The man in the bed slept for a full three hours.
Those three hours felt like an eternity to Ling Ruoke. Several times she couldn't resist the urge to go to the room and wake the person up, but she held back.
When the wolf appeared at the doorway almost naked, she jumped up.
The man had absolutely no self-awareness; he just wandered around the house like that, using a rag to cover his ugliness. He went to the refrigerator, grabbed a drink for himself, and even turned back to ask her, "Want some juice?"
Ling Ruoke shook her head.
The man, holding a drink, swaggered over to the sofa and sat down. His long legs stretched out, slightly apart, the posture looked truly indecent! Usually, people who do this are either thugs or perverts!
They'd already made it so obvious; even if Ling Ruoke was oblivious, she realized something was wrong. She quickly averted her gaze, no longer daring to look in that direction. "Could you...could you put your clothes on?"
"Is there any part of my body you haven't seen?" Wild Wolf chuckled as he watched her blush. He was telling the truth; apart from the parts he was currently covering, she had seen every other part of him.
Ling Ruoke bit her lip, thoroughly uncomfortable with such a lewd conversation. She lowered her head, looking at the floor. "What did you mean by what you said earlier?"
“I told you, it’s pointless.” Wild Wolf took a sip of his drink and glanced at her sideways. “What? You didn’t hear a word I said? I talked about the next step of the plan, but I didn’t mention anything related to you.”
Ling Ruoke was speechless for a moment, as if all her strength had been drained away. She slowly slumped into the sofa, trying to catch her breath. She admitted that a spark of hope had just been rekindled in her heart.
"You came here with business to attend to, didn't you?" Yes, she was too naive. Wild Wolf probably came to X country with business to attend to. Her business was just a side effect; she took herself far too seriously.
"Yeah, do you really think your little problem is worth all this trouble?" He admitted it bluntly, without the slightest attempt to hide it.
Ling Ruoke wasn't angry; she just pursed her lips, tears welling in her eyes, and shook her head at the ground. Sure enough, she was still too naive! In her heart, Qingfeng was more important than anything, but in Wild Wolf's eyes, he was nothing more than a commodity in a transaction. Besides, she didn't have any good bargaining chips to begin with; it was already a miracle that he even agreed.
"I...I need to use the restroom first." Ling Ruoke stood up and walked quickly towards the door.
"stop!"
She had no choice but to stop.
"Is all you can do is run away? What will it change if you hide in the bathroom and cry your heart out? Can you bring a dead person back to life by crying?" Wild Wolf stood up, speaking coldly as he walked towards her.
Ling Ruoke finally couldn't hold back anymore and burst out, turning around abruptly to glare at him. "Then what am I supposed to do? Does laughing and pretending to be calm work? I'm sad, I want to cry, why can't I cry, instead of laughing like an idiot?"
Upon hearing her last sentence, the wolf finally couldn't help but chuckle. How could this silly woman be so adorable!
He stretched out his strong arm and pulled her petite body into his embrace. "You're right, cry if you want to."
Ling Ruoke pushed him away and shouted, "I'd rather die than cry in front of you! Get away!" She turned and ran into the room, slamming the door shut.
Having nearly had his straight nose knocked off, Wild Wolf rubbed it, shrugged, and shrugged, then sat back down on the sofa. But his gaze kept glancing towards the door every now and then.
Inside the room, Ruoke sat on the floor against the door, her head buried between her knees, sobbing softly. She was heartbroken and felt wronged…
However, she didn't cry for long. Perhaps it was because she hadn't just heard the news of Qingfeng's death, and had already had time to process it. But her heart still ached terribly.
She stopped crying, hugged her knees, and sat there blankly for a long time. Until there was a knock on the door.
"Have you cried enough? Come out and eat if you've cried enough." It was that same cold, impatient voice.
Ling Ruoke pouted, wiping away her tears, and opened the door. Otherwise, if he knocked a hole in the door, she might have to pay for it later.
"Have you cried enough?" Wild Wolf looked at her with amusement at her pitiful appearance. Her bright red lips were pouting, her eyes were red, and her nose was red; she looked exactly like a wronged little wife.
Ling Ruoke glared at him and shouted angrily, "Mind your own business!" She stomped her foot and ran into the bathroom to wash her face.
The wolf was successfully amused and burst into laughter.
Ling Ruoke used the towel in the bathroom as if it were that hateful man, scrubbing it with all her might, as if she had a grudge against the towel.
