Chapter 22: Divorce Proposal? (shuhaige.net)

Chapter Twenty-Two

"You really filed for divorce from Fang Shiyan?"

Sheng Xia was holding a watermelon she had just finished eating when, in her surprise, the rind fell onto the table with a thud.

Wen Yixing chuckled, "Would I lie to you?"

"Then what are you laughing at?" Sheng Xia touched Wen Yixing's forehead with an incredulous look. "You don't have a fever."

Wen Yixing removed Sheng Xia's hand, smiling helplessly, and said, "If you don't smile, do you expect me to cry?"

Sheng Xia carefully observed Wen Yixing and only gradually felt relieved after confirming that she was in a normal state.

"That's good, that's good. But have you collected all the evidence? Do you think you can win the case? Does your mother-in-law know you want a divorce?"

Sheng Xia had many questions and some worries in her heart.

She knew how important Wen Yixing valued her child.

That was a child that Wen Yixing carried for ten months before giving birth. At the time, because the child was premature, Wen Yixing almost had a difficult labor.

Shengxia also went to the birthing day.

Sheng Xia still remembers that during that time, Wen Yixing had a falling out with her family, and her father back home had no idea that she was pregnant.

The day Wen Yixing gave birth happened to be the birthday of her great-aunt Fang.

That day, the Fang family all went to their great-aunt's birthday banquet. Not only did Fang Shiyan not come, but no one from the Fang family came to the hospital to see Wen Yixing.

When Sheng Xia heard the news and rushed over, she discovered that the only person left to take care of Wen Yixing was a nanny.

Sheng Xia was furious at the time. After Wen Yixing was wheeled into the delivery room, she stood anxiously and angrily at the door.

Around 2 or 3 a.m. that night, the hospital corridor was unusually quiet. No one was with her. Shengxia sat alone at the entrance of the delivery room, feeling sleepy, worried, and a little scared.

She's actually quite timid; she's afraid to walk alone at night, let alone in a hospital corridor late at night.

Despite her fear, she didn't want to leave, after all, her best friend had just been through a life-threatening situation in the delivery room.

She remembers that night very clearly. Not long after Wen Yixing entered the delivery room, a man wearing a black hat and mask walked to a chair about ten meters away from her and sat down.

Sheng Xia was initially wary, but the man didn't make any moves; he just sat there.

Later, she was so tired that she couldn't stay awake any longer and took a nap. When she opened her eyes, she realized that the baby had already been born.

Several nurses walked and discussed how the delivery had almost been difficult, but fortunately, both mother and child were safe.

Upon hearing the words "difficult labor," Sheng Xia broke out in a cold sweat and immediately stood up to ask the nurse which ward Wen Yixing was in.

Wen Yixing had woken up in the ward, but she was extremely weak. However, she still smiled happily at her when she saw her.

At that moment, Sheng Xia felt terrified, heartbroken, and thought Fang Shiyan deserved to die.

Because of this incident, Sheng Xia grew to hate Fang Shiyan and his family more and more.

Unfortunately, no matter what she said, her good friend seemed to be under a spell and remained extremely infatuated with Fang Shiyan.

Wen Yixing lowered her head and stirred her drink: "I've spoken with Attorney Yang, and he said that our chances of winning are currently quite small."

Sheng Xia asked curiously, "So you brought up divorce with Fang Shiyan, what did Fang Shiyan say?"

Wen Yixing: "He said that Yao Yao is still young and needs his mother to take care of him."

The events that happened not long ago are still vivid in my mind.

Fang Shiyan probably never expected that one day she would ask him for a divorce. His usually calm eyes showed only a moment of doubt before he simply said, "The child is still young and needs his mother's care."

Fang Shiyan's words brought Wen Yixing back to her senses, making her more aware of her anger.

Her Yao Yao is a child of the Fang family, and even Fang Shiyan subconsciously feels that even if they divorce, she cannot take the child with her.

Sheng Xia's eyes widened: "Does Fang Shiyan mean that he can't possibly leave the child with you?"

That bastard deserves to die.

Sheng Xia took a deep breath in anger: "By the way, did you also sign a prenuptial agreement?"

"Yes," Wen Yixing said, "It's signed."

Before they got married, Li Qingyun had them sign a prenuptial agreement.

Even if they divorce, she won't get much of Fang Shiyan's property.

"I knew it! Someone like your mother-in-law, so shrewd, would never let her family suffer a loss." Sheng Xia looked disgusted, then took a big bite of watermelon. "So what are you planning to do now?"

In fact, she doesn't care about the money; Wen Yixing doesn't need the Fang family's money, but she must get custody of the child.

This is a difficult task, but she cannot give up.

Wen Yixing was silent for a moment, then said in a gentle but firm tone, "I will not leave Yao Yao in the Fang family."

In recent years, Sheng Xia has rarely seen Wen Yixing so confident. She feels that Wen Yixing now is becoming more and more like the Wen Yixing of the past.

In Sheng Xia's heart, Wen Yixing should be so confident and outstanding, after all, Wen Yixing used to be someone who could get full marks in high school math!

Sheng Xia was completely energized, and she patted Wen Yixing on the shoulder.

"I trust you!"

Sheng Xia clenched her fist: "We will definitely be able to get Yao Yao back!"

---

After this incident, Wen Yixing continued to go to get off work as usual. She was an outstanding worker, and her superiors could see that her abilities were far superior to those of others. They appreciated outstanding people.

During lunch, Wen Yixing's colleagues chatted with her, telling her that she would definitely get a raise next month.

Wen Yixing wasn't really looking forward to a raise, and sure enough, not long after, her department head called her into his office.
