Chapter 11 Shocks the Math Teacher

"I know, Mengmeng, I'm so ugly, no one will like me."

"Who said that? I'm still here, aren't I? Baby, you should go back to the classroom. It's your first day, it's not good to be late."

"Okay, Mengmeng."

Wang Xinghe put away his phone and returned to the classroom.

"Hey, Xinghe, what did Teacher Li tell you?"

"They just asked about my grades and nothing else, what's wrong?"

"You're a clean-cut young man, you're not allowed to get involved with our English teacher, you know? Our English teacher only graduated two years ago and isn't married yet."

"What are you saying? How could that be?"

"She's my goddess! I'd be so happy if I could have dinner with our English teacher someday!"

Wang Xinghe looked at Rong Xu with disdain.

The second period was math class, and the math teacher was also a male teacher. After seeing Wang Xinghe, he asked Wang Xinghe to go to his office after class.

The teachers here care about the students in their classes. For example, in Ningjiang, Wang Xinghe's class has fifty or sixty students. He usually only cares about the top students and doesn't care about the rest, as long as they don't disrupt the class order.

Mathematics is also Wang Xinghe's favorite subject, so he listened very attentively in this class.

After two classes, it was time for the long break, which was an hour long. During this half hour, students were supposed to do calisthenics. However, Wang Xinghe was called away by the math teacher, so he didn't have to do the calisthenics.

"Wang Xinghe, right? How are your math grades?"

"Teacher, I'm alright with math, aren't I?"

Wang Xinghe was known for his excellent math scores; if he didn't get 150 points, it was considered an underperformance.

"Just talking isn't enough. I have a test paper here. Why don't you try it? If you can't finish it, you can take it back and do it later. Just bring it back to me at noon."

"Teacher, an hour is enough, I'll do it here."

Wang Xinghe's math teacher was bald and looked to be in his forties or fifties.

"Alright, since you've boasted, then do it. You have one hour. This test paper is from the last monthly exam. It's not too difficult overall. Let's see how well you score."

The math teacher found a chair for Wang Xinghe and asked him to sit next to him.

"Teacher Liu, is this another test for your students?" a teacher from the same office asked as she walked over.

"Since I had nothing else to do, I thought I'd take this opportunity to find out who the new student is."

It turns out that Wang Xinghe's math teacher had this little hobby: he would often ask students in his class to come to him to do a test. If they did well, they would get a reward, such as not having to do their math homework that day. If they did poorly, they would be in trouble, as he would at least give them two more tests as a reward.

If Rongxu knew that Wang Xinghe had been chosen by the math teacher to do a test here, he would probably laugh out loud while doing exercises, because Rongxu is the most miserable one in the class, without a doubt.

From his first year of high school until now, Rongxu has been punished with at least a hundred test papers. In the end, he didn't even take the test anymore and just left with the "reward".

After receiving the test paper, Wang Xinghe glanced at it and, just as his math teacher had said, found it to be not very difficult overall.

Wang Xinghe is confident that he will get a perfect score.

Then I began to write.

While Mr. Liu was grading homework, he was actually becoming more and more satisfied with Wang Xinghe's problem-solving habits.

Next to Wang Xinghe was a scratch paper, and he was scratching out questions in a very orderly manner, one question after another, very neatly.

It even looks like an answer sheet; Wang Xinghe has planned out a very well-organized piece of scratch paper.

Watching Wang Xinghe solve the problem, there was basically no hesitation. After reading the question, he would quickly sketch out the answer and write it down.

Teacher Liu nodded with satisfaction, now it's just a matter of seeing how many points the student can get in the end.

Time passed by, and with ten minutes left in an hour, Wang Xinghe finished the entire test paper.

"Teacher Liu, I've finished writing."

"So fast? You wrote it all down?"

"Yes, there are still ten minutes left, so I won't check anymore. Liu, please correct it."

"You solved that bonus question too?"

"Yeah, is that difficult?"

Upon hearing this, Teacher Liu quickly flipped to the back, and sure enough, Wang Xinghe had also filled in the last question.

Ms. Liu gasped, and her surprised exclamation drew the attention of the other teachers in the office.

Elite high schools have a habit of making the last question of each monthly exam an Olympiad math problem. The purpose is to widen the gap in math scores, otherwise too many people will get full marks in one exam.

Normally, students who aren't in the competition class would skip the last math olympiad problem because they simply couldn't solve it. However, Wang Xinghe actually solved it.

"Okay, I'll revise it and see how many points you can get."

Other teachers also gathered around curiously to watch Ms. Liu grade the papers.

Five minutes later, Teacher Liu looked at Wang Xinghe with excitement in her eyes, and even her tone became much kinder: "Xinghe, where did you go to school?"

"A middle school in Ningjiang."

"So what do you think of this test? Is it difficult?"

"It was alright. Overall, I didn't find it too difficult, except for the last question, which was a bit challenging. Ms. Liu, did I do poorly on the test?"

"No! You did very well on the test, you got a perfect score! Our Dream Class has produced a perfect score in the monthly math exam now?"

Is this difficult?

"That's difficult, Xinghe. Have you ever encountered Olympiad math problems before?"

"I've read a little bit, not much, just when I'm bored and interested, I'll study it on my own."

"Alright, alright, Xinghe, take this book. If you're interested, there are many advanced math problems in it. Try to do them all, and if you don't understand something, come and ask me."

Teacher Liu saw hope in Wang Xinghe, hope of surpassing the competition class!

"Thank you, Teacher Liu!" Wang Xinghe happily accepted the book. He hadn't been exposed to many math olympiad problems, but he still really liked them.

"Alright, alright, Xinghe, you don't need to do math homework anymore. It's too easy for you. Just study this book carefully."

"Thank you, Teacher Liu. I'll go back to class now."

"Okay, go ahead." Teacher Liu looked at Wang Xinghe with a big smile.

After Wang Xinghe left, all the math teachers in the office gathered around and looked at the test paper he had done.

"Teacher Liu, your class has a top student! I wonder how he is in other subjects. He's capable of competing with the competition class."

"Haha, after being suppressed for three years, I finally have a chance. I'll go ask Old Shen and see how this kid's grades are in the other subjects."

Teacher Liu was as happy as a child, skipping and jumping to find Shen Duzhi.

"Xinghe, you're back. What did that old bald man want from you? He's not going to make you do the test, is he?"
