Chapter Eight: Knowledge and Power

He then heard that his breathing and heartbeat were perfectly normal, and he shouldn't be experiencing this feeling of suffocation.

If there's nothing wrong with his breathing and heartbeat, yet he feels suffocated, then what's the problem? Chen Jing couldn't help but ponder.

Ah, something's wrong with my brain.

Chen Jing coldly drew this conclusion, and then he felt a surge of heat in his head, a burning sensation.

Chen Jing instinctively recalled a fragment of the Tao Te Ching he had read in another memory. This intuition was without any basis, just as he inexplicably thought there was something wrong with his brain the first time he saw it.

"What are you?" Chen Jing asked silently, suffocating.

Who can answer him? This is his innermost thought! It's the question he silently ponders.

Then he heard a voice, a voice from within himself.

"Knowledge and power."
