Chapter 6. Chapter 6. Holding me.

Chapter 6. Chapter 6. Holding me.

Seeing this, the aunt quickly shut her mouth, tidied up the plates, and went to the kitchen.

Wen Chu leaned back on the stool and looked up at him leisurely: "I just finished eating and I'm taking a rest."

"Don't try to find out about me from the people around me."

"Then just tell me directly, and I won't have to ask around."

"No one can beat you when it comes to sophistry."

Wen Chu touched her stomach, slowly got up, and walked towards the stairs.

Lu Ming frowned: "What are you planning to do now?"

Wen Chu walked up the steps one by one, just looking at him and smiling.

"Get out of my house now, immediately!" Lu Ming took a few steps back, as if Wen Chu's approach was like that of a tiger, leopard, or jackal.

"What's your hurry? Are you afraid I'll do something to you on my turf?" After eating and drinking her fill, Wen Chu didn't forget her mission for the past three days: to gather as much information as possible about the other party's emotions, good or bad, as these would all earn her points. She was the kind of person who would grind for the highest score and maximize the rewards in a game, so how could she possibly pass up the opportunity to annoy someone?

Lu Ming: "I just don't want to breathe under the same roof as you anymore."

"That's really bad. I don't want to leave yet. I want to visit my sweetheart's bedroom and study, and see what's inside." Wen Chu blurted out her unreliable words.

"Are you a pervert?" Lu Ming's expression turned even worse.

"If you insist on thinking that way, there's nothing I can do." Wen Chu shrugged and had already walked up to the second floor. Lu Ming walked over and blocked her way, not wanting anyone to take another step inside.

"Get down."

"No." She said, and started to walk inside, but Lu Ming stopped her with his arm.

Lu Ming pursed his lips: "I don't want to fight with a woman."

"Then don't make a move." Wen Chu continued walking forward confidently, her waist brushing against the man's arm. Lu Ming immediately recoiled as if he had been electrocuted, not wanting any physical contact with her.

Wen Chu noticed the other person's subtle movements, grinned playfully, and walked in even more brazenly.

Seeing that she was determined to enter his private territory, Lu Ming struggled briefly before finally grabbing Wen Chu's wrist, intending to drag her back downstairs and throw her out the door.

System: "Detected that the male protagonist is experiencing agitation."

System: "Detected that the male protagonist is feeling annoyed."

System: "Detected that the male protagonist is experiencing regret."

Three system notification sounds suddenly popped into Wen Chu's mind, and she suppressed the corners of her lips from turning up too high.

She struggled as she said, "You said men and women shouldn't touch each other? Let me go."

Lu Ming scoffed, "Are you a woman? I don't think we need to care about those things when it comes to you."

"I won't go, I won't go down!" Wen Chu continued to struggle and act unreasonably, but the difference in strength between men and women still made her stagger and be dragged down several flights of stairs.

"Lu Ming, let go!" She struggled to break free, trying to shake off the man's hand. At the same time, she twisted her foot and fell down the stairs, dragged down with her until she landed on the ground floor.

"Ouch! That hurts!" Wen Chu clutched her ankle, these two words were from the bottom of her heart, because she really had accidentally twisted her ankle.

It seems being a scheming woman isn't so easy; you really have to pay a price.

She winced in pain, and Lu Ming was stunned for a moment when he saw this. He slowly let go of her hand and stood next to her with a furrowed brow.

His voice lowered, as if he still didn't believe her: "Stop pretending, get up."

Wen Chu rubbed her foot and complained, "Quick, get me some safflower oil! Otherwise, my foot will swell up! It's all your fault! It hurts so much!"

We can't do this again. Her health is more important than the mission.

Lu Ming narrowed his eyes, scrutinized her face for a moment, seemingly unable to spot any flaws in her acting, and finally called downstairs, "Aunt Sun, bring the medicine box over."

The auntie heard the noise and ran out of the kitchen. When she saw Wen Chu sitting on the ground, she was shocked: "What happened? Miss Wen, how did you fall? I'll go get the first-aid kit right away."

Lu Ming then called over two maids and said, "Help her downstairs."

Two maids ran up and tried to pull Wen Chu up from the ground. Wen Chu was in so much pain as soon as she stood up that she muttered, "Damn, I really can't walk."

Her voice wasn't loud; it was an unconscious complaint, but Lu Ming still caught it. However, the man looked at her with scrutiny and indifference, making no endearing gestures.

Wen Chu decided to act shamelessly, breaking free from the two maids' hands, sitting down on the ground and refusing to move, not wanting to worsen her injuries. She called out to the aunt downstairs, "Auntie, could you please bring the medicine up? I really can't walk anymore, thank you!"

Health is the foundation of everything. If she stays in bed all the time, the mission progress will fall far behind. She still wants to know what the generous reward the system promised is! She absolutely cannot give up here.

Lu Ming couldn't stand it any longer and said, "Are you planning to sit here until you die?"

"Please, it was me who sprained my ankle, not you. Can you stop making sarcastic remarks? And shouldn't you apologize to me?"

"I apologize to you?"

"If you hadn't been so rough, would I have gotten hurt? How can you be so cold-hearted? I really don't know who else would like you besides me!"

