now, you know. It's not like I asked you to invite me, it's not like it's Chi... Chi..."

An Jin, as always, had a bad memory. She looked at Chi Weinian and asked, "What's your name again?"

Chi Weinian smiled faintly: "Chi Weinian."

An Jin turned to Pei Ning: "Yes, Chi something-year."

Pei Ning chuckled at An Jin's inability to remember names. He looked at An Jin and asked, "Do you know my name?"

An Jin reached into the grilled skewers in front of her and picked through them without turning her head, saying, "I don't know, you didn't say."

Pei Ning was speechless: "You didn't have breakfast?"

He went there specifically for the barbecue; isn't Pei Ning more tempted by a plate of grilled skewers?

An Jin casually steered the conversation off-topic: "You've eaten? You've been climbing for over three hours, aren't you hungry?"

Pei Ning was hungry.

But Pei Ning wasn't hungry.

He took a deep breath, met the smiles hidden in the eyes of his friends and brothers, and tried to steer the conversation back on track.

"What kind of guest are you? Ignoring the host and only caring about eating?"

An Jin turned around and shoved a skewer of grilled meat she had carefully selected into Pei Ning's hand: "Alright, stop being a master, hurry up and eat it, the skewers won't taste good if they get cold."

Pei Ning's expensive clothes were stained with chili powder. He gritted his teeth and glared at An Jin, who was eating heartily: "An An! Is this how you treat your boss?!"

"So what? What's wrong with treating you like this? Are you going to post this about me online tomorrow?"

After An Jin finished speaking in a strange voice, she began to frantically chew on the beef skewers in her mouth. Even though they were sitting far away across the table, she ordered Yan Qing, who was sitting quite a distance away, to open a drink for her.

The man next to her saw this and casually opened a bottle of drink for An Jin and handed it to her.

An Jin didn't answer, continuing to order Yan Qing around while joking with the well-meaning man: "Thanks, but you know, brother, I'm a big-name livestreamer. A woman of my status usually has her meals and drinks served by her assistants."

Everyone present was smiling; even Yan Qing, who had been wearing a dark expression, had a hint of a smile on his face.

He opened the drink and placed it in front of An Jin. Before he even returned to his seat, he heard An Jin asking Pei Ning a question.

"What's your name, boss?"

Pei Ning looked at An Jin: "Pei Ning."

An Jin chuckled mischievously, "Who asked about your name?"

Pei Ning took a bite of barbecue, glanced sideways at An Jin, and deliberately beat around the bush with her: "So, which name do you want me to ask?"

An Jin: "Name the person who sends me gifts."

Pei Ning casually asked, "What, are you so curious?"

An Jin flashed a gleam of white teeth and chuckled, "You know, this determines how I'll treat you later."

Pei Ning straightened up: "Oh? I'm quite curious how you're going to treat them differently."

An Jin put down the skewers and demurely wiped her mouth: "Watch carefully."

Pei Ning looked at her with a puzzled expression: "What are you going to do?"

An Jin immediately stood up and ran away, cursing, "Fuck you, if you don't tell me your name you're definitely not my boss. If you're not my boss, why would I eat with you? I'm leaving."
