Chapter 149: Wedding Candy

Jiang Ci's face felt a little hot when he was teased. He looked at what he was wearing and felt that there was nothing different. Why did Aunt Fang tease him like that today?

Fang Yulan looked at Jiang Ci, who blushed for once, and felt an unbearable itch in her heart, like a cat scratching. She had never seen this kid so shameless in the village.

Jiang's words like this made Fang Yulan want to tease him even more. "When did you find your partner? Why haven't I heard you mention it before?"

Jiang Ci didn't want to answer this question. He came here for something important to do. "Aunt Fang, is Uncle in there?"

How could Fang Yulan not see Jiang Ci's urgency! This kid's thoughts were clearly expressed on his face. It was really unexpected that the boy who used to be afraid of being provoked in the village would be like this now that he had a girlfriend.

Fang Yulan sighed in her heart. Although she wanted to ask a few more questions, seeing that Jiang Ci was obviously very anxious, she decided not to be the bad guy.

"Yes, yes, I'll call him for you."

After saying that, Fang Yulan shouted into the house, and soon a thin old man came out.

Jiang Ci looked at the old man and hurriedly stepped forward to greet him with a smile: "Uncle, you are in the house! I was worried that I would have come here in vain if you were not here."

Zhong Jianguo glanced at Jiang Ci sideways, thinking that he didn't know that this kid was blaming him for staying in the house and wasting his time.

Zhong Jianguo had heard their conversation from inside the room just now, so when he saw Zhong Zheng, he didn't ask any more questions and said directly: "I have already written the letter of certification for you, you can just take it."

After saying that, Zhong Jianguo handed the letter of certification to Jiang Ci.

Jiang Ci held the certificate in his hand and smiled: "Thank you, uncle. I knew you were the best to me. I'll treat you to the wedding banquet later."

Zhong Jianguo's serious face also smiled rarely, and he patted Jiang Ci on the shoulder: "After you get married, you should focus on your life. Don't run around outside every day. Live a good life."

Jiang Ci chuckled, "Don't worry, Uncle! I will definitely be a good househusband in the future."

Zhong Jianguo paused patting Jiang Ci's words after hearing his story. He then retracted the smile on Jiang Ci's face, saying, "Even if you're going to be a live-in son-in-law, you still have to find a job. You can't rely on the woman's family to support a grown man like you!"

Jiang Ci knew that Zhong Jianguo was thinking about him, so he didn't say anything and answered honestly: "Of course I will find a job. You know I'm not that kind of person."

Zhong Jianguo nodded with relief. He naturally knew that this kid was not the kind of person who would just eat and wait for death all day long. Although many people in the village looked down on him, thinking that he had no parents and no relatives to help him, and that he did not go to work every day and ran around outside all day, and often fought with others.

These behaviors make him look like an unpleasant person, which is why there are so many bad things about Jiang Ci in the village.

But Zhong Jianguo knew that this boy was a good kid, because his father had some friendship with him when he was alive, so when Jiang Ci was left alone as a child, Zhong Jianguo would give him some food to help him.

Of course, there was not enough food every day. After all, food was precious at that time, and they did not have enough food at home to eat, so they had no extra food to give away.

Every time Zhong Jianguo gave food to Jiang Ci, the boy would do something within his ability to help their family in return. Even if he was told not to do it, Jiang Ci would not listen and insisted on returning the favor he was owed.

Zhong Jianguo didn't know what Jiang Ci did after he grew up. He only knew that even if Jiang Ci didn't go to work, he could still support them, and occasionally he would give them some things that couldn't be bought outside.

It is really impossible for Zhong Jianguo to feel any resentment towards such a Jiang Ci. It's okay now. After he gets married and settles down, he probably won't do the things he did before.

Although Zhong Jianguo still didn't know what Jiang Ci had done, he could more or less see something after living for decades. Every time he wanted to remind Jiang Ci, he was always diverted by this kid. It was obvious from his attitude that he didn't want to listen to him.

Zhong Jianguo was so angry that he never had a good face every time he saw Jiang Ci. Jiang Ci naturally didn't know that Zhong Jianguo was angry. After all, Zhong Jianguo always had a dark face every time he saw him.

At first, Jiang Ci was a little worried that he might have done something wrong to anger the uncle who had taken care of him since he was a child. But when he saw Uncle Zhong caring about him with a dark face, Jiang Ci knew that he was overthinking it. Over time, he became immune to Zhong Jianguo's dark face.

Zhong Wenjin listened to the two chatting for a long time and was a little surprised. Wasn't it said that his son-in-law had a bad reputation? No one could stand him, but now it seemed that he was getting along well with the captain's family!

Zhong Zheng looked at the two people who were chatting more and more happily, and secretly pinched Jiang Ci's waist with her left hand, signaling him to hurry up, otherwise if they continued chatting, they would not be able to register for marriage in time.

Jiang Ci's mouth suddenly shut while he was speaking, causing Zhong Jianguo to look at Jiang Ci, whose lips were tightly pursed, with some confusion: "What's wrong with you?"

Jiang Ci swallowed the urge to scream. The pinch was too hard. He only pinched a little bit. Jiang Ci felt that it might have just been a layer of skin. If it was the flesh, it wouldn't hurt so much.

Looking at Zhong Jianguo who was looking at him doubtfully, Jiang Ci forced a smile. "It's okay, uncle! I have things to do, so I won't chat with you for now. Just keep these four apples and try them. I'm leaving now!"

Fearing that Zhong Jianguo would not accept the apples, Jiang Ci quickly stuffed the four apples into Zhong Jianguo's arms, and immediately let go of them. Zhong Jianguo was afraid that the apples would fall to the ground, so he could only hold them in his arms. In this way, the four big apples were given away by Jiang Ci.

Seeing that Jiang Ci had taken care of it, Zhong Zheng stepped forward and grabbed a handful of fruit candies and stuffed them into Fang Yulan's hand. She didn't know who this aunt was, but she just followed Jiang Ci and called her "Auntie".

"Aunt Fang, just accept this candy and share in the good fortune. You can't refuse it! Otherwise, it will be unlucky."

Fang Yulan was about to stop him when she heard what Zhong Zheng said, but she immediately stopped and took over the conversation. "Then I will take advantage of your good fortune. I think you two will have a prosperous life in the future."

Zhong Zheng smiled and said, "Thank you for your kind words, Auntie. We have things to do, so we'll leave now. You must come to the wedding another day!"

Fang Yulan smiled and nodded, looking at the young couple. She thought that on the surface they looked like a good match, so she hoped that Jiang Ci would settle down and live a peaceful life after marriage.
