Chapter 134: Precarious

Chapter 134: Precarious

After a brief exchange of glances, the two immediately divided the work clearly. Jiang Xingyao stared inside the warehouse, while Zhou Cheng waited for the people on guard outside to go away.

Soon they found an opportunity. Huangmao squatted down to find stones, and then built a bird's nest on the top of a tree not far away.

Zhou Cheng and Jiang Xingyao managed to escape by crawling and tumbling, and hid in the woods next to the warehouse.

"Wait for me to get some people to blast them away." The tense string in Jiang Xingyao's head finally relaxed. He actually felt like he had survived a disaster, and his voice was trembling.

Zhou Cheng did not relax his vigilance as quickly as he did. He observed the terrain and studied the next escape route.

This abandoned warehouse is sparsely populated, and there is not a single asphalt road in sight.

Jiang Xingyao had chains tied to his feet, and Zhou Cheng was covered in wounds, so the two of them escaped very slowly.

They only dared to walk under the cover of the woods, and the overgrown weeds and rocks around them further slowed down their already slow speed.

After walking for a while, Jiang Xingyao started cursing. He was thirsty, hungry, and tired. He had no way to contact the outside world and could only walk miserably on his own two legs. When had the young master of the Jiang family ever suffered such a hardship?

Zhou Cheng felt that as long as he kept talking, he would not be tired. His temples were throbbing with his noise, so he said:

"Shut up."

Jiang Xingyao felt that he was really at odds with the Su family. Everyone who had anything to do with Su Qingyan was bizarre and incomprehensible, and their words were all venomous.

"Can you learn something from Su Qingyan?" He rolled his eyes at Zhou Cheng.

"It's not your turn to criticize him."

Zhou Cheng really wanted to stop and teach Jiang Xingyao a lesson, but they were running for their lives, and reason prevented him from doing so.

"Did you develop real feelings in bed?" Jiang Xingyao sneered.

Zhou Cheng clenched his back teeth and clenched his fists uncontrollably.

But then he felt a sharp pain in his left wrist, and this intense pain brought back his sanity.

Escape first, and I'll take care of the rest later.

But they hadn't walked for long when they heard several eardrum-piercing gunshots behind them.

Jiang Xingyao cursed, and his heart, which had just relaxed, became tense again.

Zhou Cheng didn't expect the kidnappers to discover their escape so quickly, but there was really no place to hide around, so he could only quicken his pace and walk deeper into the woods.

There was an abandoned house deep in the woods. The wooden boards on the house were dilapidated and rotten. Zhou Cheng hid behind the house.

Jiang Xingyao found a big tree with lush branches and leaves, climbed up the trunk, and hid in the tree canopy.

The noisy footsteps and curses came from far away, and both of them felt their hearts in their throats.

Soon they found the house where Zhou Cheng was hiding.

"Boss, there's a house up ahead. Let me go take a look."

It was Huangmao's negligence that caused them to escape, and now he volunteered to walk in front.

The yellow-haired man walked into the dilapidated house with an iron rod in his hand.

The windows of the house were almost all broken, and the door was even more shaky. Huangmao saw a piece of clothing vaguely visible at the back door and walked over with a sneer.

"Little mouse, hide your tail! The big cat is coming."

As he said this, he pushed the door open and rushed out.

At the same time, a stretched rope suddenly appeared out of nowhere under his feet, like a tripwire, causing him to lose his balance and fall forward.

The ground was littered with broken glass fragments placed vertically, which instantly pierced Huangmao's face and upper body.

Zhou Cheng took this opportunity and quickly came out from behind the door, holding a piece of glass as sharp as a knife in his hand, and stabbed it directly into the yellow-haired man's neck.

Although Huangmao reacted quickly to dodge, he was still stabbed by the glass. He quickly covered his neck with his hands. If Zhou Cheng pulled out the fragments at this time, blood would definitely splatter.

When Huangmao dodged, Zhou Cheng snatched the iron rod from his hand and swung it hard at his upper abdomen.

When Zhou Cheng stabbed the glass into his carotid artery, he had already made up his mind to give it a try. This life-and-death situation did not allow him to have even a trace of sympathy.

The other three people outside the house heard the sound of fighting and rushed over immediately, and then saw a shocking scene.

The two people who were wrestling were covered in blood. Blood kept flowing down Huangmao's neck and had accumulated into a large pool on the ground, staining the ground bright red.

The bald man rushed over and pulled Zhou Cheng away, and his fists rained down on him.

Zhou Cheng was already at the end of his strength, and he weakly raised his arms to protect his head. He knew that he had completely angered the kidnappers. Would the next step be a revolving door?

Scarface quickly squatted down beside the yellow-haired man and checked his wound.

"Where is Jiang?" The bearded man stood beside Zhou Cheng and lifted his chin with the tip of his shoe.

Zhou Cheng remained silent.

"How long have you been locked up together? You've already hooked up with the young master of the Jiang family? What? Isn't having a young master of the Su family enough?" The bald man said disdainfully.

Zhou Cheng ignored his ridicule. He finally understood what "death is imminent" meant. He was not from a wealthy family. To these kidnappers, he was just like an ant and could be crushed to death at any time.

He felt like a complete failure. He'd had a falling out with his family a while ago, and he hadn't even given his parents a good New Year's Eve. He'd said such hurtful things to Su Qingyan... out of spite, and now there was no chance to explain. He'd left such a mess in the lab for Gu Yi. Oh, and there were still a few interns whose final evaluations hadn't been written yet...

There are too many unfinished business to dwell on.

Zhou Cheng closed his eyes, gave up resistance, and let them punch and kick him. His heart was so filled with these things that he didn't even feel the pain.

After several kidnappers beat Zhou Cheng to vent their anger, they continued to look for Jiang Xingyao. Because Huangmao was seriously injured, they decided to send them to the freighter as planned and make a quick decision. They didn't care whether the ship could sail or not.

This forest is not very big and there are not many places to hide. Jiang Xingyao was not spared and was eventually found by them.

The jailbreak plan was officially declared a failure.

The kidnappers tied Jiang Xingyao and Zhou Cheng back to back and threw them into the back seat of the car.

Huangmao was extremely lucky. The wound on his neck did not touch his carotid artery, but even a simple bandage could not stop the bleeding immediately. He was half-lying on the passenger seat with a pale face.

The car drove at high speed towards the pier not far away.

Although Jiang Xingyao had his back to Zhou Cheng, his nose was still filled with the strong smell of blood from him, and he could even feel his vitality draining away from him bit by bit.

He nudged Zhou Cheng lightly with his shoulder, fearing that he had fainted.

Zhou Cheng snorted lightly.

"Haven't you suffered enough?"

When the bald man saw that the two of them started to make small moves again, his anger was still flaring up. He picked up the gun at his waist and smashed it at Zhou Cheng's head.
