Chapter 123 Parting Ways
"Matteo, what do you mean?"
The convoy was stopped before it even reached Matteo's private villa.
Su Chonglin had just been mercilessly ambushed by Matteo, and now he was stopped again. He felt completely humiliated, and he was furious. He got out of the car aggressively and asked Matteo who was already standing in the middle of the road.
The two sides were on the verge of a fight, and the mercenaries held their weapons alertly, ready to fire at any time.
"Mr. Su, I have another question for you. Haven't you always advocated mutual reciprocity and courtesy before force? Why did you start with a fire attack?" Although Matteo's tone was calm, his eyes were fierce and he wished he could gouge Su Chonglin alive.
"Your sniper provoked us first, so how could we just sit there and do nothing?" Su Chonglin took a step forward.
"Sniper?"
Matteo repeated it with a little confusion, then turned around and asked in a low voice about the situation at the front.
“We do reciprocate.”
Su Chonglin waved his hand, and the mercenaries threw the string of heads at Matteo's feet.
"Matteo, if we hadn't been friends for so many years, I would have already destroyed your nest."
Matteo's expression froze when he learned the news from the front.
Was he being plotted against? Which faction sent this sniper to muddy the waters?
"You've been living happily here for so many years, it's time to take a break."
Matteo knew from Su Chonglin's attitude that not only would the deal fail today, but his territory would also be in jeopardy. Su Chonglin had already given him enough face by coming here to inform him.
"Mr. Su, there was no need for me to ambush you. Someone is trying to take advantage of the situation and interfere."
"If you don't cooperate, disappear before my eyes."
After saying this, Su Chonglin returned to the armored vehicle.
Matteo was baffled, but he didn't have time to investigate who had fired the first shot. But he wasn't a pushover in the Golden Triangle, and Su Chonglin wasn't the only boss he could work with. If he wanted to collapse, he'd be there to fight him to the bitter end.
"Mr. Su, if you insist on having your own way, both sides will suffer." Matteo said to Su Chonglin's back.
"I beg to differ."
After Su Chonglin said this, the door of the armored vehicle was slammed shut.
When Matteo saw him get into the car, he was also protected by his men and returned to the car.
It looks like we're going to have a tough battle today.
Seeing that Su Chonglin had finally returned, Jiang Yuexing couldn't wait to give the order to attack.
In an instant, the air was filled with smoke and artillery fire. Shells poured down like a storm. The originally repaired smooth road was instantly engulfed in a sea of fire, and there were broken walls and rubble everywhere.
Deafening explosions echoed one after another, like the collapse of the heavens and the cracking of the earth. Fire and smoke intertwined, forming a series of suffocating smoke, dyeing the sky a deep gray.
Wan Lin followed the mercenaries into battle, risking his life, and turned this place into a cursed land, every inch of which was stained with blood and sin.
The falling out between Su Chonglin and Matteo quickly fermented in the Golden Triangle, and the forces that had been suppressed by Matteo also took the opportunity to move closer to Su Chonglin.
The war went from a stalemate to Matteo being slightly at a disadvantage, and then to various factions taking advantage of the chaos to encircle and suppress him, and finally Matteo gave up and fled.
Jiang Yuexing wasn't interested in the changing ownership of the various factions in the Golden Triangle; he simply wanted his business to continue unimpeded. Su Chonglin's presence had certainly helped him this time, but the process wasn't as smooth as he'd expected.
Now that Matteo's connection is broken, he has to use the forces supported by Su Chonglin, and then he can only delegate power.
Jiang Yuexing frowned.
Is this Su Chonglin's trap?
But he quickly dismissed the idea.
On the way back, the convoy, which was originally returning in triumph, was suddenly ambushed by Matteo's remaining men.
Wan Lin was originally in the car talking about various new weapons with an American mercenary. No one expected that a bomb would fall unexpectedly and hit the car in front of them.
Wan Lin anxiously ordered the mercenaries protecting Jiang Yuexing to find shelter, while he and the others turned the car around and looked for the enemy.
Matteo himself was barely surviving and could barely protect himself, yet he was still thinking of launching a sneak attack.
Wan Lin was just feeling unsatisfied with the fight he had just had, so he found his target and charged forward again. However, because he charged too hard, he was also affected by the enemy's firepower and was injured in the shoulder.
Because of the huge difference in equipment, the battle ended quickly.
After a simple bandage, Wan Lin came to the captured prisoner with a gun.
"Where did you hide Matteo? Do you really enjoy working for cowardly trash?"
Wan Lin was covered in blood. He raised his leg and kicked a prisoner in the chin with his military boots.
Blood splattered.
The prisoner lost consciousness instantly after being severely injured, and was then awakened by the severe pain.
Wan Lin gouged out the prisoner's eyes with a saber.
"If you tell me, I'll let you die quickly. If you don't tell me, I'll make you live a life worse than death."
Wan Lin stuffed the eyeball on the tip of the knife into the prisoner's mouth.
Screams and roars came one after another, but there was no begging for mercy.
Wan Lin pulled out a pink intestinal tube from the prisoner's cut stomach, then wrapped it around his neck and finally tied a bow.
The prisoner was tortured to the point of being on the verge of death, with blood flowing all over the ground from the wounds of varying sizes on his body.
But he still refused to surrender and would rather die than surrender. Even though Wan Lin was a little tired of playing with him, he still refused to speak.
"He is a man, but his mind is not clear. He followed the wrong master."
Wan Lin stabbed the knife into his heart, and the bloody prisoner fell backwards. When he fell to the ground, his human form could no longer be seen. Only the pink bow swaying in the wind could be seen.
Wan Lin was taken directly to the hospital and underwent several tests. After reviewing the X-rays, the doctor told Jiang Yuexing that there were no broken bones, but that he needed to rest for a while.
Jiang Yuexing watched the doctor carefully treating Wan Lin's wound.
Wan Lin's entire right shoulder was blown to pieces, with the wound so deep that the bone was visible.
"You always rush forward without listening. Have you learned your lesson this time?"
"Brother, I'm just venting my anger for you."
Wan Lin replied vaguely, holding a cigarette in his mouth.
"You'll die here sooner or later." Jiang Yuexing said with regret seeing that he was still acting like a fool.
"I'll bend anything for my brother." Wan Lin took the cigarette out of his mouth with his left hand and said with a smile.
Jiang Yuexing snorted, and after confirming that Wan Lin's injuries were only superficial, he prepared to leave with peace of mind. Before leaving, he sent more people to ensure Wan Lin's safety.
The Jiang family won a great victory and Matteo fled in panic.
All forces rushed to send envoys to make friends with Jiang Yuexing, and everyone wanted to replace Matteo and get this coveted position.
In the end, as expected, Boding, who was supported by Su Chonglin, successfully joined the Jiang family's camp.
After a few days of hardship, Fuguang was finally able to resume production. With the Golden Triangle as its source, it continued to flow to all parts of the world.
