Chapter 152 Who should I call baby?
The next morning, Su Qingyan received several boxes of flowers airlifted from Xinghai. The deliveryman did not dare to delay and quickly opened the boxes for his employer to inspect the goods.
Su Qingyan nodded with satisfaction. Ms. Ming's aesthetic taste was indeed always on point.
He asked the deliveryman to take the flowers to Zhou Cheng's neighborhood first, and then he went to the pastry shop. He bought a little of each dessert. The owner was surprised to receive such a large order so soon after the opening, and his face was full of smiles.
"Are you buying so much to give as gifts?" the boss asked while packing.
"My boyfriend has been eating your dim sum since he was a child. Now he works out of town and doesn't have time to come back. I happened to be free, so I came over to bring him some."
The boss didn't expect to hear a love story, so he quickly handed his business card to Su Qingyan and told him to just call him next time and he would mail it to him directly from the store.
After Su Qingyan had a brief chat with the boss, he returned to Zhou Cheng's community carrying three large boxes of snacks. After explaining the situation to the property management, he took the elevator directly to Zhou Cheng's door.
Not long after the doorbell rang, Zhou Cheng's mother opened the door.
"Hello, Auntie." Su Qingyan had an impeccable smile on her face.
"Xiao Su? Why are you here?" Cheng Muxi was a little surprised.
"My mother brought you some flowers. She said these flowers are delicate and she was worried about leaving them with others, so she asked me to deliver them." Su Qingyan said as he moved the boxes of flowers into the living room.
"Old Zhou! Come out and help the child move." Cheng Muxi lent a hand and shouted into the living room.
"No, no, it's not heavy. I have to leave after moving in." Su Qingyan didn't dare to trouble Zhou Cheng's father, so she quickly speeded up.
"Zhou Cheng...are you still so busy now?" Cheng Muxi asked hesitantly.
When Mr. Zhou arrived at the entrance, Su Qingyan had already moved all the boxes in. He turned around and handed a bag of snacks to Cheng Muxi.
"It just so happened that I bought some snacks, and Zhou Cheng has been wanting to eat them, but he just didn't have time to come back."
Cheng Muxi took the bag without saying a word.
"I bought an extra portion, all freshly baked, uncle and aunt, please have some."
Su Qingyan was about to leave after saying this.
"Come in and have a cup of tea before you leave." Father Zhou finally spoke.
"Thank you, uncle. I have something else to do today. Let's do it next time. I'll bring some good tea next time."
Su Qingyan didn't want to stay at Zhou Cheng's house for too long. He was afraid that if he said too much, he would make more mistakes, so he said goodbye quickly and left in a hurry.
Cheng Muxi stood on the balcony and watched Su Qingyan walk towards the gate of the community, taking the same route as he left last night.
After Su Qingyan's figure left her sight, she began to fiddle with the precious flowers on the balcony with a heavy heart.
She has always loved flowers and plants, but for the sake of her family, she has been focusing on her husband and son over the years and completely gave up her own interests and hobbies. After meeting Mingyun by chance some time ago, she slowly began to have her own world, and her originally monotonous and dull life finally had a few more bright colors.
Su Qingyan hummed a little tune as he came to the high-speed rail station. He felt that Zhou Cheng's parents were not so unkind. In the end, it was because of his own great personal charm.
After getting on the train, he sent the train number to Zhou Cheng and sent a message to his mother to report the battle situation.
Mingjun finally got his message and quickly asked what his attitude was. She had been communicating closely with Cheng Muxi recently, and she could vaguely sense that Cheng Muxi was not completely unaware, but had been trying hard not to think in that direction.
-In short, Xiao Zhou's parents must be present at the wedding. A wedding is such a big event, no one can be absent. Honey, you have a difficult task.
-How old am I? Why do you still call me baby?
Su Qingyan got goosebumps and made a series of cold sweat emojis.
-If someone calls you baby, you can’t call me mom anymore, right?
-Mom, why don't you call Zhou Cheng baby? You can't be partial. Isn't he your son?
Su Qingyan gained the upper hand and put away his phone complacently.
The two and a half hour drive was neither short nor too far. After arriving at the station, Su Qingyan saw Zhou Cheng, who had been waiting for a long time, at the exit.
Zhou Cheng had worked all night with everyone the day before, and he was a little tired after not staying up late for a long time. After Su Qingyan sent him the train schedule, he asked Gu Yi for leave. Gu Yi wanted to refuse, but when he knew that Zhou Cheng was going to pick up Su Qingyan, he immediately agreed. After all, President Su's happiness was more important than anything else.
Seeing that Su Qingyan was carrying a lot of things in her hands, Zhou Cheng hurried over to take them.
"What are you holding?"
"Snacks."
"so much?"
"I bought a little bit of everything and will eat it slowly when I get home."
Su Qingyan put her arm around Zhou Cheng and walked towards the parking lot with him affectionately.
"My mom happened to send some flowers to my aunt, so I delivered them to her this morning."
"You went to my house?" Zhou Cheng stopped. This news was like a missile explosion to him.
"I just passed the flowers over. I didn't say anything else. I swear." Su Qingyan raised his right hand.
"My dad didn't make things difficult for you, did he?" Zhou Cheng then realized that Su Qingyan had misunderstood what he meant.
"Ah? Why is he making things difficult for me? He even invited me into the house for tea, but I refused. We'll go back together next time." Su Qingyan held Zhou Cheng's hand again.
"There are some things I want to tell them myself." Zhou Cheng was actually afraid that his parents' anger would spread to Su Qingyan, and he didn't want Su Qingyan to suffer.
Su Qingyan drove on the way back. When he saw Zhou Cheng's heavy dark circles, he forced him to sleep in the car for a while.
Zhou Cheng leaned on the seat and fell asleep in a daze. When the car stopped, he suddenly woke up and opened his eyes.
"We haven't arrived yet. We're waiting for the red light. You can go to sleep. I'll call you when we get there." Su Qingyan said as he patted Zhou Cheng's clenched fist.
Zhou Cheng then loosened his fist and slowly relaxed, holding Su Qingyan's hand and falling asleep again.
Su Qingyan looked at Zhou Cheng with heartache for a while, but was reluctant to let him go, so he parked the car on the side of the road. He waited until Zhou Cheng slowly fell asleep before reluctantly letting go of his hand and continued driving.
After the car stopped steadily at the research institute, Su Qingyan wanted to let Zhou Cheng sleep for a while, but he woke up first.
"I'll go out for dinner tonight."
Zhou Cheng stretched his stiff shoulders, unbuckled his seat belt, opened the door and got out of the car.
"I'll come and pick you up." Su Qingyan now wished she could be tied to Zhou Cheng and not be separated for a moment.
"I'll be a little busy recently, but it will be over in a week at most." Zhou Cheng pinched Su Qingyan's cheeks which were puffed up because of her depression.
Su Qingyan responded with a "hmm". He felt that it was a mistake to agree to let Zhou Cheng come to the laboratory. Who knew that the intensity of work here was comparable to that of the hospital.
I have to talk to Li Yu some other day.
Don’t wait until another day, go now.
Su Qingyan did what he said and immediately drove the car to the First Affiliated Hospital.
But when he arrived downstairs at the inpatient department, he hesitated. If Zhou Cheng knew that he came to interfere with his work, he would be angry again.
Su Qingyan ordered a bunch of food and drinks for the General Surgery Ward 2 downstairs and left without going upstairs.
