Chapter 15, what document? Could it be that she misunderstood him...?

Yu Kui entered the classroom, and before she could even sit down, Tao Jiang walked in from outside and placed a bottle of matcha-flavored milk tea on Yu Kui's desk.

"Good morning." She smiled at Yu Kui, as if she hadn't taken yesterday's words to heart.

Yu Kui frowned and placed the milk tea on her table. "Thank you, but I don't like milk tea anymore."

"Is that so..." Tao Jiang didn't expect her to refuse, and her expression became a little reluctant. "It's okay, I can buy whatever you like to drink."

“No need,” Yu Kui lowered her eyelashes, “I’ll buy what I like myself.”

Tao Jiang's eyes darkened. "We don't actually have to do this. I still want to..."

“Thank you,” Yu Kui interrupted her, “but really, it’s not necessary.”

She looked down and took out the book she needed for the day, ignoring Tao Jiang.

Tao Jiang's expression changed, but she eventually returned to her usual calm and aloof demeanor. Only the turmoil in her eyes revealed the unease in her heart.

When the weekly test papers were handed out, Yu Kui's grades were still among the best. The teacher specifically praised her in class for getting the last big question right and encouraged the other students to learn from her.

Seeing the girl's radiant appearance, Tao Jiang subconsciously crumpled her own test paper, which was hovering around the passing grade.

Her grades had always been poor, and even with Qin You tutoring her every day, she didn't make much progress. As the gap between her and Yu Kui widened, Tao Jiang felt like a poisonous insect was crawling on her heart, making her feel uncomfortable all over.

"Tao Jiang, what's wrong?" Her deskmate asked with concern, noticing her somber expression. "Are you worried about your grades? It's okay, you can ask me if you have any questions."

"Ask you?" Tao Jiang looked at his grades; he wasn't even in the top ten of the class, yet he wanted to explain problems to her. Did he even deserve it?

“Yeah,” her deskmate said with a smile, oblivious to her sarcasm. “I know how to do most of the questions. If I don’t, I can ask someone who is better at studying. Yu Kui and the class monitor are both very good students.”

“No need,” Tao Jiang said, her voice filled with resistance upon hearing Yu Kui’s name. “Someone else is tutoring me.”

"Oh, I see," my deskmate said, hanging his head in disappointment, but still saying, "That's really great."

Yu Kui looked at the test paper and wrote down the questions she had answered incorrectly in her notebook, thus reinforcing her knowledge.

At lunchtime, she went to the cafeteria with Sun Shuya, bought their favorite dishes, and sat down by the window.

"New Year's Day is just around the corner, and the class is going to hold a New Year's Day party. Do you want to sign up?" Sun Shuya is the art and literature committee member and needs to plan the New Year's Day activities in advance.

Yu Kui, having no particular talent, shook her head.

"Remember 'The Peacock Flies Southeast'? I'm planning to adapt it into a skit. Would you like to play the female lead?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Kui immediately shook her head, "No." She had never played any roles before and couldn't handle it at all.

Sun Shuya didn't give up, "Can you sing? Or dance or play an instrument?"

Yu Kui kept shaking her head, "Please spare me."

Seeing this, Sun Shuya couldn't help but laugh. "I was hoping you could help me with this. The party can't be too boring."

Yu Kui thought for a moment, then reluctantly said, "Then shall I sing a song?"

“Let’s dance,” Sun Shuya said, looking at her face. “I’ve already thought about what kind of makeup I should do for you if you wear Hanfu and dance a classical dance.”

Yu Kui: "..."

"I can't dance." Although she really wanted to help Sun Shuya, Yu Kui had never had any artistic talent since she was a child.

“Give it a try,” Sun Shuya said. “Just because you didn’t know how before doesn’t mean you don’t know how now. There are lots of instructional videos online now, and I’ll practice with you.”

Yu Kui pursed her lips, "I..."

“Say yes, say yes,” Sun Shuya shook her arm. “Your face is perfect for dancing.”

“We can give it a try,” Yu Kui said helplessly, “but if it doesn’t work, we’ll give up.”

"Alright, alright," Sun Shuya chuckled. "I will definitely teach you properly."

The New Year's Eve party featured twelve performances, including a skit by Sun Shuya, as well as singing, dancing, and riddle games.

When the class was choosing the female lead for "The Peacock Flies Southeast," everyone unanimously recommended Tao Jiang. She was not only the class beauty but also the school beauty, and no one was more suitable than her.

"Can you do it?" Sun Shuya looked at Tao Jiang and asked with a smile.

“Sure,” Tao Jiang said with a smile. “For the sake of collective honor, I’m willing to rehearse properly.”

Upon hearing this, the students applauded, feeling that she had a strong sense of teamwork.

Upon hearing this, Yu Kui couldn't help but recall the last sports meet. She had also said it was for the collective honor, and many classmates looked at her with new respect. However, Tao Jiang did not participate in the event, and Yu Kui ran in her place instead.

But it seems that everyone only remembers Tao Jiang.

Thinking about this, Yu Kui felt a little lost.

"Okay, I'll register your name." After that, Sun Shuya selected several other roles and sent them the adapted skit.

The adapted content is naturally different from the original. Although it has a tragic tone, it is more humorous and cheerful, meant to make everyone happy.

