Chapter 86 PK
7 PM.
After finishing the training match, An Jin, urged by Mr. Crab, sent A Yan a PK invitation.
Holding chopsticks in her left hand and a bowl in her right, she chewed as she opened the Tadpole app and went into Ayan's live stream to stalk her.
Mr. Crab hadn't eaten yet either, while An Jin was munching away, making the viewers in the live stream drool. Every night from 7 to 8 pm, the chat in An Jin's live stream was filled with people talking about what to eat that night.
Mr. Crab usually eats dinner at eight o'clock. Seeing that An Jin was eating with relish, he felt hungry too. Without thinking, he sent a message to his aunt, asking her to bring some food over first.
"We'll wait a bit, she's still playing. She'll connect with us once she's finished."
After finishing her conversation with the people in the live stream, An Jin buried her head in her rice bowl and started eating voraciously.
She eats on the screen, while Mr. Krabs eats off the screen.
While eating, An Jin also shared what she had eaten that day with the people in the live stream.
She likes to eat meat but dislikes vegetables. Tonight's dinner included a lot of vegetables that she hates, which made her grimace as she chewed them.
The air in An Jin's live stream room smelled delicious, while A Yan, who was in the middle of a PK battle, saw An Jin's request to connect and PK with her in the background and immediately felt a jolt in her heart.
What's meant to happen will happen. Ayan had prepared herself mentally before the broadcast, but when death was truly imminent, she still felt very sad.
She also considered not going live today if things didn't work out.
But after much deliberation, rather than being a coward and choosing not to broadcast in order to avoid being "beaten up" today, it would be better to broadcast honestly and let Mr. Krabs vent his anger without any worries.
With a smile, Ayan said goodbye to the other host and accepted Anjin's request to connect with her.
Both of them were stunned when they heard this.
Ayan was stunned because she didn't expect An Jin to be so beautiful, while An Jin was stunned because she didn't expect it to happen so quickly. She still had food in her mouth, and when she appeared on the other person's screen, her cheeks were bulging, like a little hamster hoarding food.
Neither of them spoke immediately.
Ayan carefully observed Anjin and found that Anjin didn't even use beauty filters much during her live stream, making her feel like she had lost completely.
She gently smiled and said, "Hello An'an, Old Crab told me about you. Are you here to help me beat up?"
Ayan tried her best to soften her words, as she didn't want to offend anyone anymore. Crab Boss knew many people on Tadpole Video, and she didn't want to offend any more.
An Jin swallowed the food in her mouth: "It's me. So what? I'm here to beat you up. How do you want me to beat you up?"
After An Jin finished speaking, the people in her live stream started fawning over her.
How awesome is An'an!
So, eating so early today was to help Old Crab beat someone up.
: Let's fight! How many people are in the other streamer's chat?
Less than 20,000.
Hurry up and top up your account, or An'an will go crazy again if we can't beat her.
Ayan: "Anything is fine. What is your punishment?"
An Jin laughed: "If you lose, you have to change the name of your live stream to: Old Crab, I was wrong. I didn't manage the moderators well. I'm guilty of a heinous crime. Keep it for a month."
Ayan's lips twitched. She knew today's punishment wouldn't be easy, but she didn't expect it to be this difficult.
An Jin: "How was it? Was the punishment alright?"
She smiled at the camera, clearly referring to Mr. Krabs.
Mr. Krabs typed with satisfaction: Okay.
Ayan took a deep breath and agreed to the punishment.
"What if you lose?"
Ayan looked at the buzzing chat in her live stream and then turned to Anjin with a gentle expression.
An Jin's smile shifted in meaning as she put down her chopsticks and wiped the remaining lipstick from her lips with a tissue.
"I can't lose."
She casually pinched the lipstick and applied it to her lips, speaking like an arrogant and vicious villain.
"Play whatever you want tonight. If I lose one game to you, you can punish me however you want."
Such a contemptuous tone and such a high-profile attitude made even Ayan, who was mentally prepared, feel suffocated, not to mention how upset her fans in Ayan's live broadcast room were.
The quality of this streamer is appalling. How did they even become a streamer like this?
Mr. Crab has terrible taste; he can actually fall for a female streamer like that.
The other person looks like they're about to throw up, let's hurry up and start the fight, otherwise the dinner from the night before will be ready to come out if we watch any longer.
Ayan was also quite annoyed by An Jin's words, but she had done her research before going live today and knew An Jin's record as a newcomer to the PK arena.
The last person who challenged An Jin was eliminated in the competition.
Back then, An Jin's live stream only had a few viewers. Now, An Jin's live stream only has fewer than 100,000 viewers online each day, which is considered a low number of viewers on any given day.
Ayan lacked the confidence to refute Anjin's words. She was put on the spot by the viewers in the live broadcast room and Anjin, so she could only find a way to save face for herself.
"Let's begin then. Let's score the total points. I'll start a ten-minute PK."
An Jin: "Let's open it."
The PK bar appeared on the screen immediately after she finished speaking.
An Jin didn't mute the microphone used for communication between the streamers. Listening to A Yan's excited words, she said with a smug look, "Big brothers and sisters in the live stream, it's time for you to make your move."
When we're PK'ing, I'm the big brother/sister, but when we're not PK'ing, I'm just a stupid commenter. You change your face fast, you stinky An.
Is this how you beg your benefactors? You have no sincerity at all.
You should at least smile a little before asking us to vote, instead of having this long face on your face.
The barrage of comments was filled with curses and votes, while Mr. Crab silently sent out over a dozen Carnival tickets. If Ayan hadn't contacted the boss beforehand, the PK would have ended as soon as it started, and An Jin would have easily defeated her.
The points on both sides instantly jumped from zero to 500,000, and then, encouraged by Ayan, they surged toward a million.
Pei Ning frantically tapped on the Carnival app, cursing as he did so: "Damn it, I can't even get the top spot, and I don't even have a chance to be fifth on the list?"
His friend was also watching An Jin's live stream, eating while watching, and occasionally ordering one or two carnivals. Compared to Pei Ning's craziness, he could be described as Buddhist.
"You say you can date anyone you want, but you've spent half a month's allowance on it and you can't even make it into the top five. Old Pei, you're not good enough."
Pei Ning said with a ferocious expression, "Shut up!"
He hadn't expected there to be so many rich guys in An Jin's live stream. Yesterday was one thing, with three people competing to spend money, and he barely managed to get second place on the leaderboard. But today, when it really came down to a PK, every single one of these rich guys not only had more money than Pei Ning, but they were also faster at processing it.
This infuriated Pei Ning.
“We can watch the streamer anywhere, Lao Pei. If it doesn’t work, we can switch every day. Why hang ourselves on An Jin? You agree, right?”
Pei Ning glanced at where his friend was and snorted coldly, "So you'd give me your seat?"
Pei Ning's friend chuckled dryly: "What are you saying? Is that the kind of person you think I am?"
Pei Ning remained silent with a cold expression.
Pei Ning would rather his friend wasn't that kind of person, but unfortunately, he has eyes and can easily spot his friend's name on the list with a casual glance, which makes Pei Ning have to be on guard.