"You wouldn't mistake that towel for me, would you?" Youyou's voice rang out from the bathroom doorway.
Ling Ruoke thought this person was really annoying, especially since they enjoyed making others unhappy. "Yes, I wish I could kill you!" she gritted her teeth and shouted.
The wolf chuckled, amused by her flustered, cat-like appearance. "Do you need me to give you a knife?"
Ling Ruoke simulated a series of wild stabbing motions with her hands empty, while also making sounds to accompany the action.
The wolf laughed so hard it choked.
For the first time in years, he had met someone who wasn't afraid of him, and it was a woman. She seemed completely indifferent to status and position; whether you were a gangster tycoon or a high-ranking official, she treated you simply as a person. Perhaps, that was what Zhuang Yicheng liked about her.
Ling Ruoke glared at him and quickly washed her face. The person blocking the doorway didn't seem to have any intention of moving aside. "Get out of the way, a good dog doesn't block the road!"
The man crossed his arms and brazenly continued blocking the way. Thankfully, he was wearing long pants. "I'm a person, so blocking the way isn't a problem."
"You're so boring!" Ling Ruo tried to push him, but couldn't budge him at all. "Go away, go away, I'm hungry, I want to eat!"
She barely ate anything all day. She doesn't have much of an appetite now, but she's really hungry.
The wolf finally moved aside, but then put his arm around her waist. "Oh, so you still need to eat. I thought crying would fill your stomach."
Ling Ruoke's good manners finally crumbled. With her eyes closed, she shouted, "You bastard!"
The wolf laughed so hard he bent over backwards, in a great mood.
He let go of her hand and watched her storm out. He followed leisurely, a smile playing on his lips.
Ling Ruoke went outside; dinner had already been served. It was a Western meal: steak with red wine. She sat down, picked up her knife and fork, and began cutting the steak as if it were some annoying person.
As expected, the wolf laughed heartily during dinner.
If his men saw him, they would definitely try to get him into the hospital for a DNA comparison to confirm whether he had been switched.
After dinner, Ling Ruoke angrily planned to hide in her room, not wanting to deal with the man anymore.
The wolf watched as the door slammed shut, his smile slowly fading. He picked up the black shirt from the sofa and slowly put it on.
Tonight, there will be a tough battle.
After changing his clothes, Wild Wolf leisurely went over and knocked on the door. "Come out, I'll take you somewhere tonight."
"I'm not going." The voice was huffy, clearly still angry.
Wild Wolf was both amused and exasperated; this woman was really childish. "If you want to see that person, tonight is your only chance. You can give it up."
Before he could finish speaking, the door opened. The person who rushed out crashed straight into him.
"What do you mean by that?" Ling Ruoke's emotions were so volatile from being deceived by this person that she no longer knew which of his words she could believe.
The wolf chuckled and shrugged. "My words are meaningless. So, are you going or not?"
Ling Ruoke bit her lip, staring intently at him, trying to glean any clue from his face. Unfortunately, she only saw a forced smile. Gritting her teeth, she asked angrily, "Any requirements regarding clothing?"
"Dress something sexy. Ten minutes, or I'm out." With that, he went back to the sofa, sat down, and picked up the remote to watch TV.
Ling Ruoke made a face at him, then quickly closed the door and went to change her clothes. She picked out a black spaghetti strap dress, styled her shoulder-length hair into temporary curls, applied some moisturizer, and was done.
The wolf frowned slightly when he saw her attire, but said nothing.
They first went to xxx Entertainment City, where they met the same group of people from last time, and chatted for a long time.
Ling Ruoke sat leaning against the wolf, wanting to roll her eyes. She knew she couldn't have any expectations of this guy. After they finished drinking, was he going to start that creepy moaning scene again?
Just thinking about it gave her the urge to run out the door.
Suddenly, an arm wrapped around her waist. She turned her head and saw the wolf smiling and saying, "Don't worry, baby."
Those people seemed not to understand him, so they asked Wild Wolf to repeat himself in X language. Then they laughed and looked at her with incredibly suggestive eyes.
Ling Ruoke really wanted to dig a hole and crawl into it. She felt that Wild Wolf must have said some very filthy things! This person was a scoundrel! He just wanted to take the opportunity to act like a scoundrel, and it wasn't about tempting his opponent at all.
So, just like last time, she was taken to that room and began to struggle. If the wolf hadn't been holding her hands firmly and dragging her away, she would have turned around and run away.
They had barely entered the room when suddenly an alarm went off—it was the fire alarm!
