A note at the beginning (skip this if you don't like it!)
Recently, I've seen some feedback from readers, and I'd like to share a few thoughts on how I wrote this book.
First of all, the original intention of this book was to allow us "losers" to experience things in novels that we cannot encounter in real life; we are all ordinary people.
I myself have fantasized about how wonderful it would be if I had a very sweet campus romance, or if I were the top student in my grade, and how passionate my youth would be.
However, in reality, none of us are like that (of course, that's a bit of an overstatement, haha...). So, a character who is a top student, from a wealthy family, handsome, and has a beautiful online boyfriend who is also the school beauty was born (that's our male lead: Wang Xinghe).
Furthermore, some readers have commented that the male and female protagonists have been in an online relationship for so long, yet they are unwilling to even make phone calls or video chats, let alone meet in person.
Of course, one of these points was intentionally designed by the author (just kidding), but in reality, something like this actually happened (like myself!).
I also had a long online relationship that lasted for about four years.
We met in a game, added each other as friends, and then became boyfriend and girlfriend! (Haha, wasn't that a bit hasty?)
We chatted for many days before I finally saw her photo and learned what she looked like.
Then, about two months later, we made our first phone call. It was that night, and I can still remember her shy voice after the call connected. She just said "uh-huh" and hung up. Of course, I was very excited too. (After all, she was the author's first love.)
Then came another long period of time, about four months later, before we finally had our first video call (I won't go into details here...).
So what I'm trying to say is that this kind of thing really does happen in reality; art comes from life.
Who doesn't want an unforgettable romance in their youth? In the author's four-year long-distance online relationship, there were sweet moments, doubts, anger, and all sorts of emotions, but in the end, they still broke up completely.
I wrote this book, which can be considered the author's "wishful thinking." I wanted to put an end to my student days and let "Wang Xinghe" take my place, giving me a perfect ending!
Finally, some readers have commented that the author lacks boundaries and doesn't know how to handle other girls' good intentions.
This is primarily for the sake of the plot, to make the story more engaging and interesting.
Back to reality, every long-distance relationship is full of hardships, something I know all too well. In this relationship where we see each other less and less, being apart is the norm, and we all have some so-called "bad romantic interests" around us.
What we need to do is to firmly choose each other. This process will definitely be full of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, but isn't that what dating is all about?
Finally, I want to say that there is no perfect story process, but there will be a perfect story ending!
Wishing all of you find your other half! May you all experience a deeply unforgettable romance! May you all stay together with the one you love until the end!

(Beginning of main text)
"Baby~, I'm off evening self-study now, did you miss me?"
Looking at his lovely online girlfriend in the chat window, Wang Xinghe's slender fingers moved across the worn-out phone screen.
"Of course I want to!"
Seeing Wang Xinghe's instant reply, Liu Qingmeng, sitting cross-legged on the soft bed with her alabaster legs crossed, smiled sweetly: "Hehe, me too, baby, I miss you so much! When can we video chat? (Looking forward to it!)"
"Let's wait until later. Aren't you afraid I'll be too ugly and scare you?"
"Don't worry, even if my baby is ugly, I won't dislike him."
Seeing that Wang Xinghe hadn't replied for several minutes, Liu Qingmeng, who had been waiting for a message, gradually became anxious.
Where's the baby?
Wang Xinghe stared at the chat box on his phone, gritted his teeth, and decided to speak up.
"Mengmeng, there's something I want to tell you."
When Liu Qingmeng saw Wang Xinghe suddenly speaking so formally, she felt a sudden tightness in her chest and quickly sat up straight.
"What's wrong, baby? You don't mean to... (whimpering)"
Seeing that Liu Qing's dream had gone astray, Wang Xinghe quickly said, "No, I wanted to tell you something about my family."
Liu Qingmeng finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Is your family facing any difficulties, baby? Tell me about it, baby, and maybe I can help you."
Liu Qingmeng opened her bank account and found she still had seven figures left. Luckily, she hadn't spent all her allowance for the month. If it wasn't enough, she would have to ask her mother for more.
“It’s not that I’ve encountered any difficulties. Well, my mom called me yesterday and said she’s remarried and wants to bring me to Kyoto to study.”
Wang Xinghe had never seen his father since he could remember. As a child, Wang Xinghe was ignorant and would constantly ask for his father. One time, Wang Xinghe's mother couldn't take it anymore, so she closed the door and beat Wang Xinghe severely, shouting that his father didn't want them anymore and had run off with another woman.
From that moment on, the word "father" disappeared from Wang Xinghe's vocabulary.
When Wang Xinghe was in elementary school, his mother went out to work and entrusted him to the local welfare home. She sent him living expenses regularly and never came back.
Just today, Wang Xinghe's mother called him and said that she had remarried and that her new family was quite well-off. Her stepfather asked her mother to bring Wang Xinghe to Kyoto.