"You..." Lu Ming was furious at the person's act of turning the tables, but his eyes caught sight of Wen Chu's slightly swollen and scraped knees. He swallowed the words in his mouth, took a deep breath, and squatted down in front of Wen Chu.

Wen Chu was still immersed in the annoyance of her injury. She looked at the man with a hint of anger and confusion. Then, a hand reached under her knees and she heard him say in an impatient tone, "Hold me."

Wen Chu's eyelids twitched. Realizing what the other party was about to do, she hesitated for a moment, but still slowly reached out and wrapped her arms around Lu Ming's neck.

The man lifted her up with just one hand, leaving the other hanging by his side, as if afraid of touching her any more.

Wen Chu was slightly surprised. Was this guy really that strong?

She hadn't walked more than a few steps when her slippers fell off due to gravity. She looked down and exclaimed, "My, my shoe, my shoe fell off!"

Lu Ming squatted down speechlessly, picked up her two shoes, twisted the shoes in one hand, and carried her downstairs with the other.

Fearing that the villain would throw her to the ground and cause her further injury, Wen Chu held her tightly.

Lu Ming gently placed her on the sofa, and the aunt quickly came over, opened the medicine box, and, unaware of the situation, reminded her with concern, "Miss, you must be careful going up and down the stairs. Look how swollen it is; it will soon form a bruise, which will be painful and unsightly."

Wen Chu pouted and said "I know," then lowered her head, behaving like a wounded kitten, obediently hugging her knees as the aunt applied safflower oil to treat her wounds.

System: "The system detected feelings of guilt in the male protagonist."

Wen Chu lowered her head even further, suppressing the corners of her mouth that wanted to turn up, and hissed in pain again.

"Should we call a doctor?" Lu Ming asked.

Wen Chuxin thought to herself, "At least you still have some conscience," but she said, "I'm not that delicate. I'll be fine after a couple of days of rest."

The aunt added, "That's right, the worst thing to do after spraining your ankle is to exercise."

Lu Ming didn't insist: "Whatever you want."

Wen Chu looked up: "Do you have a guest room where I can stay for the night?"

"Are you going to spend the night here?"

Wen Chu nodded: "Yes."

Lu Ming frowned and refused, "No."

Wen Chu: "But I can't leave, I'm in pain. I'm just sleeping in your guest room for one night, not with you. Don't be so stingy, there are so many empty rooms—"

"Wen Chu!" Lu Ming was startled by the woman's unrestrained words, his eyes widening slightly. He glanced at the aunt and warned in a low voice, "Watch your words."

The aunt smiled and smoothed things over, saying, "The guest room is indeed empty anyway, so why don't you let Miss Wen stay here for the night? It won't be a problem. I'll have Xiaoyuan make up a bed for her."

Wen Chu quickly chimed in, "That's right! Thank you so much!"

System: "Detected conflicted emotions in the male protagonist."

Seeing that the man looked unwell, Wen Chu kindly offered him a suggestion: "Then you can take him back to my house, but if others see this and say something that affects your reputation, I will not be responsible."

Lu Ming deeply regretted his actions; he shouldn't have allowed this woman to get close to him time and time again.

He glared at Wen Chu fiercely, then turned to leave.

Wen Chu quickly grabbed the hem of his shirt: "Where are you going? I'll have to trouble you to carry me up again later."

"..." Lu Ming slapped her hand away, took a deep breath, turned around, and sat down on the sofa next to her.

The aunt's massage technique was very good, and Wen Chu gradually stopped feeling the pain. It shouldn't be a particularly serious sprain, but she still pretended to be in a lot of pain to earn some guilt points.

After she finished dealing with it, Wen Chuchao naturally opened her arms to Lu Ming.

She had to risk everything to catch the wolf; otherwise, who would want to have any physical contact with this guy?

Lu Ming frowned at her natural demeanor, but still walked towards her with a cold face, picked her up again, and carried her upstairs.

With her back to the man, Wen Chu winked triumphantly at the aunt and smiled.

The aunt lowered her head and smiled knowingly.

Wen Chu's smile faded, and she complained, "Can't you use both hands? This is too much of a test of my arm strength."

"Don't push your luck. And you're not allowed to mention this to anyone else," Lu Ming warned. "If anyone outside this family finds out, you're dead."

"What, are you worried my sister will think too much if she finds out?"

"Shut up!"

"What if she doesn't really care?" Wen Chu muttered to herself.

"If you say that again, I'll throw you off right here." As soon as Lu Ming finished speaking, his grip loosened slightly, and Wen Chu's body immediately slid down. Her survival instinct made her cling to him even tighter, crying, "No, no, no! You'll die from this!"

Lu Ming carried her up to the second floor. The maid named Xiao Yuan had just come out of the guest room. "Young Master, the bed is ready."

Lu Ming walked in and threw the person in his arms onto the bed. "You can only stay in this room. You are not allowed to run around or touch anything."

"Okay, okay." Wen Chu gave the person an OK sign.

After finishing his sentence, Lu Ming left without looking back, slamming the door shut to vent his dissatisfaction.

This guy is quite funny; he always throws his own things when he's angry.
