Chapter 4 I Will Never Let Go Again in This Life

Night deepened.

The hospital, shrouded in darkness, gradually lost its daytime hustle and bustle and returned to quiet.

In the darkness, several shadowy figures darted out from all directions like leopards, taking down the people who had been hiding in the shadows in seconds.

One of the dark figures darted to a window on the third floor, leaped and climbed several times, and accurately entered the window.

Ling Ruoke suddenly opened her eyes and saw the dark figure looming over her. Her heart skipped a beat, but she wasn't afraid. Cang Weiwo had once said that he had a mortal enemy in City A who was trying every means to use her to threaten him.

These must be the people. Unfortunately, their information network is so outdated; they have no idea that she poses absolutely no threat to Cang Weiwo right now.

That's good, that way it won't be considered suicide, and I guess Cang Wei won't hurt her friends. That's good!

"Drink!" Ruoke took a deep breath with a wry smile, because the other person reached out and touched her face with tenderness.

"If possible, I will come to save you."

His deep, husky voice was incredibly gentle.

After saying that, the man picked her up in one swift motion.

Ling Ruoke instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, but because she was weak, she had almost no strength. In the darkness, her hazy eyes couldn't make out his face.

The man grabbed the bed sheet, wrapped her up in it, and tied her to his body. With a long stride, he was already on his way to the window.

If, amidst this series of shocks, I can finally recognize the visitor, I will call out softly:

"Huo Qingfeng".

"It's me."

The man only replied with two words, shielded her, and as he leaped into the air, he whispered a promise in her ear:

"If possible, I will never let go again in this lifetime!"

Ruoke couldn't answer, as the violent movements made her dizzy and disoriented. She simply instinctively clutched the man's collar, pressing her face tightly against his chest. In her hazy state, she heard his strong heartbeat and felt the warmth of his chest on her face, which made her feel safe for the first time.

Soon, figures as swift as leopards emerged from various places and returned to the car parked around the corner. After a low hum of the engine, the car quickly disappeared into the darkness, as if it had never been there at all, leaving no trace.

The car was moving very fast, and the lights were off.

With the keen eyesight of soldiers, everyone saw that their captain was holding the woman in his arms as if she were a precious treasure. Everyone was puzzled, but wisely, no one asked.

Huo Qingfeng untied the sheet and covered Ruo Ke with it, then hugged her tightly in his arms.

Even though he was very careful and gentle, Ruoke in his arms still slowly woke up.

"Huo Qingfeng, is that you?"

The voice was weak, almost inaudible.

But these elite soldiers heard it all clearly without exception. Yet none of them felt anything was amiss.

Huo Qingfeng grasped her icy hand, warming it in his palm. What he wanted to warm even more was her icy heart. Just now, on the hospital bed, she clearly knew someone had come, and it was obvious she thought they were there to kill her, yet she showed no intention of resisting, not even a hint of fear.

All of this told him: she didn't want to live anymore!

"It's me."

"That's good."

In the darkness, she smiled faintly, and then completely fainted.

Silence returned to the car; no one spoke. The unspoken dependence conveyed in the woman's words, and the expression on their captain's face, filled them with incredibly complex emotions.

Huo Qingfeng gently brushed aside the strands of hair covering her face, looking at her face, which was so thin it was almost unrecognizable, and felt a pain in his heart as if it were being squeezed by an iron hand.

Sleep peacefully, with me here, no one can hurt you!

Soon, the car arrived at the military airport, and in a few moments, all the dark figures darted into an airplane.

"If it's possible, if it's possible!"

Tan Peishi rushed over, saw Ruoke's face, and burst into a heart-wrenching wail. She hugged Ruoke tightly, refusing to let go.

"Ruo Ke, how could you have let things get like this! It's all my fault, I should have stopped you! Someone like Cang Weiwo is not someone you can afford! It's all my fault, I didn't stop you!"

"Shishi, don't be like this."

Fu Peigang couldn't bear to see his wife so heartbroken and wanted to offer some words of comfort.

Huo Qingfeng reached out and patted him on the shoulder.

"Let her go, it will make her feel better."

As he spoke, he walked to the window of the plane. In the darkness, his expression was not visible.

Fu Peigang followed him, looking at the unlit cigarette in his mouth.

"Captain, what do you plan to do?"

He wasn't stupid. If, after all this observation, he still didn't understand what had happened, he wouldn't deserve to be a soldier. Although he didn't know when it happened, the captain definitely knew Ruo Ke, and the captain liked Ruo Ke!

"I want her."

The three short words were powerful and resounding.

Fu Peigang remained silent. They were soldiers, not used to expressing love verbally. But a simple "I want you" was a lifelong promise. Especially for someone like their captain.

"She's a strong girl, she'll get better soon."

Besides this, Fu Peigang didn't know what else to say. And the captain didn't need it either.

"I know."

He has no lack of confidence, nor does he lack patience; he is just heartbroken!

"Then you'd better think about how to confess to everyone. I think they've been wanting to use those interrogation methods on you for a while now. You know how much trouble they can cause. If things get out of hand, your sister-in-law won't be able to face anyone. Don't blame me for not warning you!"

"Get lost, you brat!"

With a powerful kick, Fu Peigang turned and ran.

...

"What did you say?"

Cang Weiwo roared and grabbed the man's neck, squeezing so hard he almost crushed it.

"explain!"

"Husband, husband, husband..."

Cang Wei let go and kicked him with all his might.

The person who was released didn't even dare to catch their breath, let alone reach out to cover their chest where they had been kicked, and hurriedly knelt down.

"All our men were knocked unconscious, and the lady was taken away. The hospital has been thoroughly searched, but she hasn't been found. I deserve to die, and I'm willing to accept punishment!"

Cang Wei whirled around, pulled a gun from the person standing next to him, and fired two shots.

The person kneeling remained upright, though blood was gushing from their arm, and their face remained expressionless.

"Send men to search immediately! Even if you have to dig three feet into the ground, find him for me! Otherwise, you'll all come back to me with your heads!"

"yes!"

The person behind him took the order and left, disappearing without a trace like a ghost.

Cang Wei slammed his fist against the wall, slowly narrowing his eyes. The sound of grinding his teeth was clearly audible.

Ling Ruoke, I won't let you leave like this! Never!