After school, Yu Kui practiced dancing with Sun Shuya in the classroom. Classical dance emphasizes delicate and smooth movements, blending emotion and scenery, so as to achieve a unity of form and spirit, and the use of body and mind to achieve inner and outer harmony.

Yu Kui had no dance background, but fortunately she was quite flexible. After watching many dance tutorials, Sun Shuya chose a relatively simple dance.

“This dance is called ‘The Goddess of Flowers’,” Sun Shuya explained, pointing to the dancers gracefully moving in the video. “It’s about butterflies, and I think it’s pretty good.”

Yu Kui watched the dancers moving their arms to the music. The dance moves were simple, but the spirit of the dance was captivating.

“She’s beautiful,” Yu Kui said subconsciously. “She makes me feel like she’s a happy butterfly.”

A smile flashed in Sun Shuya's eyes, and she immediately grabbed her hand and jumped up and down, following the movements in the video. "You can do it too."

Yu Kui blinked and a smile appeared on her face.

Qin You and Tao Jiang walked to the school gate, and Tao Jiang realized that she had forgotten to bring her homework.

“It should be on the table,” she said, somewhat annoyed. “It’s all your fault for rushing me.”

"Wait here for me a moment," Qin You said, "I'll go upstairs and get it."

“Let’s go together,” Tao Jiang followed behind him, “we’re not in a hurry to go home anyway.”

Before they even reached the classroom door, the two heard music.

"Who is it? Why are you still here so late?" Tao Jiang pushed open the classroom door and saw Yu Kui and Sun Shuya dancing in unison by the window. The bright white light shone on them, making them look youthful and energetic.

Tao Jiang's pupils contracted slightly, and she raised her hand to stop Qin You. "There are people inside. I'll go in and get it myself."

Qin You couldn't see who was inside, so he nodded and stood in the corridor to wait.

Just then, a few cocky boys came down from upstairs. Hearing the music coming from the classroom, they couldn't help but whistle a few times. "Who's that, daring to listen to music in the classroom?"

"Let's go take a look," the boy in the lead said with a half-smile, carrying his schoolbag in one hand. "This is a humanities class; maybe it's some pretty girl."

“Yeah,” the others chimed in with grins, “Let’s go take a look!”

The group strode to the classroom door, and just as they were about to go in, the boy in the lead inadvertently made eye contact with Qin You. The two were about the same height, but Qin You was a model student, while he was a representative of bad students.

Qin You immediately frowned, about to stop them.

Tao Jiang walked out of the classroom, her face looking rather grim. "Let's go."

She was wearing a down jacket, with fair skin and delicate features, even more beautiful than the actresses on TV.

"There are such beautiful girls in school?" the boys exclaimed. "She's so gorgeous!"

Qin Youyi gripped Tao Jiang's hand tightly. "Let's go."

Tao Jiang glanced at the group of boys, met the gaze of one of them, and discovered that his appearance was comparable to Qin You's, though they were completely different styles.

Qin You was a good student, excelling in both character and academics.

The boy in front of her seemed like a devil who could lead people astray, with an air of nonchalant arrogance and long, deep eyes that stirred the heart like a whirlpool.

"Excuse me, what's your name?" The boy behind him blocked the way and said with a smile, "My name is Sun Chaoyang, I'm from Class 13. Do you have time to have lunch together tomorrow?"

"I don't have time." Tao Jiang looked away and let Qin You lead her away.

"So cold-hearted," Sun Chaoyang took two steps forward, "Even if you have a boyfriend, you could still consider me. I'm very considerate..."

"Shut up!" Xie Xingzhi glanced at him. "Can't you be a little more dignified?"

"Wasn't she too beautiful?" Sun Chaoyang turned back reluctantly. "It's a pity she already has a boyfriend, otherwise..."

"Alright then." Xie Xingzhi walked to the classroom door, looked down and saw two little girls dancing like butterflies to the accompaniment of pleasant music.

Xie Xingzhi raised an eyebrow, noticed that one of them looked somewhat familiar, and stepped inside. "Rehearsal?"

Upon hearing the sound, Yu Kui and Sun Shuya both stopped and looked at the uninvited guests in front of them.

Tao Jiang had already disrupted their routine when she came in to get something, and now an unfamiliar boy has arrived.

"What are you doing here?" Sun Shuya squinted. "There's no one like you in our class."

"Just wandering around," Xie Xingzhi leaned against the podium, his gaze falling on Yu Kui. "It's good to see you again, good student. I didn't expect you to be in this class."

“It’s you…” Yu Kui recognized him too, and immediately remembered the document that had been deleted from her mind. A hint of disgust flashed in her eyes. “Is there something you need?”

"It's nothing," Xie Xingzhi said, not missing the look in her eyes, a smile playing on his lips. "You hate me that much?"

Yu Kui said coldly, "You know perfectly well what you've done."

"What did I do?" Xie Xingzhi asked innocently. "I just struck up a conversation with you once, how come you remember it so clearly?"

Seeing that he wouldn't admit it, Yu Kui disliked him even more and said directly, "Didn't you delete my document?"

"Document?" Xie Xingzhi's smile vanished. "What document?"

Yu Kui blinked, wondering if she had misunderstood him, and said, "Didn't you see what I wrote on the computer that day?"
