Chapter 162 Waiting for the Wedding Night

Chapter 162 Waiting for the Wedding Night

Ruan Yi sat on the velvet chair, watching herself being meticulously made up and tested in the dressing mirror.

The makeup artist squatted down beside the girl, using a makeup brush dipped in high-coverage cream to apply the kiss mark on her collarbone little by little, and then gently blended it out.

The marks on her body spread from her neck to her chest and shoulders, varying in depth, like petals crushed on her skin, leaving red marks on her snow-white skin.

Another makeup artist looked at the scars on the man's face with some difficulty and spoke in an extremely cautious tone.

“Mr. Shen, we may not be able to completely cover up the scratch on your cheek. If we apply too much makeup, it will be quite noticeable.”

The man leaned back on the leather sofa, his shirt collar slightly open, revealing several scabbed bloodstains on his neck, the handiwork of Ruan Yi's fingernails.

He didn't even notice the makeup artist talking; his gaze was glued to Ruan Yi the whole time, staring at the girl's profile as he swallowed hard.

The two looked like a couple about to get married who had a big fight, one covered in unmistakable marks of intimacy, the other with glaring scratches from their fight.

The man's battered state is entirely his own doing.

During the more than ten-hour flight, Ruan Yi struggled relentlessly after being woken up by his kiss, hitting, kicking, and biting him.

But this stone seemed completely impervious to pain, instead intensifying its attacks. While being attacked by Ruan Yi and groaning, it continued to leave ambiguous marks on her body.

Such a threat may seem to cause her no physical harm, but it inflicts immense psychological damage.

When she had beaten him until she had no strength left and felt utterly hopeless and her body was completely hollowed out, the man was still nibbling on this and that.

Ruan was starting to doubt her life until she was so exhausted from the kisses that she fell asleep again.

At that time, she even wondered if she was a human being or just a dog bone.

At this moment, Ruan Yi could still see in the mirror that the man not far away was still looking at the bone with a hungry dog's mouth watering.

Ruan Yi was completely out of options.

She even wanted to bang her head against the dressing table right now; she refused to believe that Chen Xun, despite her injury, could still resort to force. But then she glanced at the visibly high-quality tabletop…

She silently dismissed the idea; she wouldn't be foolish enough to do something that would hurt herself. If she were to do something, she should grab Chen Xun's head and slam it against him.

But she could only think about it in her mind; she couldn't budge this bull at all. She could only stare sullenly at her own face in the mirror, which was made up too exquisitely and even looked somewhat unreal.

Ruan Yi narcissistically believed that she had found the reason why men were staring at her. If it weren't for this unwilling wedding, she would have already picked up her phone and started taking pictures.

The door to the dressing room was gently pulled open, and a dozen or so staff members dressed in uniform black uniforms pushed in a large number of pure white mannequins in pairs.

The life-size mannequins were lined up one after another, each covered with a silk dust cover that left no blind spots.

When the lead staff member lifted the cover of the first three pieces, the entire room was instantly illuminated by the reflected pearlescent light.

The wedding dress on the left is adorned with a circle of gemstones the size of pigeon eggs at the bodice, and the skirt is made of layers of fluffy moonlight tulle; the one on the right is a mermaid style covered with countless tiny white diamonds and pearls, with layers of flowing tulle extending down from the hips.

The one in the very center in front of Ruan Yi was the most glamorous and extravagant, with a train that stretched for three meters and was covered with dazzling diamonds that reflected fire and light, making her eyes hurt from the brilliance.

"Madam, these three are custom-made pieces that Mr. Shen specifically requested to be shown to you first." The leading female designer respectfully began introducing the wedding dresses.

"The piece in the middle was handcrafted by top Italian artisans, and the production process took a year and a half. Mr. Shen oversaw the entire process, providing feedback and following up from the initial design drawings..."

The female designer was still talking at length about the craftsmanship, fabric, and love that the wedding dress symbolized.

Ruan Yi was so shocked she couldn't close her mouth, not only by the wedding dress, but also by the "one and a half years" the designer had mentioned.

That was when he misunderstood Shen Xun the most; the man had actually gone to such great lengths to have a wedding dress custom-made.

Ruan Yi's gaze swept over the dazzling skirt, her mind unable to calm down for a long time. The value of the three custom-made wedding dresses was no joke, especially the one in front of her. Even if you were rich, you wouldn't spend money like this.

Shen Xun was practically throwing his entire fortune into the wedding. Aunt Jiang wasn't one for extravagance, so how could she possibly agree to this?

Just as Ruan Yi was about to open her mouth to curse, before she could even utter a word, she saw the man in front of her casually trace the hem of the wedding dress with his fingertips.

A hint of smugness lurked in Shen Xun's eyes as he spoke with an arrogant tone, "What do you think your husband was doing while you weren't watching?"

"You've always liked these sparkly things since you were little. If I don't earn more money and put in more effort, will you be satisfied?"

No one knows how difficult those years of arguing with Ruan Yi were.

Aside from exercise, all I could do was throw myself into work, running projects and negotiating collaborations non-stop, in order to distract myself from the pain and my unspeakable obsession with her.

There was another reason why the situation escalated further: when his father realized that their engagement was in such a bad state, he proposed to cancel the engagement and arrange for him to marry another wealthy heiress.

The man's breakdown not only nearly led to the demolition of the house, but also prompted him to secretly vow never to use a single penny of his father's money, lest his father dare to say such things again.

His wife needed him to save enough money so that no matter when Ruan Yi looked back, she could see that her husband had the ability to present her with everything she liked.

Chen Xun's gaze swept over Ruan Yi's tense profile. Seeing her staring at him with her pink lips slightly parted and not saying a word, a surge of heat welled up in a certain place, and he immediately raised his hand and waved.

The staff inside quickly packed up their tools and left, and the female designer also discreetly closed the door quietly.

"Which one do you like?" Shen Xun walked behind her, wrapped his arms around her slender waist, and forcefully pulled her into his arms, pressing against her without leaving a gap.

Ruan Yi didn't turn around or say anything, and even ignored the hard, rubbing motion, somewhat unable to accept reality.

Shen Xun didn't press her, speaking in a nonchalant tone.

"If you like them both, just wear them interchangeably. Wear one for the pre-wedding banquet, one for the main wedding dress, and one for the homecoming banquet."

The man stared at Ruan Yi's lips, waiting for her to give her opinion. Seemingly afraid that she would have an excuse to refute him, he quickly added, "If you don't like any of them, there are more to come. If you're still not satisfied, I'll find another batch."

Ruan Yi finally felt uncomfortable being pressed against from behind, so she took a deep breath, turned around, and pushed the man away forcefully when he was off guard.

"I'm not wearing anything! I don't want to wear anything!"

Shen Xun stared at her puffed-up face, his eyes churning with emotions, his suppressed anger tinged with loneliness.

"Don't want to wear anything? You'll have to wait until your wedding night."

"You have to wear one during the day, there's no other choice."

Ruan Yi was completely stunned. It took her a while to realize his misunderstanding, and she was so angry that she almost jumped up.

She meant she didn't want to get married by not wearing clothes, but this person interpreted it as her wanting to run naked.