Then everyone filed out of the room, creating chaos.
Ling Ruoke was being pulled along, running forward relentlessly. The light was dim, and she had no idea where they were going. She didn't have time to think about it; she just followed him, mechanically moving her legs. Her legs were already so heavy from running that she could barely lift them.
Finally, they ran away from somewhere.
Before Ling Ruoke could even see what was happening, she was pushed into the car. She was panting heavily, her throat and nose burning as if she were on fire.
Suddenly, she was shocked to discover that the person sitting next to her was not Wild Wolf at all! Moreover, he was from country X! She was so frightened that she opened her mouth to scream, but someone quickly covered her mouth.
"Shut up." The man said in English.
"Who...who are you? Are you one of Wild Wolves' men?" Hearing the familiar language, Ling Ruoke calmed down a bit. But she still pressed her whole body against the car door, not daring to get too close to him.
The man gave her a cold look but did not answer.
Ling Ruo didn't know if he was tacitly agreeing or simply ignoring her. She was filled with anxiety, but the car was speeding along, and even if she shouted, no one outside could hear her. Especially since she had heard several gunshots, which terrified her!
She had been so well protected by the wolves these days that she had almost forgotten that this was a country in the midst of war.
The car finally came to a screeching stop.
Ling Ruoke had no chance to escape before being pulled through a door. The man immediately pulled her into his arms, pressing her tightly against his chest, so she couldn't even lift her face. The foreigner's strong body odor made her stomach churn.
Finally, the elevator stopped.
Ling Ruoke was dragged into a room. The door slammed shut, and she was finally released.
The room was dimly lit, and she could only vaguely make out a person's silhouette, not their face. So when she saw a figure sitting on the sofa, she was startled, thinking it was a scene from a horror movie.
The person on the sofa suddenly stood up, grabbed her hand, and dragged her into a doorway in the room, giving her no time to react. The sound of the door closing startled her and jolted her awake. "You—"
Before she could even ask a question, the other person forcefully pulled her hand into their arms and then held her tightly.
"You—" Her words were cut off by burning lips.
"Mmm..." Ling Ruoke struggled in a panic.
The man pinned her hands down, pressed her face against his chest, and murmured, "Wife..."
Ling Ruoke shuddered, unable to move. Only then did she realize that this person's aura was familiar! It was Qingfeng!
"Qing—" she was about to call out when her lips were captured in a kiss. She was startled for a moment, but did not struggle. She knew this was the man she knew!
The man gripped her arms with unusual force, as if he wanted to meld her into his very bones and never let anyone separate them again.
The lingering, passionate kiss almost took Ling Ruoke's breath away. However, her heart was overflowing with this earth-shattering good news, and she could no longer care about anything else.
Ling Ruoke was unaware that she couldn't speak carelessly. Therefore, all her joy was suppressed within her, and she dared not utter a single word about it.
However, as long as he is still alive and well, what does it matter if he never finds out?
Huo Qingfeng lay down, letting her rest her head on his chest. His chin rested on the top of her head, and he felt as if his heart, which had been empty for half a year, was finally filled again.
Ling Ruoke remained motionless, listening to his strong heartbeat, still feeling like she was dreaming. If this really was a dream, then it wouldn't matter if she never woke up!
She closed her eyes, a slow smile spreading across her face. Pressed against his burning body, it felt as if she were back in those happy days. He was alive; her Qingfeng was alive!
This overwhelming joy seemed to be overflowing from her heart, desperately needing an outlet.
Huo Qingfeng whispered in her ear, his voice hoarse, "Wife, are you sure?"
Ling Ruoke didn't answer. She had once fantasized about transforming from a girl into a woman in a romantically decorated room, amidst a romantic atmosphere. But now, she didn't want to think about those abstract things; she only wanted to belong to this person.
"Wife..." When a man is in this situation, he calls out "wife" instead of "I love you".
At this moment, Ling Ruoke closed her eyes, and tears of happiness slid down her cheeks. After going through so much torment, she finally gave herself to the man she loved.
Huo Qingfeng stopped in disbelief at that moment, staring in astonishment at the person in his arms. He couldn't be mistaken about the feeling he had just experienced; it could only mean one thing…
"Wife..." He hugged her tightly and called her name over and over again in her ear.
There was no extravagantly decorated wedding room, no festive bed sheets and blankets, no dazzling candlelight... but in the hearts of lovers, this was the most beautiful wedding night. In a foreign land, on a night bathed in moonlight.
