Chapter 20: Physical Fitness Test, Bai Yalan is a Weakling (2/2)

The examiner in charge of the physical fitness test took her downstairs. The examiners were still joking with Old Man Bai. The older one joked, "Old Bai, your granddaughter's temperament and personality are exactly the same as when you were young."

Seeing that he was being bullied, Mr. Bai stopped being modest at this moment and said, "Of course not. Look who brought him here."

"Hey, old man, you look so proud. How about this, little girl? Are you interested in taking the final physical fitness test? I see this girl has skinny arms and legs. She probably hasn't experienced much hardship in her life. I'm afraid she won't be able to handle it."

When Mr. Bai heard this, he was not convinced. "Who said that? My granddaughter is very capable. If you don't believe me, let's see."

After he finished speaking, he was indeed a little nervous.

My granddaughter is like me, with a talent for medicine, so both the theoretical foundation and the practical assessment are no problem. But physical fitness is not something that can be achieved by talent alone.

Judging from the little girl's physique, it's obvious that she hasn't exercised much in her childhood.

With their hearts in turmoil, the group arrived at the assessment and testing ground.

When the examiner held the stopwatch and said in a serious tone, "One thousand five hundred meters, finish in six minutes," Bai Yalan opened her mouth wide. One thousand... five hundred meters?

She stared wide-eyed at the playground, which had a circumference of over 400 meters. How many laps would she have to go around? Perhaps seeing her thoughts, the examiner was understanding and reminded her, "Four and a half laps!"

Bai Yalan's legs almost gave way when she caught a glimpse of her grandfather and his group, all coming over to watch the fun. She instantly gathered her strength again. Not wanting to be looked down upon by her grandfather, Bai Yalan mustered up her courage and ran away defiantly.

At first, everyone laughed and joked: "Wow, little girl, you run pretty fast."

However, before she finished a lap, Bai Yalan's speed gradually slowed down. She was panting and sweating profusely.

Before she had even run two laps, her speed was no longer slow; it would not be an exaggeration to say it was crawling like a turtle.

Seeing the little girl breathing rapidly, her face flushed, and her legs as if filled with lead, unable to increase her speed, everyone couldn't help laughing.

The examiner announced that the test time was up. Bai Yalan had only completed less than two and a half laps of the 1,500-meter run, which took six minutes and consisted of four and a half laps around the playground.

This... this level of physical fitness is too weak! Bai Miaoshou couldn't bear it any longer, so he stepped forward and grabbed his granddaughter, who was panting and almost fell to the ground with her waist unable to straighten up.

"Girl, I'm not saying anything harsh on you, but your fitness test results... are too bad. You couldn't even run three laps in six minutes. How shameful!" The old man couldn't help but complain. "How come you, a young girl of six years old, can't even match an old man like me in terms of physical fitness?"

Bai Yalan panted for a long time before finally recovering. She wiped the sweat off her face and said aggrievedly, "Grandpa, I've tried my best to run. The 1,500-meter test is too long. It's my fault that I didn't practice this enough." She said, but she was not convinced. "It's okay for you to say that my physical fitness is poor, but you also say that I'm not as good as you. I don't accept that."

Old Master Bai couldn't help but laugh, "Little girl, you're still not convinced. Do you dare to compete with grandpa?"

The old man was sharpening his fists and marching on the spot to stretch his muscles.

Seeing that Grandpa was serious about challenging her, Bai Yalan pouted unconvincedly, "Let's compete!"

The military doctors watching the test all smiled. The military medical examiner in charge of the test also came over and jokingly said, "Mr. Bai, do you want me to time you guys?"

The old man waved his hand and said, "No need to bother. Whoever finishes three laps first wins."

As he said that, he ran forward first. Bai Yalan was stunned for a moment at the back, then quickly caught up, "Oh, Grandpa, why are you playing tricks on me? We haven't even started yet!"

Everyone burst into laughter again, and the grandfather and grandson ran along the playground, one in front and the other behind.

At first, Bai Yalan was trying her best and kept rushing forward unwillingly.

Seeing that her grandfather was lagging far behind her, she felt proud, but soon her strength gradually failed and her steps began to become heavy and slow.

The result... was horrible.

I watched the old man pass me and ran circle after circle.

Old Master Bai had already finished running three laps, and he still had the energy to run backwards back to his granddaughter's side, mocking her mercilessly, "How's it going, little girl? Are you convinced?"

Bai Yalan was breathing rapidly and was already exhausted. When she heard her grandfather's ridicule, she simply stopped and sat down on the ground, hugged his thighs, and pretended to cry and act coquettishly.

"No more competition, no more competition. Grandpa bullies people and won't even let me hit him!"

The old man was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, and pulled his granddaughter up from the ground amid everyone's good-natured laughter.

He scolded her with a smile, "Get up, get up! You're already a grown-up kid, yet you can't stand losing and are still trying to cheat." Then he warned her earnestly, "You, you need to train harder in the future. Being a military doctor requires more than just a solid professional foundation."

The military doctor in charge of the test came over with a smile and took over the conversation: "Comrade Bai Yalan, your grandfather is right. Military doctors in our army not only need to be able to bandage and remove bullets, but most importantly, they have to accompany soldiers on missions. Some missions require military doctors to be on standby at all times, so they need to run with them. Their running speed must be absolutely fast, and their physical fitness must be excellent."
