The expert's tone was filled with remembrance.
For him, "Champion Marquis" is a special and meaningful term.
“However, you don’t need to know all that. You should know where the shipyard is.” The expert changed the subject, saying to Chen Jing, “Your sister will be sent away tomorrow.”
Chen Jing pursed his lips.
The Ship District, in Ash City, refers to the large ships on that river.
The central area of Ash City is the Ship District, where a river runs through the city.
By following the river downstream, you can leave the misty land, leave the ancient Song Dynasty, and arrive at a place where the sun shines.
The large ships are the private property of the Black Hand; all the ships in the ship district belong to him, and merchants from outside must also travel here and leave on these large ships. The Black Hand controls the waterway; he is fully aware of the potential dangers along the river and knows how to avoid them. It is this knowledge that gives him his superior position.
"Wan Tong is on the big ship..." Chen Jing began, "Teacher."
"Hmm?" The expert looked up.
“I’m going,” Chen Jing said.
"Hmm." The expert nodded.
Chen Jing turned and left.
He knew that some things he had to do himself. His teacher helped him inquire, helped him find out, provided him with the Black Elixir, and taught him so many secrets…
We already have a deep debt of gratitude!
As for asking the teacher to go to the boat area together... that was really too much, and Chen Jing couldn't bring himself to say it.
As the expert watched his student's retreating figure, he was momentarily reminded of the past.
He watched Chen Jing disappear into the mist and sighed.
In this world, he allows himself to have feelings of compassion, and allows himself to do things out of compassion.
However, restraint is necessary.
"May the spirits of the fallen Song dynasty protect you," the expert whispered.
The figure could no longer be seen in the fog.
The expert then closed the door and sat back down on the floor.
"Ha, Marquis of Champion, Marquis of Champion, what am I, Marquis of Champion..."
His left hand clenched painfully, his nails digging deep into his palm.
...
Chen Jing led the way into the heart of the city with practiced ease.
He carried the equipment he had used to lure the monsters, without even trying to conceal it. He encountered city guards along the way, but they only questioned him briefly before asking if he had seen people with certain appearances.
Chen Jing thought about the description of their appearance and realized that they were the people who assassinated the Black Hand.
He shook his head, indicating he hadn't seen it before, and was then released.
Chen Jing arrived at the ship area without any problems.
Apart from the port where you board the ship, there are no guards on either side of the long river, because there are monsters in the river and swimming across is not practical.
Chen Jing had heard of a madwoman who bathed in the river. She was said to be a woman with extraordinary abilities, able to turn her hands into claws and possessing immense strength, even fighting man-eating monsters in the river. People called her "the woman who loves to bathe," but Chen Jing had never seen her; she worked for another hunting group.
As for the port area, the Black Hand has a large number of guards there, all of whom are armed and will kill anyone who tries to break in without a permit.
Even those with extraordinary abilities will be injured if shot, and will bleed if cut by a sword. As for whether cultivators can force their way in and cut through the enemy ranks, Chen Jing had no idea.
The spiritual practitioners are too far removed from them, like people far away in the clouds.
Chen Jing watched the guards standing at the door and on the arrow tower walk out of the alley. He took a deep breath and then plunged into the dark sea.
He didn't actually jump into the river in Ash City; that would be too dangerous. Besides, Chen Jing wasn't a good swimmer; he hadn't even had any formal swimming training. He simply activated his special ability.
A deep sense of sorrow overwhelmed Chen Jing. He felt as if he had suddenly become a poet lamenting the passing of spring and the coming of autumn. Just walking in the lonely fog made him feel an indescribable pain and grief.
Unseen but palpable, black mud covered Chen Jing's body as he strode toward the soldiers.
Their eyes were fixed straight ahead, allowing Chen Jing to walk past them.
"Hey, didn't someone just appear in the street ahead?" a soldier muttered under his breath, suddenly sensing something.
Nobody paid him any attention because none of them saw him.
The soldier looked again, then thought it was probably just his imagination, and continued to stand guard.
Chen Jing had been here before. Back then, the leader of the hunting party brought him here to sell his catch and buy supplies on the big ship, so that he could broaden his horizons.
Just inside the entrance is a small trading area, the merchants' quarters, which also function as a market within the city. This market is entirely under the protection of the Black Hand, who profits handsomely from every transaction.
This place sells valuable items from the outside world, such as luxury goods, weapons, medicines, and books. It's even said that they sell elixirs that can help one become a cultivator, but these are usually snapped up by the Black Hand's own people as soon as they appear.
Now that Chen Jing thinks about it, those pills should be similar to the black pills his teacher gave him, the kind that could make someone with extraordinary abilities.
"Even so, that Black Hand gang is terrifying..." Chen Jing thought to himself, "At least, there are at least ten people with extraordinary abilities, and the Black Hand himself may even be a cultivator."
"What level of cultivator is Black Hand? Blood Realm, Core Realm, or Qi Realm?"
"What's the difference between cultivators in the Blood Realm and those with extraordinary abilities?"
"In the past, I didn't know which of the news reports were true and which were false rumors..."
Chen Jing turned into a small alley in the market, where he deactivated his concealment ability. He had a limited amount of time he could use the concealment state each day, so he needed to conserve it.
